I'll be down for a Round 3. Won't get much participaion from me though. The nuclear power plant will be going through a refueling outage at the end of the month and last until the end of October. I will have to work 12 hour days and hardly any of it will be at my desk. I'll participate when I can but not like I did in Round 2.

I'm in for round 3.

Concerning the other apparent point of this thread, I don't want to hear any complaints about how people communicate on the internet. I can understand what is being said here most of the time. It's the undereducated backwoods dropouts I deal with in real life I have problems with.

If I level up to L5 right now, there would be no missions I could participate in and no opponents to fight in the arena. Fighting in the arena is substantially more profitable for me right now than participating in missions. My bots are maxed out at Level 4, while my opponents are low to mid level Level 4 bots. That is why my team arena average is around 80% while my opponents average is considerably less. Initially by leveling up to L5 and participating in L5 missions, the rate at which I accrue XP will drop. This has always been the case for me as I level up. As time moves on, my bots' skills expand. Eventually, my opponents will level up as well, at which point I will return to spending more time in the arena. That has been my strategy to get to the top and it works. I don't think anyone would fault me for coming up with a strategy to reach the #1 spot.

It just stinks because I strongly suspect the L2-L4 missions could be easily changed to L2-L5 missions. This would allow my bots to make progress for several months. Otherwise, I will need to try to convince all of the other L4 commanders to level up so we can continue to fight in the arena.

RoS last I checked Ultra magnus could be a level 6... and while i would love something to do with the 700k Col. Mustard is sittin on, lvl 5 missions just won't happen.
but hell, mags has 2 mill more xp than my top guy.. you actually have a significant enough lead that it really doesn't matter what we do... also i just don't see 2-5 practical. a 5 could take out 5-6 lvl 2's. also i think You, me, and maybe GS are the only ones who have the xp to make decent 5's currently, and if mogs version 2 is on schedule its not that big of a deal anymore. i'd like to have some 5's, but oh well. next version.

gonna be sad i don't get to fight bots AND cons in the next version i'mma lose half my targets

as for a round 3... whatever.. if its there i'll play. hate the record keepin tho...

and leave the damn u out of armor. its unnecessary. makes the word look like it has a birth defect

You completely contradict yourself.

Yes, the objective of the game is to level up.

People level up by feeding off higher levels.

You say introducing level 5 missions will help, but then you say that it's not profitable for you.

Here's the thing, that's the way the game works. Those at the top are nothing more than xp generators. That's how the game has been.

So even if we could introduce level 5 missions, what's the point? It's not going to make a difference. You're still going to sit in the arena.

You would have more competition if you entered missions and allowed some lower levels a crack at the higher level xp.

What I seem to be hearing from you is selfishness. You want the game changed to accommodate you, but you have no intention of helping the game as a whole to grow.

I don't fault your strategy. I employed it myself for years.

But I also took the time to deploy to missions on a regular basis. In fact I had a lot of lower levels wanting to challenge me. I knew and they knew they stood absoloutely no chance but they were happy to just "scratch" one of my high level bots because it would earn them more xp than what they would be use to.

I didn't earn base xp, but what I got were newer players coming to the forum and joining in the community. We all had fun even though it was one-sided.

So for the final time (and I swear, if I have to say it to you again I WILL issue you with a warning), the current version of this game will NOT be worked on. There will be NO CHANGES MADE.

Yes, YOU could probably fix it. But the simple fact is with a new version in the pipeline Ryan (aka the site owner) doesn't want anyone wasting any time on this current version.

So like I said, if you really want to help out this game then dump your level 4's into missions and get some healthy competition going.

It is not surprising you haven't experienced it. This is something GS and I talked about a length some six months ago when L4 missions were first introduced. You sacrifice profitable arena bouts in the short term for a chance to acquire more upgrades. This will eventually result in a faster accrual of XP in the long term.

Oh, right. That makes sense. I am gong to sit in the arena even though I made the offer to attempt to fix the code so that we would have L5 Missions. Right. I am going to go through all of that effort to implement functionality I have no intention of using. Brilliant.

You have crossed the line buddy. We have disagreed on many things in the past, but I have never called into question your character. The issue I see here is that I speak my mind. I don't have a problem expressing my disagreement with the direction of HMW 1&2. There is nothing wrong with that. I was fairly confident OS' HMW2 was never going to happen, yet I was ridiculed almost every time I shared that viewpoint. If you want to foster interest in the game and in this site, you must accept challenging viewpoints. In challenging the wisdom of some of the decisions regarding HMW, I never called into question the motivation or character of those I disagreed with.

There will be no changes to the current game. V2 is right around the corner. This discussion is moot.
