Along with the Groove reveal, we also get to see our first glimpse of Transformers Adventures Powerglide, Cosmos, Drift, and a Steeljaw (with a very Prowl'esq deco).
Tired of reveals? We're almost done! Earlier today TFyuki showed us Legends G1 Megatron in his cardboard prison, and teased Aramada Megatron. But now he's in the flesh... err plastic! And alongside him is Black Convoy? He of course is a repaint of Reveal the Shield Laser Optimus Prime, and a version of him was already made by the Transformers Collectors Club.
*Phew*... take a deep breath and stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all your Transformers News!

Armada Megatron looks cool, but won't replace my Hasbro one, and not enough difference in Powerglide or Cosmos.
Nice designs though.

Police Steeljaw should totally have K-9 printed on him somewhere.

Congrats to Takara for creating and insisting on original G1 team members for there combiners. Since there made, Hasbro will probably release all of them eventually.
Think it's easy for anyone to speculate that Takara Unite Warriors deluxe Groove. Will get repurposed as CW Technobots Afterburner.

Groove can totally use Alternity powers to control two auto-avatars at once, attaching to the same combiner twice, or two at once. Defensor DoubleGroove Formation!

Defensor DoubleGroove Formation! GIGA GROOVE BREAK!!!!!!!!
I knew it was a good idea to wait. Minus the fact I had no Idea of any proper scourge was ever going to be made again.

I only ask because when Takara brings out the withheld character for "proper" configuration and online retailers follow suit, it'll be nice to know who's getting booted on to Galvatronus's team of castoffs.

Since the Hasbro American prices are so cheap for these Combiners Wars toys. Can afford to buy both toy classes for CW Groove.

when i first heard of deluxe groove i thought the same thing maybe it will eventually be used as afterburner but looking at that picture of groove they would need to significantly have to retool
it to look right

Aw heck, hopefully someone buys a bunch of Guardians and part them out...

Looking at some of the repurposed CW toys. Most are extensive retools. Given that, Think it's plausable to expect a CW deluxe groove repurposed into CW Afterburner.
Guess we'll know in a few weeks at Botcon or SDCC.

I think Groove just looks more detailed because it's in prototype form. The gray-scale really brings out the detail that often gets missed in a busy or more diversely-colored deco.
I'll be honest, I was hoping that Legends Armada Megatron turned out to be Armada Galvatron.

My hunch was right on a not yet released mold for Groove. If only seibetron gives a "No-Prize"

"Groove is a free spirit, man. A full fuel tank and an open sky above him is all this chopper needs to mellow out and enjoy whatever good vibrations the open road brings his way. One relaxed, easy-going dude, Groove is also a bit of a loner in his soul. He doesn't make a lot of attachments to others, preferring the freedom of an empty highway, but he is always sure to be there with the love when his Protectobot teammates need his help. Groove doesn't like combat or conflict in general, and is always ready to give peace a chance."
I'm glad he's back on the team.

And the police redeco of Steeljaw is named "Phantomjaw"/"Phantom Jaw"/whatever it will be parsed.

Liked MMC's idea for the extra limb member. Where it became the back wings for Feral Rex. Would have liked the extra CW limb bot to become a set of wings or shoulder canons for the combiner.

Powerglide's head isn't tabbed all the way in, you can see the landing gear. How unlike Takara.
I like the painted circle on his head (cartoon-accurate.) He also has more whitish plastic whereas Hasbro used grey. Both look fine.
I don't like the RID insignia though, it looks like he's waiting for a website to load. Wonder why they stuck him, Cosmos and the Insecticons in the TAV line instead of Legeneds.

I did think the Legends Groove was a cool looking little mold, though. I hope he gets repainted into someone else. Or heck, if I ever happen to see him in stores and there is nothing else I need that day, I may just give in and grab him to use as a stand alone figure. But he shan't be a priority.
Likewise for Rook, although I am sure he will be remolded into someone else eventually. Of course, if his remold is for the Combatacons, I may be out of luck, since I am planning to stick with the Combatacons I already have. (Fansproject augmented Asian Exclusive re-release of the Energon molds.)
I suppose if I happened across both Rook and Legends Groove in brick-and-mortar-land, I could pick them up and have two different configurations for Defensor! But whatever. I shan't be going out of my way for them, and I won't loose sleep if I never get them. But I shall keep half an eye out.
In non-Defensor news:
Man, I think Hasbro wins on the Powerglide front! The white circle around his faction symbol on the Takara version just looks so out of place!

Stryfe Convoy wrote:I don't know about this deluxe Groove. I'm still waiting for an in color, fully combined pic, but the combined pic they have in that magazine makes Groove look skinny as all hell compared to Streetwise. Maybe making First Aid a leg and have Blades and Groove be skinny arms? I don't know. I just looks off to me...
I have a great resolution for that. The offroad/first aid mold works much better as a leg giving Defensor a kneepad, and the streetwise mold can also give a kneepad by lifting the hood up. So you keep those two for the legs and keep Groove and Blades as arms. It will work super well. Looking forward to seeing how Groove looks as an arm. Don`t know when we will know that though since for the first time, its Takara revealing a new combiner war mold and we might not know until people get them in hand in fall or until Hasbro releases their version ala Brake-neck . This is very exciting!
RiddlerJ wrote:Alpha Bravo, Offroad, and Rook all get recruited into Galvatronus. But who will number 4 be?
No one. It was found in a computer that next year's outings wouldn't go this route:

G1 being the basis of Transformers needs to be forgotten.
Also Takara is still releasing this mold as a repaint named Override http://tfwiki.net/wiki/Override_(Adventure)
Probably based on the G1 Transformer who is also a motorcycle.

It's either scale (which is a joke in any toy line) or G1 accuracy. You can't have both.

Well, that's your opinion and you are entitled to it, but not everyone (myself included) will agree. That is the beauty of the current situation, however... Choice! Everybody wins!

That statement only works if Hasbro NEVER releases it here.
