See? Things like this exchange. Unnecessary, avoidable, and only leads to unwanted animosity if continued.
Just... complain on actual grounds, offer criticism, disagree (even vehemently!), but do not just play petty games of neener neener or pissing contests.
The way my bladder is feeling (and the amount of coffee I've drank this morning) means I'm willing to accept all challengers on a pissing contest.
You taking the piss?
I need to. Urgency is fast over riding my distaste of public facilities.

Somebody mentioned the possibility of killing off the Dinobots. I think it's equally likely that they simply won't show up again, since they kind of just wandered off to do their own thing at the end of AoE.

That guy would be me I highly expect it not to be but it would be fun to see them thinking this way and tying movie ROM to the transformers which makes sense in a way. It could be the introduction of Hot Rod and the start of his storyline. Another thing that I thought if which is also highly unlikely but fun is if Cade turned into ROM

I like Prime's face, and I like the new title.
Hope the Dinobots will be in it, or smaller versions of them. They were huge in Age of Extinction.
This movie will probably be in space a lot, which is great in my opion.
I am so looking forward to this movie, hope they make the villain good again.
Sentinel Prime and Lockdown were great in the past movies.
(yes, not Winter Soldier great, or The Dark Knight Joker great. But good enough for the movie imho)
Yes, Bay is doing this movie and yes 50% of the fans will hate it like they don't have a hobby, and they will sound like 120% of the fans on the internet. Haters are always louder for some reason.
But I for one liked the first, second had the best robot fight scene to date. I loved the Sentinel Prime story in part 3 and Lockdown and how Prime was scared in part 4 was awesome.
I can see past the bad humor and a bit to much human screentime for the movies now.
Anyway, people are going to follow this development and I can't wait!!!!

"Soft reboot" =/= "complete disregard for what came before". If AOE had been a complete reboot, then there'd be some eyebrow-raising over Lennox's return. But AOE acknowledged event of DOTM and even had Brains return, so there's room for older characters to come back for TLK.Lucky Logician wrote:Why you try to continuity, TF5? you shouldnt belive in fan and people theroys 99.9 percent of time when make theroys about movies before its released in theaters to see truth if they are right in what they say they are mostly wrong its people like that have to much time on there hands with nothing better to do fans thought kylo ren was darth marglous before his name was released, other fans thought barron zemo was in canister being healed while ironman, bucky and captain america where fighting loko where that ended up in both directions.
glad lennox and tyrese are returning like those humans in movies

I get that TF4 is set after TF3. But they made damn sure that none of the same humans appear. The main character of the franchise up to that point wasn't even mentioned. That's going out of your way to start a new trilogy of movies that are separate from the original trilogy.
So why bring old characters back now? I just don't get it.

I never quite understood the trailer from DotM. Is the "flight tech" in the DotM trailer (as Optimus calls it) the Jetfire corpse flightpack from RotF modified to fit in the trailer?

Ah but it's just harmless speculating as I said in my post I know how unlikely these ideas are but it's a bit of fun in the dullness of my life.

The Jetfire parts were destroyed in the fight with The Fallen. If anything, the schematics were used to make the flight pack Prime has in DoTM, but the material is all-new, which is why he has different equipment, such as Gatling guns and actual wings. So maybe the design was used, but not the actual physical parts.WiseMan wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:As for the Prime trailer, if it does come back, I hope we get a trailer with a leader class figure from Hasbro this time.

OK, I love the character, but if this means the movie is going back to being military heavy (as much as I love the military) then we'll lose everything that was good about AoE because it will be bogged down with everything that wasn't good about the first three films that took away from the actual Transformers that finally got screen time and character development in AoE because there was no extensive focus on the military elements to take away from the title characters.
So bring back the character, but keep the military element very, very small, please. AoE had the right ratio of human:Transformers, and the story was about Optimus Prime in particular, not some annoying kid with a motor mouth.
As much as I missed Lennox I did not miss everything else that will probably come with him. Here's hoping that stuff stays out.
Lucky Logician wrote:I'm predicting it now. Everything is going to point to Optimus being the last knight. The twist is that Bumblebee is the last knight, thus setting up the BB movie.
I like this, but can Bee please get his voice back in the process? It's past time.

I don't think it was mentioned either way - the Fallen tore off one of the wings, but that isn't definitively "destroyed" - we see simple amputations fixed up on the movie TFs all the time. After the fight, Optimus detaches the parts from his body, but it'd be weird if he just threw them in a cupboard somewhere and forgot about them.Rodimus Prime wrote:The Jetfire parts were destroyed in the fight with The Fallen. I'd assume the Flighttech is derived from Jetfire's parts. If it wasn't, it raises the questions of a) Why didn't they make Flighttech for the past two movies b) Why only for Optimus. ("Resource limitations" is possible, but flimsy.)

As to the speculation that this movie may tie into ROM, I am happy for that possibility. There are other great Hasbro properties that I would love to see adapted, especially Visionaries. There's a great deal of potential there. Imagine a Visionaries film helmed by Guillermo del Toro, or Luc Besson writing/directing M.A.S.K. I'm down for that.

To be fair, the end of AoE made it sound as if the next movie would be Optimus Prime in space looking for the Quintessons (or whatever Bay might retcon it to), but then why would he keep a semi truck alt mode?

Yes, there is. But, Transformers fans or not, I think we can all agree that a semi truck driving through space is absolutely ridiculous.
Which, now that I think about it, is probably why Bay has done it. With a flame deco, no less . . .

The thing about his boots though, from what happened when prime got the sword, it looks like they were a new upgrade rather than something he already had.
As for trucks in space, I'd rather have a winnebago in space

I've always preferred lint speed myself. Spoooooooooooooon!
So at some point he was a knight, presumably with access to the sword, got that upgrade, said "nah, I'd rather not be able to fly," lost it, and then forgot how to get it back.
Hoo boy.

As much as I agree with the criticism of Bay's predilection for military narratives or involvement, I agree more with ZeroWolf's point here. It's also being used/explored in the current IDW comics, and so far it's working fairly well (and much better than DotM/AoE, for example).

So long as the military doesn't take over the movie like it did in the first three I'm happy to have Lennox back, especially if his team is back with him. Though I'd rather see Lennox act as an ambassador between the government and the Autobots, with little to no military intervention in the battles themselves. I can't see the Autobots willing to work with the military again after they were hunted down after Chicago. That makes Lennox one of the few people who could be sent to try and formalize relations once more. Thematically it works.
