So did he just fall over? OOPS!
Railbomb wrote: Really curious how big the pilots are compared to some of the recent generations toys like Hot Spot or Whirl or Jetfire/Thundercracker that seem to have a place about the same size for a pilot (or in Hot Spots case a firefighter for his bucket).
I think they are the same size as the originals. The one in the middle is the reboot. The other two are OGs.
The originals are just a little too big for Hot Spot's bucket, but it's still fun.

I am also silently hoping that this means some of the OG Diaclone/ Diakron toys might get a reissue as well down the line.
Regardless of whether that happens, I am interested to see more and more of these guys.

So true they look great, minimal cost cutting from the look of these pictures. The quality does look pretty high!

That looks pretty cool. I like how it has a retro feel to it, very late seventies, eighties feel to the whole animated sequence.

I dont recall us knowing it's price yet.

Nothing on price yet. Or size for that matter. Judging from the comparison of the old and new pilots, I bet this toy is small. Each vehicle could be as small as a deluxe. the pilots are teeny weeny tiny. In fact, *grabs a pilot and a ruler*, 1 and 1/8 inch.NuclearConvoy wrote:Hellscream9999 wrote:Shame, really, that these look to be so big and (assumingly) expensive I've never had the money to buy masterpiece or larger figures, and these look great, since they are apparently megazords done right (poseable) I would be all over these if they were smaller (voyager-ultra class) and less expensive.

Unless the OG toys came with bigger pilots than what came with the Diaclone release TFs.

That's actually really good to know. Easier to shoehorn onto my shelves if it's not ginormous. My girlfriend actually understands why I love diaclone so much when I explained to her the interesting back and forth history of Transformers between Japan and North America. She probably won't complain when she sees this. Lol. She's never complained about my collection before, but I am anticipating that as it continues to grow she may think otherwise.

Agreed...although I don't mind stepping outside the realm every now and then. Still waiting on an update for Baxingar. Hopefully someone posts the links for preorder info.

That vehicle mode looks rad. Wish we had more detailed pics available for the other two vehicles as well. I also hope this gets some more release details soon.

These pictures show the 3 vehicles (which are dsigned to repesent mobility in different environments such as underwater or in space) as well as their combined vehicle form and, of course, their combined giant robot form. Enjoy!

It looks like a nice homage to the original, but I just don't see it meshing with my collection.

This is the main reason I hawk AmiAmi (even though i like Transformers just fine).
Just waiting for this guy to show up.
I hope these toy fairs yield some new pics of the pilots.

I dont think this should be treated under the same scrutiny as a transformer toy. This is a mech, not a sentient being and thus he whole point of the machines is that they do have components of the larger robot, like Powerrangers. So a visible head is a bit more forgiveable.

It is the original stereotypical "heroic" colors of Japanese super robot genre. Optimus too shares the colors old red, white and blue. Gundam, Starsaber, heck even Starscream (sort of)

Theres another japanese robot toy that shares that same color scheme. Cobotron, would you care to illuminate us?

Microman, Robotman. 1975 - 1977
Diabattle's Dad, Optimus's Grandpa

But are you comparing it to standard transformers or to its original source? This technically is more akin to a megazord than a combining transformer.

I know all about that but in the video animation we saw it was a perfect transformation. Besides in 2015 a MP grade combining figure should at least have the option to do perfect transformation. SOC Voltes V did that, and then you could "Enhance" the look with part swapping.

I'd have no problem seeing it repainted as such or Scrash or even Jhiaxus.
