Transformers: Robots in Disguise artist Andrew Griffith has updated his deviantART account with his concept art for Megatron as he appeared after ditching his Stealth Bomber body. Take a look below.

Check out our exclusive interview with Andrew by clicking here.

Andrew Griffith wrote:So I finally took a moment to upload my design for Megatron's newest appearance in IDW comics, from Robots in Disguise. Included are my ideas for colors, but I think Josh used colors that were slightly different for the book as I only ever shared a b&w drawing with him.

This is the body he was rebuilt into after shedding his ruined stealth jet body around issue #14 of RID.

Was intended to be something of the quintessential Megatron, mixing the look and feel of his G1 design with more contemporary designs like the one from Stormbringer and Megatron: Origin.

Megatron was also designed to have a look that could fit technologically as a modular unit of the rebuilt Devastator, sharing certain design features with the Constructicons from RID.

It's basically WW Megatron with a bit of idw pre-earth Megatron. Still looks pretty badass.

I don't think that's the same design.

Similar, yes, but not the same.

All I see is War Within Megatron with a G1 chest. It looks good, but it's not exactly original.

I like it, but I wish we could get over the squiggly lines leftover from the gun altmode from thirty years ago.

Thirded.

Would it be too much to hope for a leader class toy without any obtrusive gimmicks, seeing as this is aimed more towards adult collectors?

I don't mind a couple of missiles, but nothing obtrusive like the PRID leader class figs.

I know I shouldn't be supporting Third Party companies over Hasbro, but considering how badly Hasbro dropped the ball on the Stealth Jet Megatron, and considering this Megatron is supposed to be a modular part of Devastator, I'm thinking it would be interesting for TFC to make this and retrofit it into their Hercules combiner.

That's beautiful.

I think we'll eventually get a figure of this... about two years down the line, in Deluxe form, with a Legends class counterpart that gets repainted into Battle Blast Bumblebee. >_>

He wasn't quite a stand out example of a decent Titanium figure. ;)

Actually WW Megs was quite a good figure for titanium standards. not large, but at least he stayed together. And his robot mode was very good.

The Megatron with the issues was the G.I. Joe Megatron.

Even though he looked o.k, he was a floppy mess that would not stay together. And his Tank mode was a square with a turret.

Definitely would be nice to get a toy version of this made.
