We've seen a couple of iterations of the new Robots in Disguise Grimlock already, and very little of newcomer Sideswipe - but why not venture in the still very little realm of Legion class figures for this weekend? Check out below a review of the second wave of the line's figures, courtesy of Seibertron.com member chuckdawg1999.

After the Wave 1 RID Legion figures left me a touch flat, I was hoping that Grimlock and Sideswipe would really wow me. While the paint details and overall design is top notch. They just didn't grab me. Sideswipe is your standard car design but the paint is the same metallic red that was found on Legends Windcharger. Grimlock has an inventive transformation that takes it cues from the Warrior figure, but comes off very stiff. Overall I recommend going for the Wave 2 Warriors before these Legion figures.

The Hasbro Brazil website has listed some new Titan Hero figures. These two new figures are electronic versions of the previously announced Titan Hero Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. These appear to use the exact same mold as those two non-electronic Titan Hero figures. The only visual difference are a series of holes along the figure for the sounds to be heard as well as a mele weapon included with the toy.

Are the eloctronics removable so it can double as a shampoo bottle for bubble baths ?

Pass. Hasbro must be getting semi-decent sales from these things otherwise they wouldn't keep making them. Not for me, thanks. If I buy a glorified shampoo bottle, I actually want shampoo in it.

Yes, because a character from a children's cartoon has to be SUPER SERIOUS AND MOODY.

The horse, while not fully decomposed, is very visibly dead. Any attempts at beatings or other violence are unnecessary.

This is Z-Nation. The horse came back from the dead so we beat it so hard its blood started to bleed. ;)

We've seen the galleries already, but in an amusing turn of events the Seibertron.com store sold one to fellow user chuckdawg1999 - who has shared a video review with us, coming full circle!

Hyperchange Optimus Prime is a fun figure, existing as a halfway point between One-Step Changers and Power Battlers. The figure while simple is dense and solid with plastic, giving it a heft that I've missed over the last few years. One flaw is the size doesn't make it optimal for desk toy status, but that shouldn't detract you from seeking this rolling power of awesomeness out!

That was a new commercial. The previously released commercial did not have finished audio and did not mention the warrior class transformers.

In-continuity namesakes become extremely common when Mini-Cons come into play. Look at Armada, Energon, Cybertron and especially within the Mini-Con Groups themselves.

At this point, I'm going to say that the only internal consistency with TF:RID is strictly with the TF:Prime cartoon and NOTHING else. No comics, video games, packaging bios, pack-in stories, or ANYTHING ELSE ancillary to the TF:Prime cartoon, even if otherwise regarded as official or cannon stories. At best, I think the "aligned continuity" is proving just to be another continuity family with several different flavors involved (WfC/FoC games, versus novelizations, versus cartoon, versus toy fiction, versus whatever else). At worst, I think Hasbro just doesn't care, and spent a whole lot of time, energy, and money rebooting their Transformers brand continuity for the modern age to simply give up on it and not care a scant few years later. Long story short, don't try to make sense of any of it. Continuity only works for the aligned universe if you isolate the stories by media outlet (videogames, books, shows, etc.). Across media, the fiction doesn't complement itself.

To me, the WFC/FOC games are as linked to the Aligned continuity presented in Prime as the Marvel comics were linked to the G1 continuity presented in the show.

It's stories using the same characters and backstories but not necessarily linked to eachother more than that.

I agree, but there's one problem. In TF:Prime, Unit E was set up specifically to deal with Decepticon threats on Earth. I believe a prison ship crashing on Earth would be exactly what they're meant to deal with. But instead, the TF:RID allies are a dad and his kid who run a junkyard?

They'd better explain that awful quick when the series starts.

Hoping that the Rid Minicon deployers bigger figures are Voyager class and are fully articulated. If they are, Then I plan to buy Fracture. The skeptic in me thinks The bigger figures are only Deluxe class toys.

Have plans to buy that Three step Transformation Voyager class Steeljaw toy. Think the character design from the Deluxe toy will translate nicely into a Three step Voyager toy.

Probably going to be picking up a few minicons. Especially the ones named after the 1986 Predacons. Just hoping they look like the characters.

Still on the fence whether I want to buy the Warrior Deluxe class Steeljaw toy or not. Might be tempted to buy a black Repaint called Ravage. Think if Hasbro doesn't do it, TFCC will.

If it helps in any way, I love Steeljaw.

Contrary to what every reviewer has shown other than Seibertron, it stands perfectly fine. It's just that people keep mis transforming the legs and it throws the balance off. Once you realize where the legs need to and WANT to be (there is an indicator as to where the legs should be for it to stand), it stands pretty well. It seems most people go past this point and have problems because of it. If you go backwards from the point I just mentioned and move the legs slightly (like a millimeter) back into vehicle mode it can even stand with it's tail and arms pointed straight back and not fall over. The legs also want to stand at an "A" stance because that's where the flat parts of the feet are. Most reviewers seemed to ignore that just so they could have something to complain about. Speaking of complaining, the arm flaps don't matter. So what if they're a little loose, it's not like you're going to be smacking them around once it's displayed on a shelf. I've seen people brush off hips that are so loose that they do the splits every single time you stand the figure but loose arm flaps are what sets everyone off? Just stop people and cut it out, the arm flaps are far from a real problem.

What is bad though are the arms but even then they're not THAT bad. When you try to bend them normally at the elbow, the pin in the elbow will begin to slide back as if it were transforming into vehicle mode. Just remember to give a slight pull on the arms to make sure it's lined up properly before bending the elbow. Also while the shoulders do have good range of motion, they look weird when you move the arms outward because of where they put that hinge. However, it needed to be like that in order to get that joint due to how the arms transform but it is unsightly.

Are there a LOT of questionable and bad design choices with Steeljaw? Yes, absolutely. There are many things that could have and should have been done better.

Is the figure bad because of them? Hell no. Most problems people are having with it are user based and not necessarily the fault of the design choices.

Speculating it will be a G1 Autobot Steeljaw update toy done in Yellow.

Guessing if anyone does the Black repaint and calls it Ravage it will be TFCC.

I wouldnt bet on that yellow repaint since he is being called "Snarl".

A "Steel Joe" he's not

This listing may not necessarily be correct however. Either that, or TAV10 Snarl (the Animated Dinobot) may need to get renamed.

Ha, I love that Steel Joe and Load Block. Yeah, that might be an error, but they changed it recently. He used to just be called "Wolf".

That's Fracture's Deployer gimmick. Kinda looks like a disc shooter to be honest, the discs being the Mini-Cons. Drift will have the same gimmick.

Oy, the way they're using the term "Deployer" is gonna confuse a lotta people. The term is meant to refer to the kind of TF (usually a Minicon) that is bonded to a larger TF like Soundwave or Blaster. It's essentially a modern day replacement for "Cassette" since none of them turn into cassettes.

To put it into more understandable terms, Rumble, Frenzy, Ravage, Laserbeak, etc. are all Minicons who are Soundwave's Deployers.

Was really excited for the Deployers... but if they look like that, no thanks. I'll just stick with the standard Warrior versions.
