I'm getting the set, but I had been planning that since before they muted it.

Of course I am a fan of most Combining Transformers as well. Original TF being my favorite. however not to nitpick but... Might you be referring more to Energon rather than Armada? -Energon had "Combination Sparks" for almost every Autobot, 3 Gestalt combiners etc... Whereas Armada only had a few minicon team combiners The Optimus/Jetfire/Overload combination & Megatron/Tidalwave.

o.supreme wrote:I actually gave up at Cybertron as well. I got most of the Energon toys I wanted, but having a couple kids certainly does change your priorities. In fact at one point I actually had Cybertron Primus in a Basket at Target next to my (almost) 1 year old son. Though it pained me, I put the toy back. --It's been almost 10 years since I collected any TF toys (always kept up on comics, animation & movies)
But the CW/UW line has brought me back.

Otherwise I'm looking forward to having these ladies on my shelf.
I love the hands and the feet. They are such an improvement over the boxing gloves that turn into midget sneakers. If hasbro went this route with all the combiners and ditched to pointless "hands/feet must do something", perfect effect would never have jumped in with add on sets. I got a Tupperware full of hasbro fists already just sitting there taking up space.
...Or alternatively they still would have made them as an option for people who like their hands and feet to not become useless wastes of storage space when not attached to a combiner. Hopefully PE makes a set of replacement hands and feet that actually do something for the Torchbearers as opposed to just sitting there. They've done it for all the other combiners so I don't see why they wouldn't do it for her.
You have this complex that everything must do something. I grew up with G1 toys so I dont share that complex. Nothing is more annoying on the hotspot/mold than having combiner head kibble stuck on the vechicle or robot modes. I wish it were detachable so I could just throw it in a box when Im not using it. I could care less where combiner the hands hide in alt mode. I use my imagination. Everything doesnt need a scientific explanation. (Like mass shifting for example) Just think of it as alien technology and stop trying to hold it to the laws of earth science. Annoying parts kibble ruins all the fun. Ditto for guns that look like feet and feet that look like guns.
You have this complex that cartoon space magic is an excuse for lazy engineering. I grew up with self-contained Transformers toys so I don't share that complex. Nothing is more annoying on the "second generation" Hasbro combiners (Vicky, Computron and Liokaiser) and many expensive third party combiners than large amounts of the combined mode having nothing to do outside of combined mode. I wish the parts actually did something so they weren't just more parts to keep track of and take up space when they aren't combined. I couldn't care less if the combined mode proportions aren't perfect. I don't display them in combined mode all the time anyway. Things which are only explainable via "cartoon space magic" need to be gotten rid of (like mass shifting for example). Just think of it as common sense and stop trying to hold it to the rules of a 30 year old merchandise driven cartoon. Annoying useless parts ruin all the fun. Ditto for simplified cheap-looking combiner kibble with nothing to do outside of one mode.

So now the guy who considers KOs to be highly unethical is resorting to plagiarism? And for someone who accuses G1 toy engineering of being lazy, why are you being so lazy? Write your own comment from scratch instead of altering mine to fit your beliefs. Its not "cute"...its sad. And its the worst case of the pot calling the kettle black ive ever seen.

Can you provide any sensible reason for why it would've been rigged? (or evidence.) I don't see people getting excited because of the fan-built label, when I see people getting excited it's because there's an entirely new combiner, because they like the design and (particularly) because it's nice to introduce 6 (7?) new female characters to the toyline. None of these qualities are dependent on it being "fanbuilt".Rodimus Prime wrote:I think this whole thing was rigged, and the figure had been chosen by those in charge before the voting ever took place. So the voting results may not even be legit. I have the same opinion regarding the voting on which Titan Class figure should be done next, but that's for the thread concerning the Titans.
The "genderless" excuse is more than a little lazy. From day 1 Transformers have been heavily rooted in how humanized they are, saturated in diverse tropes/archetypes, and have really benefited from that, so minimizing the representation of half of the human species in the Transformers' designs is really limiting.Rodimus Prime wrote:(aren't Transformers supposed to be genderless?
MaverickPrime wrote:I still think the colors are messed up, they should've toned down the red, not the turquoise, could someone please digibash it to show how it would look that way? And still, they need a third color, some black on the thighs would nicely break up the hot red mess.
Lockdown91 wrote:I think they look better than they originally did, the muted colours look a little better than the garish bright clashing colours, but I think they have now ended up bland, perhaps a little black could have been used to break up the palette a little, did a quick photoshop as an example.
I think Pyra Magna looks the best.

That's not necessarily true, the initial figures were likely hand painted, and as seen at various fairs and conventions, the hand painted figures rarely look exactly like the colored plastic they're molded in

I fear it wouldn't last very long. He brings up the same points over and over again and then gets upset when I demolish them. When X stops posting the same crappy arguments I will have no reason to continue bulldozing them. As long as he keeps on sh!tting up the forum with his meaningless drivel, well...

Deadput wrote:MegaDump wrote:Have they no shame? Two helicopters who share the same mold & colour scheme as limbs for one combiner? Very lazy, especially the fact that this mold has already been used for Alpha Bravo, Vortex & Blades to name a few.
Justified since they are pretty different from the other uses of the Alpha Bravo mold story wise they are twins but they don't look exactly the same such as different heads and reversed patterns on their chest plates..
