| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792302) Posted by Autobotic9 on September 22nd, 2008 @ 5:34am CDT I like the Megatron. Will pick up. Maybe Overkill too, since I never got the classics grimlock mold. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792303) Posted by Bonger on September 22nd, 2008 @ 5:35am CDT Sweet! Nice find. Fragstrip is mine for sure!!! | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792305) Posted by Mkall on September 22nd, 2008 @ 5:47am CDT Prime - Not interested in Megs - Looks good to me Dragstrip - You bet! Overkill - Most likely! Maybe receivable through the Collector's club? | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792306) Posted by Down_Shift on September 22nd, 2008 @ 5:51am CDT Awesome. These look like Hasbro products and not Takara, which is nice. All four of those sound very interesting. Just the box art alone I'll pick em' up | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792307) Posted by Sherade on September 22nd, 2008 @ 5:56am CDT
Plus there's a Hasbro Logo on the box. But still, these look nice, I'll probably get all of them but Overkill.
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792308) Posted by Bonger on September 22nd, 2008 @ 5:57am CDT
True, not really interested in prime or megs, but I might grab them just for the boxes as wel. Very cool.
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792314) Posted by rpetras on September 22nd, 2008 @ 6:10am CDT No interest in that Prime or Megs, but Dragstrip & Overkill are definite. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792316) Posted by Tekka on September 22nd, 2008 @ 6:16am CDT Cool. So now we have a Drag Strip as well as a Wildrider. My hopes of seeing a Classics Dead End may not be too far from being fulfilled. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792320) Posted by Sledge on September 22nd, 2008 @ 6:39am CDT That G1-coloured Megatron looks really nice. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792321) Posted by Prime vs Wild on September 22nd, 2008 @ 6:50am CDT Those boxes look great. I will probably pick them up, assuming nice box doesn't equal huge price mark up. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792323) Posted by Fender Bender on September 22nd, 2008 @ 6:59am CDT Dragstrip WILL be mine...... So will the others most likely. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792326) Posted by Mkall on September 22nd, 2008 @ 7:09am CDT I'm really hoping that Overkill means a Slugfest will show up one day, and that would mean a universe Snarl, which means more Universe Dinobots. Yes a mod can dream... | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792328) Posted by Prime Evil on September 22nd, 2008 @ 7:20am CDT Ooooh, that Overkill and Dragstrip are sooo bought. Prime n Megs...meh. But so far so good, it DOES look like this will be a US release. Just what I wanted to hear. Less $$ I have to spend importing the more Hasbro gets. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792329) Posted by astig on September 22nd, 2008 @ 7:35am CDT Ah! Nice!....G1 Megatron and Galvatron both in Tank Modes! | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792331) Posted by Counterpunch on September 22nd, 2008 @ 7:37am CDT Now this IS interesting... | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792332) Posted by Guneagle01 on September 22nd, 2008 @ 7:40am CDT Thosoe look pretty awesome, and I still need a prime and megs so I probably get them, and I definitely want overkill cause I missed classics grimlock. are these gonna cost more money cause they're "special edition"? or will they be just like regular deluxe figures? | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792335) Posted by King Henrik on September 22nd, 2008 @ 7:44am CDT
i'm there with you mkall...but what are they going to call snarl now? also i will never transform overkill from dino mode!
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792336) Posted by tigertracks 24 on September 22nd, 2008 @ 7:50am CDT Looks cool. I am excited about a possible Dragstrip, but more information would be nice. I'll be watching for it. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792337) Posted by CMP on September 22nd, 2008 @ 7:57am CDT Cool. I can't, wait. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792351) Posted by tigertracks 24 on September 22nd, 2008 @ 8:23am CDT I guess we are also past the 'Botcon exclusives cannot be done' stage, because Overkill was a Botcon Class Creation two years ago. I am almost certain this one will be in colors a little different, but yeah, I think the wall may have crumbled on that little motto. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792359) Posted by Firebird on September 22nd, 2008 @ 8:47am CDT Those are some really nice boxes, Reminds me of the packaging art on the ehobby THS-02B. I wonder what the price will be for these special editions? | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792366) Posted by Ravage XK on September 22nd, 2008 @ 8:59am CDT Wow nice box design Hasbro. I agree they do remind you of THS-02B which is not a bad thing at all. Its a shame the figure inside wont match the awesomeness of the box art. The fact that you cannot see the figure inside suggests that these are meant for the collector who wants the accurate paint jobs as the casual toy buyer or child in Toys R Us isnt going to get that excited about a bunch of boxes on a shelf. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792374) Posted by olokin on September 22nd, 2008 @ 9:16am CDT Are these exclusives? The packaging screams Takara but has Hasbro markings. Could this be a Hasbro Hong Kong exclusive? | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792382) Posted by Seibertron on September 22nd, 2008 @ 9:30am CDT
I don't think the customs figures really count (at least in my opinion). They're kitbashes to demonstrate how to make a figure. I'd be more than happy to see those get made into actual figures, which apparently we're getting to see at last.
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792385) Posted by dragons on September 22nd, 2008 @ 9:36am CDT tehy should kept primes gun black are these going to be sold in stores? | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792398) Posted by Aeros on September 22nd, 2008 @ 10:29am CDT I already have the Prime and megs and mirage and Lock. Not a huge fan of repaints but i love the boxes. My only Question is how much extra will we be paying for a box. Deluxes at Voyager prices? | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792400) Posted by Counterpunch on September 22nd, 2008 @ 10:31am CDT
Agreed. I don't think the customs are a part of the "BotCon" brand. Aren't they Stesselman's pet project essentially?
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792418) Posted by RodimusConvoy13 on September 22nd, 2008 @ 11:11am CDT Damn, Couldn't find that awesome Admiral Kirk screaming repaints picture. So, this is the next best thing. REPAINTS!I thought maybe if I get that out early, things will stay calm The Prime doesn't look that different, but I definitely like Megatron. Very cool. I'm quite curious about these figures now. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792419) Posted by omega666 on September 22nd, 2008 @ 11:11am CDT Damn it! I already custom painted the originals to look more G1. I won't need these. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792423) Posted by Chaoslock on September 22nd, 2008 @ 11:17am CDT Prime and Megs: "New packaging, same product. Losers." It would have been so much better to re-release the Classics Voyager Megs and Prime in that packaging, those deluxe molds FAIL. Overkill and Dragstrip: Gotta see them to judge them, but those boxes alone are enough to buy each of the two. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792424) Posted by Pyrostrata on September 22nd, 2008 @ 11:18am CDT Nice packaging! So Hasbro-takes-hint-from-Takara! Very nice! Megs and Dragstrip will be mine for sure! | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792445) Posted by Auto Bot on September 22nd, 2008 @ 12:02pm CDT The original Hasbro Classics are still much better than these. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792450) Posted by Overcracker on September 22nd, 2008 @ 12:07pm CDT
Indeed! Megs looks very nice in those colors, even though I already have all the molds, for this series. I will undoubtedly pick up Prime and Megs. Even though I despise Megs's Arm gimmick, the colors and the box alone make up for it. Prime will forever stay in Robot mode, inside his box. I might get Overkill. Dragstrip, probably not. But the boxes are 100% Collector aimed. If only Hasbro had picked better molds for the Special Editions. Still its a nice thought on their part.
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792457) Posted by jazzrules on September 22nd, 2008 @ 12:14pm CDT Megs, Prime and Overkill are up on HTS http://www.hasbrotoyshop.com/ProductsByCategory.htm?CD=121&BR=496&SBR=695 Originally created for the Asia market, they've become HTS exclusives - making it unlikely that I'll be getting any of them as they probably wont make it to our HTS. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792511) Posted by --B-- on September 22nd, 2008 @ 1:27pm CDT Now, if we could only get Dragstrip and Wildrider on HTS, then we'd be in business!!! | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792523) Posted by Hard Hacker on September 22nd, 2008 @ 2:05pm CDT If they fixed Megatron's foot flaw, then he's a yes. Overkill is the one I'm most interested in. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792524) Posted by Nekoman on September 22nd, 2008 @ 2:11pm CDT I’ll be getting all but Prime. I hope these aren’t too limited… | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792527) Posted by UltraPrimal on September 22nd, 2008 @ 2:12pm CDT
Damb, right! The Henkei Wildrider is ridiculously expensive and not all that inspired. I hope if Hasbro does a version they make him look like Wildrider and not a straight Rodimus repaint. And no online stores carry him. Just eBay. Now if they'd release the BotCon 06 souvenirs at retail, I'd be a very happy man. If they're releasing a BotCon figure that used to be limited to about 30, why not?
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792528) Posted by Counterpunch on September 22nd, 2008 @ 2:14pm CDT
Custom Class figures aren't actual BotCon toys. (99% certain on this)
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792533) Posted by Hard Hacker on September 22nd, 2008 @ 2:19pm CDT
They're listed on the Transformers wiki, so it's not really a kitbash ether.
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792557) Posted by Caelus on September 22nd, 2008 @ 2:51pm CDT Classics Mirage as Dragstrip? Crasher/Fracture is going to get a twin brother! | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792558) Posted by Counterpunch on September 22nd, 2008 @ 2:52pm CDT
That...authenticates nothing.
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792591) Posted by Sledge on September 22nd, 2008 @ 3:15pm CDT Ooh, I'd take Overkill. Never thought that mold worked for Grimlock, but I can live with it as a minor character. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792597) Posted by Savage on September 22nd, 2008 @ 3:23pm CDT
QFT. He's probably the only one of these four that I'll pick up. I'm a sucker for any Megatron with a G1 color scheme.
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792601) Posted by Sledge on September 22nd, 2008 @ 3:26pm CDT
Just emailed HTSUK to ask.
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792603) Posted by decepticonjon on September 22nd, 2008 @ 3:27pm CDT can't believe 3 of the 4 are up already. ok and ds are the only two i'm interested in and at least one is ordered now. can't justify money for that those shitty megs and ops molds | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792636) Posted by SentinelA on September 22nd, 2008 @ 4:06pm CDT Megatron might be worth getting along with Overkill. I'd like to see more pics of Dragstrips but there's he's not available on HTS. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792660) Posted by dragons on September 22nd, 2008 @ 4:22pm CDT looks like my question has been answerd looks to me these wont be selling in stores nothing against grimlock i dont like the pain theme on him call me old fashiond but when it comes to to transformer figures i like the oringal colors more than the repaints. unless if the repaint version is much better than the original like cybertron evac, or breakaway as hotshot repaint those i liked. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792680) Posted by Powersa on September 22nd, 2008 @ 4:36pm CDT I got the 2-pack Prime and Megs from Wal-Mart for $10 total last year. These repaints are not bad but I'm not sure about spending $16 plus tax and shipping to get one. | |
| Re: Transformers Universe Special Editions up on HTS (792733) Posted by Barrelass on September 22nd, 2008 @ 5:50pm CDT Ordered Overkill, now only 53-55 days of waiting to see how bad Hasbro destroys the nice box that he comes in. | |
