The Live Action Transformers Movie won the award for "Best Movie" at this evening's MTV Movie Awards. The award was accepted by director Michael Bay and star Megan Fox.

Bay also confirmed they start filming part 2 tomorrow....so im sure there wasnt any doubt but with all the threats of "fake info" he promised, its nice to see something as offically true. lol

MTV has regained some of my respect.

If you get really bored you should go through all the threads relating the news about TF2, note down all the negative comments and who says them, then compare them after the movie is released.

Well, i don't like MTV since it became

1) a launching platform for the next one-hit-wonder-generic-emo-teen-rock-band

2) a showcase of teen soap operas, and

3) a commercial oriented crap channel disguised as innovative / alternative / cool / rebellious / fighting for yer rights.

So, i just see this prize as advertisement for the next Transformers movie.

Anyways, i'm not in the Bay-bashing wagon, on the contrary, i liked the movie since i saw it at the cinema, and then i saw it four more times with my daughter, and i got almost all the movie toys.

Not that the Oscars are any different. Oscars are the same thing, oriented to a more adult public (it all went to the thrash bin when Titanic won eleven Oscars).

Anyways, if you liked the live action movie, great ! so did i. But i don't think that an MTV prize adds or takes anything. :PEACE:

This award says two major things:

First, a lot of us voted a lot for it.

Second, the movie was well liked in the MTV demo audiences- the ever-coveted 13-25 market. Next year, these same people will make TF2 the second highest grossing movie of all time. It's a launching pad...Transformers have moved out of our little tight-knit geekdom and into the mainstream. ANd may God help us all...

Nope, no sarcasm laced in that one.

It really wasn't deserving of best movie, I'm thinking the only reason why it won was because that nobody at MTV wanted to give a movie done by a competing studio(Viacom owns MTV and Paramount) the award. In all honesty, Harry Potter was a hell of a lot more entertaining than TF was, as well as 300, and I Am Legend, but they were all done by studios not owned by Viacom.

But then "voting" counts for the MTV movie awards, maybe for the lower awards.

Not that I mean to make this sound like a conspiracy or anything, I just wouldn't put it past Viacom/MTV to pull a douchebag maneuver like giving their own movie the best movie award regardless of who voted or what.

I'm gonna have to agree with Senor Hugo. I love TF and always have, but the movie, while good and entertaining, didn't deserve to win "best movie". I could maybe agree to "viewers choice" because the target age of MTV is like 14.

Yeah I agree Skywarp became Cyclonus, Thundercracker became Scourge and the Insecticons became the Sweeps. That makes sense...although it wasn't animated that way.

I didn't remember the Coneheads dying I have not had a chance to re watch TFM.

Cliffjumper didn't die. I know that much.
