Inferno is listed as being currently out of stock, but anyone who is still looking for him should keep an eye on it. This Inferno is a redeco of Combiner Wars Hotspot but with a retooled head. There is no designated team for him, the intention being that his combined form is made out of whatever limbs buyers would have at hand. This has not stopped some fans for thinking creatively and coming up with teams to suit either his colour scheme or from giving homage to old Marvel UK G1 comic storyline, The Magnificent 6.
Thanks to Seibertron user Sabrblade for coming up with this idea
For those on the fence about this version of Inferno, Seibertron's own William-James88 wrote an article about him which goes through his pros and cons.

Sorry, I just got my hands on one, and in the midst of running around squealing like a toddler with a new ice cream cone it caught my eye.
Yeah, That is sort of a carryover from the original reveal. When he was originally revealed at whatever event last year, they had a black Decepticon symbol covering the head. Many speculated that the digital render had the pre-tooled other head on it and they realized it too late and just covered it up. Apparently whenever they did the box art, the just erased the head and forgot to photoshop in the correct one.
Thanks for the info. I figured someone in this group would know what was going on.

I'm the opposite. I have yet to see Inferno on a shelf in ANY store near me, same goes for Elita and Hun-Grr. Then again, my Walmart just now got Rippersnapper, Blackwing and Novastar in, so who knows. Maybe the voyagers are on the way as well. I also need a Moonracer. Yep, I just found one at Target. Might repurpose him into a Wreckers style Pyro though.

I finally got around to photographing Volcanicus.
A basic frontal shot. You can see that I've painted the optics on mine blue, I just personally prefer the look of them that way. I have plans to make some custom weapons for him, a sword at the very least (And it will be an original design that matches the aesthetics of the Dinobots' individual swords, NOT an uscaled FOC Grimlock sword). But he's awesome even without a dedicated weapon.
Armed with the Cloudburst Decoy Armor's weapon mode. I like this as a weapon for him, because it kinda-sorta resembles Grimlock's Twin Stunner Laser.
And finally, the picture I've been planning on ever since Volcanicus was revealed. The Dinobots using the might of their new united form to enact SWEET COMBINER-Y REVENG on Mindwipe for what happened in the first battle of The Headmasters

Moonracer was wave2 along with Rippersnapper. But almost ALL of wave 2 has been scarce because of Hasbro and their wacky distribution network. Some parts of the world were flooded with wave 2 stuff. Most parts of the US have seen hardly any. Those who were able to find Hun-Gurr and others were VERY lucky. And to date, most people still haven't seen the wave 2 Prime Masters.
Moonracer and most of the wave2 deluxes are available for regular retail price at HasbroToyShop.com as of this moment. The wave2 voyagers and prime masters - not so much. Still 'out of stock'.

I completely missed what happened last year when SDCC 2017 items went for sale, was it this bad? I mean I had no issues ordering Grotusque when Warden basically said "Go get it!" at Hascon last year...

Whoever this Myriam person is though, I'm betting they might have a job after this mess is straightened out. I almost wish HTS would just reverse the charges. Maybe.. Which would certainly suck.
I admit that I have experienced a bit of forward wobble in the waist at times, but not any more than I've had with Silverbolt or Motormaster.
As for the shoulders.. Are you absolutely sure you've got Grimlock's forearms actually lined up with and slotted onto the tabs? It can be kinda fiddly to get them lined up right (and some extra slots on his forearms that are there for a different reason can mislead you, which doesn't exactly help), but when you do they should stay on fairly tight. It's also vital to make sure that you connect the shoulders to the halves of Grimlock's T. rex torso. That does a lot to help anchor things.
The main issue I've had with Grimlock as a torso is that he doesn't have the most effective distribution for balancing a combined form on his own, so if you've only got one arm robot attached he has a hard time staying upright when posed. But with two arms, he's fine. Volcanicus isn't propped up on anything in my pics, not even the one of him tearing Mindwipe a new exhaust port.

That's actually pretty good. I would swap Jazz and Wheeljack, though, for symmetry's sake. And I don't like the look of exposed combiner ports. I would flip Prowl's front end up to cover it.Sabrblade wrote:I don't have the figures, but I keep posting this image (which is not mine) every time the subject comes up:
And why did Inferno's chest have to be white? Just because Defensor's is black? I wish they kept it black or made it red.
Posted by Sabrblade on August 16th, 2018 @ 6:40pm CDT
I think I read somewhere that the placement of the parts that form the combiner torso when in Inferno's normal robot mode is reminiscent of the little white wings that Inferno originally had on his G1 toy, and so by making the torso pieces white, Hasbro was able to pay homage to those little white wings for this Inferno toy's normal robot mode, which in turn also enabled Hasbro to do something different and unique from the look of Defensor's torso for the look of Inferno's combiner torso.Rodimus Prime wrote:And why did Inferno's chest have to be white? Well, making it red wouldn't work out too well because if it was red then it would blend in with his body.
White goes well with red as far as color combinations go, especially on a fire engine - many of them have white markings. And it also calls to mind the white wings of Inferno's original toy (and thus his cartoon design). Heck, in robot mode, the chest shield halves even end up in the same spot on his back where the wings went on the original Inferno toy.

It sold out relatively quickly on HTS, but most people didn't complain because it would be easier to get from TRU, plus ship for free and qualify for discounts (unlike HTS). Same story with Arcee.
SDCC 2017 was basically the same as this year, just with fewer glitches which may have resulted in things selling out even quicker. The big IDW Hasbro crossover set with Jetfire sold out in 10 minutes, Primitive Prime sold out in 20 minutes which meant a whole different series of complaints.

I tried again, and sure enough I had one of the pegs on each forearm in the wrong spot once I folded the arms into the sides. I fixed it and that made the torso surprisingly stable. So thank you for that. I don't know how I missed it. Maybe because I was biased against Volcanicus from the start. They should have been done like Predaking was, all 5 Dinos Voyager sized. Besides, I still don't like how Volcanicus looks, his shoulders are too wide and his waist is too small. The Dinobots look better with Sky Lynx.ZeldaTheSwordsman wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:Mine is floppy and the shoulders can't support the weight of the arms. Also, thanks for the explanation on Inferno, to both you and Sabrblade. I forgot about those wings, because they were small on the G1 figure. But now I get the homage to them and firetrucks in general.
And I think he would have looked good with a red chest.
If Inferno's head was swapped with RID Optimus Prime's head, would that be an acceptable homage?
And Sabr, wouldn't the regular OpOp look better in that BW pic, considering that was his final incarnation in season 3, like the dragon was Megatron's?

You can mitigate Volcanicus' wide shoulders and small waist by plugging the two excess Armors into his sides, "buffing up" his abdomen. There are two 5mm holes there that seemingly serve no other purpose.

I wouldn't think so, since that's not Megatron's Transmetal 2 form, but what was conceived as his Transmetal 3 form. This is Transmetal 2 Megatron. The Botcon figure is not supposed to represent Megatron's Transmetal 2 form. Instead, it is a hypothetical Transmetal 3 Megatron that was supposed to be an exclusive to the cancelled OTFCC 2005.Rodimus Prime wrote:Are we talking about 2 different characters/figures? Out-fer-yes is - grudgingly - pretty good too. The nicely tight thigh joints (thanks to the remolding) allow him to hold a pose a little better than hotspot ever could, and I like the colors better.
