Edit: I now see the stripes on the shoulder, but they are flames >_>
I'm still doing some customizing.

It also looks like Knockout's weapon is very similar to Soundwave's Micron:
I wonder what Micron will come with Arms Micron Knockout?

Could someone please take Hasbro's copy of Photoshop away from them?
This made me spit out my coffee hahah
I think it looks good, I am also 1000% sure that it is mistransformed.
at least he doesn't have a retarded mechtech weapon!

Mis-transformed, awkward angle, horrendous Photoshoppery; basically everything that could make a figure look awful happens in this pic.

Just what I was talking about, see? Not as bad as you guys thought huh? Still, preserving judgement.

I've thought all along that his CG model looks like Terrorsaur as a sports car, so I guess this means the toy's accurate enough.
Not that he acts anything like Terrorsaur. His personality seems to be Evil-Tracks-with-an-MD, making him probably the most unique character in all of Prime so far.

In fact he's perhaps the only interesting character in Prime.

Why did hasbro decided to change directions with TF Prime, the FE's looked fantastic, but these newer figures are looking quite over simplified.

That much is unquestionable.Lord Onixprime wrote:B) poorly over Photoshopped.

Please tell me that you somehow missed everything that every other character did, at the very least Soundwave.

Prime is a pretty bad show. Knockout is the only point of interest in it.
That said some of the toys do look good. Terrible a character though Prime Wheeljack is his toy is sweet looking.

Actually, I can honestly say I plan on getting the entire cast of these guys. Maybe it's a testament to how good the actual show is, but this is the first time I've ever bothered to collect the whole cast of characters of a Transformers TV show.

None taken. For some reason Prime just rubs me the wrong way. It's the parts I like least about the franchise in one package.cannonfodder4000 wrote:Diem wrote:cannonfodder4000 wrote:Diem wrote:Bumblevivisector wrote:

I wouldn't exactly call TFPrime bad, just badly mediocre. Everything about it just seems terribly predictable, unoriginal and completely bland in every way, but at the same time not completely unwatchable. It just seems like something I would watch casually if it happens to be on at the time, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it or even bother timer recording it.Diem wrote:Prime is a pretty bad show. As for Knockout here. Gotta say I was hoping he'd make a cool toy with his design, but alas this just looks incredibly mediocre, much like the series.

You hit the nail on the head.
It has a fair number of interesting robot designs and a few interesting characterizations, but overall it's pretty... generic. I suppose this is a step up from the majority of Transformers storytelling, but Beast Wars still outclasses it by a fair margin.
Knockout is particularly noticeable because he isn't a retread. I hope one of the versions of the toy turns out well.

Knockout looks kinda meh, just going by that one picture. I'll need to see more pictures.

No one is expecting anything to ever be Beast Wars quality again. I feel some people are just to jaded anymore.
The first season, as they said, was a trial run. They either weren't allowed, or choose not to get to deep into the fiction, so some character development here and there to introduce the players, some shallow investments into future fiction and that was what season 1 was supposed to be. Maybe that's not what you want from a 26 episode season, but it makes it easy on the watcher if their time investment isn't wasted because Hasbro changes it's mind on Prime.

Except I feel even Animated told a better story than TFPrime, and it was primarily intended for younger audiences than TFPrime.Lord Onixprime wrote:No one is expecting anything to ever be Beast Wars quality again. I feel some people are just to jaded anymore.
I'd feel better about that if they hadn't delved into the backstories of the characters. Even the Optimus/Megatron origin story was completely mediocre. Then you have the origin of dark energon being Unicron inside the Earth, which is not so much mediocre as actually being completely dumb. So yeah, all the huge setups that affect the series in the future are not exactly a good sign. Then you have the writers themselves, who's work in the past completely varies from director to director, but when they've worked more on their own in the past it has also been mostly mediocre.Lord Onixprime wrote:The first season, as they said, was a trial run. I should make a drinking game out of this.

kirbenvost wrote:Not too bad, but not great either. Obviously mistransformed. Needs more white and silver. I'm worried they're going to ruin it with the paintjob, it looks like some sort of dumb electrical flame deco they have there... Plus if they neglect to paint his wheels it'll really kill the look. His sweet rims are part of what makes him so awesome!
he does have that electric pain job its just hard in his alt mode...
the most noticeable time you see that is in T.M.I.

still, looks like it will be decent enough. not anywhere near the top of the wants list, but if I see him in-store when I get a hankering for TFs I won't necessarily pass him up.

Animated took quite a while to get into the story too, if you'd like my honest opinion. It lingered and was, more or less, muted for the vast majority of the 1st season, not really picking up until the end. It was in the second season and third season were it really started kicking off. I found the 1st season to be a comical and cutesy welcome into the series where all the core relationships were set up with a smattering of a plot line. Once all that was put aside they dove in and took off.
Don't get me wrong, I like Animated. Quite a bit actually (the highly exaggerated and kiddy manner in which it was crafted has a special place in my heart). I just wanted to put in my two cents since a story discussion popped up ^^;;
