For most National Basketball Association players, getting your own shoe or action figure is a dream come true, but it seems that one very popular NBA player is upping the ante.

Chinese born basketball player Yao Ming has, apparently, gotten his own Transformer! Taking the form of a basketball, this Transformer changes into a super hero type figure that resembles the NBA hoop star.

Talk about a weird twist on Pretenders and Headmasters. Check out more pics at the original post here.

Replace the head, add some paint and you have a cool niche market Tformer. It would go well with my shoeformers and Music Label Soundwave.

Being a Die hard Rockets and Yao Ming fan, I might considering picking this up if its not too expensive.

I really don't see any resemblance to the movie TFs at all.

That thing has to be a bi*** to balance with all that back kibble. Still, a very interesting transforming toy. I'd hesitate to call it a Transformer though.

I agree. It makes me think of the Super Globetrotters cartoon from the 70's.

Oh, what the heck. Call me a sellout, I'm buy him.

Know all we need is a Derrek Jeter baseball, a Payton Manning Football, a Wayne Gretzky hockey puck, and probably a David Beckem (sp) soccer ball and we would have...Sportsformers! Sports stars in disquise!

The other day when I was in TRU in noticed some robot football player figures that had "transforming" heads. In full robot mode they are wearing helmets that somehow can be swapped for NFL players faces.

Wow. Talk about LAME. This is honestly pathetic. So do I get my own transformer version of myself since Im cooler than a basketball player. I hope the factory producing these melts down along with all the molds. This is retarded.

Hmm, I don't get some of you guys- this thing is utterly unique, and you're piling hate on it. I'm not trying to start a fight, I'm just puzzled- I for one am into the strange TFs, and I'd buy this in a minute if the price were right. Which I imagine for us in the US it will not be.

I don't get all the hate either. This isn't a Transformers licensed product and I don't see how it really infringes on anything. I wouldn't go out of my way to buy this, but if I saw it in a store somewhere I might pick it up just for the novelty of it all.

This is what I love about TF fans. They start screaming the minute someone utters repaint and are whining over a mold that's new. I'll something is horribly wrong when the entire fandom starts agreeing on anything TF.

Also, do we have any idea on whether or not this is an actual TF product?
