Loose joints are subjective, usually fixable, and varies case by case; I wouldn't be too worried

I got mine from BBTS. THey got a very small shipment in and filled a few preorders. I was luckily on that list

I like the way you see things and I see them the same way too. I dont need him to be a space shuttle per say but what would be fun about a space shuttle would be the assurance that we are getting something new with this figure. Since there is nothing new about the molding here, the toy feels like it is giving less added value aside from having another jet limb but now in a different colour.
I dont see this release any different than say... this:

Indeed you are, I just figured it a 'reviewer privilege' and watched the video;
Did you get an Onslaught? They aren't cased together, but didn't know if they got any of those too...

We reviewers don't get as many privileges as people seem to think lol. No i didn't get Onslaught but i have that preordered as well. I had heard a rumor that him and SCattershot were due in Monday at retailers. Not specifically BBTS mind you. But it should be soonish i would imagine.

What? Like target - brick'n'mortar retailers, or, arriving at bbts retailers?

I saw it was posted on some ebay page selling them. They said they were coming in stock on Monday for them. I would imagine it would be soon for the other online retailers, maybe a little later for actual stores

So what is it about Brawl that makes him so dissapointing? Is it just on the looseness?

I'm not worried, more like impatient. I really want to see Swindle and Brawl, and I am very excited for the combaticons to come. I just want to see some reviews!

Mine's combiner thingy is also misassembled, with the part that connects the thumb/heel to the main part put in upside down, so it doesn't fold up quite right. If not for the stupid pins, it would be an easy fix.

Blast off makes a lot of sense as a jet. The space shuttle was just too dang big of an alt mode.

Seems to be about the same size as the other components

Not a big deal, it's just weird that his is different, even from Sunstreaker and Mirage that were from the same wave.
My Sunstreaker came with flat paper instructions, I assumed it was standard for wave 4 (he's my only wave 4 purchase). Sounds from your comment like it's not, which is weirder.

My second Motormaster (the one that came with Battle Core OP) came on the same dull paper, almost like it was photocopied. I thought it was weird too.

I preordered Combaticons as soon as I got the email notification the preorder was available. I didn't get a notice of them being in stock either (even though I have in the past, most notably Leader Ultra Magnus). So, it must have been a really small shipment.

I just couldnt resist.
But you know guys in all honesty, I do not understand why people need to bring up the idea of realism in a series where a sentient robot looks like this:
Or this
or this:
A space shuttle being the same size as a tank is not what is stopping this concept from being any more realistic.
And we joke that G1 throws scale out the window but its Beast Wars that makes alt mode scale something really silly.

There's supposed to be a military type Spaceshuttle that isn't the size of the default "Astrotrain" type. And if you follow the original show, Blastoff never served to transport the Combaticons. He just pulled the asteroid they were exiled to remember? Now if he was a mass shifter like Astrotrain, he would have had got his buddies in him.
So the oversized Blastoff argument does not hold water.

I preordered Onslaught. No news on him yet. But, related to this, do we know when/how the running change will be released? Is the second version of Onslaught case mates with Sky Lynx?

Well, there was that ONE time...
Then again, that scene also has all the Combaticons AND Bruticus in the same shot, so I guess we'll call it a wash.
Basically, it depends on how much you're willing to spend on a (rumored) shuttle, as opposed to the more widely available jet. I'll be happy with the domestic release.

If you look close enough, Bruticus is running to hop into Blastoff (who is the arm of said Bruticus)

That's all just personal preference. I'm curious as to what Takara is going to do. I'm guessing a massive retool to Alpha Bravo to make a space shuttle. I think that's cool.
I only wished Hasbro would have really jumped on the "unique" combiner idea and released these Takara limbs (maybe as new characters) so we had a variety of display options. Although I like Rook and Hasbros Blast-off, I'd like the option to also have Deluxe Groove and G1 Blast-off
Posted by Cobotron on November 16th, 2015 @ 10:32am CST
I think you will. I feel pretty confident that Hasbro will do to Takara Groove and Blastoff, what they did with Brake-Neck and Quickslinger. Speculation of course, but it seems logical.Optimizzy wrote: Although I like Rook and Hasbros Blast-off, I'd like the option to also have Deluxe Groove and G1 Blast-off

I had heard the rumor that one of the reasons deluxe Groove was out of Hasbro's hands was that it incorporated clear plastic, putting it out of the standard deluxe price point. Don't know if The true or how much clear plastic offsets the cost, just what I remember hearing.

Beast Wars used the robot mode scale and simply applied the animal alt mode to the size of the robot mode. Alt mode scale never came into play in the show, as they didn't have mass shifting, probably being too energy intensive to pull off and was lost in the Great Upgrade. As for G1... well, they were called Archaic Energon guzzlers, probably because in part they could mass shift.
Anyhoo, I never understood the demand for alt mode scale. One would think, with how most folks go on about how they display their collection in robot mode, folks would want robot mode scale.

Believe me, I hope that doesn't end up being the case. When this same year they distributed two exclusives through online retailers fairly successfully, I find it hard to believe that they could find a way to get these two out.
It'd be one thing if it was just a Japanese exclusive, but a group-only mall exclusive? THAT'S low.

It's probably not the clear plastic that's the problem, it probably the assembly of a seperate piece. I thought the same thing at first. It would be less expensive if the windshield was injection molded the same time as the parts it connects with. Then it would only need a slap of paint.Optimizzy wrote:Shuttershock wrote:Cobotron wrote:Ugh. I could see that being the case.Shuttershock wrote:Cobotron wrote:I think you will. If it cost more to produce, I'd be willing pay more the difference for that sweet mold, but how much? $2-3 more at the most seems fair. Any other thoughts on the offset production cost for that extra piece adds?
And isn't there a few other extra transparent lights on the tail end?

Actually, it IS new. It has a hole on the bottom of the foot, used to plug in to the top of Brawl. You can clearly see there is a peg to flip up from the back of the turret that the foot can plug into like the one on top of Rook.
Also, I am in utter disbelief that the torso would not lock into place. It looked like it wasn;t clicked back far enough.

We were talking about the Blastoff review, and just the gun, not the hand/foot gun (even though for Blastoff they are both the same)

Yeah, it ain't rocket science, just mold the parts in white plastic. It can be that simple, anything else is hasbro just being stingy

I thought the same thing at first. It would be less expensive if the windshield was injection molded the same time as the parts it connects with. Then it would only need a slap of paint.
If it cost more to produce, I'd be willing pay more the difference for that sweet mold, but how much? $2-3 more at the most seems fair. Any other thoughts on the offset production cost for that extra piece adds?
And isn't there a few other extra transparent lights on the tail end?
Edit to fix and say...
Well, part of his guns. Not exactly sure what's going on there.
Yeah, it ain't rocket science, just mold the parts in white plastic. It can be that simple, anything else is hasbro just being stingy
Question I'm wondering is: if deluxe Groove is released separately, how much are you willing to pay for extra engineering (if that is the case here)? I'm thinking 18-20$; it's a pretty dope mold and I loves me some motoslickle robits.

I think $25 would be my upper limit. And I'd have to be able to work out free shipping at that price or that include shipping.Optimizzy wrote:groove is so well designed Id pay $25 for him, even if they do the whole exclusive thing
I was able to get free shipping for QS and BN via Amazon when those first went live.

I paid more for both of them but it was worth it to me. I'm more interested with actually being able to get them without buying a whole set

Plus it would make a custom Renegades Combiner I've been thinking about feasible.
