2. Is Lazerback gonna be the Predacon Bumblebee?
3. Not sure what to make of Arcee just yet. Need more pics.

Nice to see that Prime vs. Megatron image though. As far as I know that's the first time we've seen OP's upgraged form in CG. Beefy. Not quite Fatimus... Beefimus.

Vertebreak is an awesome name, and a pretty cool toy. Whilst I wish they were Deluxes, the Legion Terrorcons are pretty beast as well.

I am seriously digging those Terrorcons. I always thought Blot looked awesome. This Beast Hunters Abominus will fit right in with my Classics/Universe/Generations/Reveal The Shield Decepticons.

BH Arcee? I can wait for Generations now that I've got the FE version.
Terrorcons? looking darn good. It's also so awesome that they've made a whole 2 different weapons for Cyberverse toys.

Vertebreak is awesome, but unless he's in the show he can hang on the shelf forever more.
Since we're on the Website Update, if you get a little lag (like I did) you can spot the new background for the website, which includes Optimus Prime, Megatron, Arcee, Soundwave, Bumblebee, Knock Out, Ratchet, Starscream, Bulkhead, and Shockwave about to go head to head (to head to head to head...). Doesn't have Optimus' changed model, but I thought it was noteworthy.
Edit: Now I'm not so sure it's particularly new, as I went back to the Transformers Website and it was different than before, but I never noticed it.

Seriously, whats not to like.

So, I just went through the whole laboratory mission and there is a really cool video when you reach the main lab at the end. It shows Hun-Grr, Rippersnapper and Twinstrike running through the lab. Then there's a long slow stalking type walk by Skystalker (see what I did there). Then at the end Predaking breathes fire and they all escape through the hole he just opened. Also, it starts off with Shockwave running away from them and firing behind him before he hides. Pretty cool. Skystalker especially looked really sweet. This was all in a form of CGI so they all looked great and I must admit I really dig the bright colors on the Terrorcons. All of the Preds look pretty good together.
One last note, there is a section of "beast armor" Autobots where Huffer was listed along with all of the other ones already mentioned. Prowl was also shown, though the picture was actually cyberverse Smokescreen.
I really enjoy these viral ad campaigns and cannot wait for Beast Hunters! Though this makes me even sadder that it will end as soon as we all really get into it.

Transformers characters don't have anywhere near enough terrible puns in their names as it is. I'm glad to see someone at Hasbro is remedying this.
So, we've got Waves 3 and 4 revealed... my guess is we get the retools/redecos of Lazerback (again) and Ripclaw to fill out the numbers in Wave 5. Doesn't look like we're getting any deluxe scale Dinobots, I'm sad to say.
Still, plenty of bad guys to work with, which is always a plus in my book. I'll probably get Arcee so I can have all the revealed Autobots, but I'll need to see it in person before I'm absolutely sure. They didn't bother to make her nearly as distinct as the retools of Bumblebee, Wheeljack, and Ratchet.

It's Energon Arcee redux. She's a size class bigger and the weapon is STILL too big for her.

Also, this should connect to the video of the Predacons escaping the lab: http://beasthunters.transformers.com/en_US/research. I'm not sure if this will work though.

Beast Hunters Huffer, my fluffy read end. That's PCC Huffer there. Taking the lazy way out, Hasbro?

The color scheme is my favorite thing about that figure. Why does it have to conform to some old fantasy trope like "dragons must be either fire, poison, or ice and have corresponding colors?"

I'm not saying that it must, I'm saying that it looks like the designers couldn't decide on what it should look like. It's just weird to me that they would pick bold red, orange, green and blue in equal measure. It doesn't even really look like brightly coloured lizards/birds/frogs because it doesn't have a pattern, it just has parts in different colours. Something so simple as only being put together a bit more coherently would work wonders. It could make the choice of colours work.

That's true. If I felt like getting into serious repainting, I certainly wouldn't mind starting with Ripclaw. The mold looks alright.

It's not a lizard, a bird, or a frog. It's a robot, created by alien robots. I don't think the evil alien robot designers were worried about it blending into the forest canopy to hide from predators.

It's a toy designed by humans to appeal to humans. The other predacons don't display quite the same mess of colours, anyway, so the logic that it's meant to be alien doesn't apply very well.
Just look at Windrazor for a figure that uses four colours very well. Granted, the dirty white is more neutral, but the other colours are certainly bold. They work because they're put where they work instead of just all over.

Considering nearly a third of the Beast Hunters line are retools of earlier PRID figures, and we're already seeing redecoes of the new figures in the line, I'd say Hasbro got lazy a while ago.
To be fair, Hasbro has shown us a bunch of new fan favorite molds for Generations... maybe they're investing more effort there, where the figures don't have a TV show to help carry sales.

This SERIES isn't ending ...PRIME is ending. I just hope that it's not BOTCHED like the turn from BEAST WARS -> BEAST MACHINES.
They are going to continue the aligned continuity story, we just don't know how. I really hope they break away from Prime's group, and let us know what is going on with the others. Dinobots, Magnus and the others who REMAINED on Cybertron. I'd love to know what happened to Prowl after he was injured at Tripticon station. There are so many OTHER stories during the aligned continuity. PRIME/BEAST HUNTERS is just one of those.
We just have to wait and see...

He... he left the planet with Prime's crew aboard the Ark and remained a key player in the Autobots' missions on both Velocitron and Junkion. You haven't read Exiles?felinafullstop wrote:I'd love to know what happened to Prowl after he was injured at Tripticon station.

Unfortunately you are giving Hasbro too much credit on this one. VERTEBREAKER was actually the name of one of the demon characters from Todd McFarlane's Spawn comics. I wonder how HE would feel about Hasbro's use of the name Vertebreak...
Posted by Sodan-1 on February 17th, 2013 @ 7:09pm CST
I know we haven't yet seen her bike mode, but Arcee just doesn't look to have a significant enough of a difference from the RiD version to warrant a purchase in my opinion. But I could be proven wrong.
I don't collect Cyberverse figures, but I will be in the case of the Terrorcons. If they released these figures in the deluxe scale then I'd be set up for a major trouser crisis.
The wallpapers are cool and appreciated. Thanks.

And also kinda Dreadwing. It's not uncommon for the baddies to have one 'noble warrior' type who occasionally flirts with switching sides.
But as far as Dinobot goes, the retooling of Beast Hunters Ratchet has that covered.

Dinobot was more into Bushido-type honor than chivalry (that was Silverbolt's schtick).
And Dreadwing was willing to blow up Bulkhead in an underhanded booby trap. His brand of honor was more about loyalty and respect towards his master, as well as self-honesty.
"Chivalrous" wouldn't really fit for either of them, but there are admittedly some elements shared across all brands of honor.
