Is it? The hands look the same. But the eyes are yellow, and the nose is blue. The face looks different
It's wearing the severed head accessory that comes with Comic Edition Shockwave.TK415 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:The same Prime that's in every picture?TK415 wrote:What Prime is that under bumblebee?

The thing about Ultra Magnus that a lot of people don't realize is that he was a size-changer in the cartoon. Not as extreme as Megatron and Soundwave were, but when he transformed, he shrank when going from vehicle to robot mode. His truck cab was equal in size and shape to Optimus's, and his car carrier trailer was about the same size as Optimus's trailer; both of which were big enough to carry some of their smaller Autobot Car comrades. But in robot mode, the entirety of Ultra Magnus's combined cab-and-trailer robot mode was only a head taller than Optimus's cab-only robot mode.Emerje wrote:I guess I can see why they made Ultra Magnus so ridiculously oversized, but now I'm thinking the Dinobots are too small.![]()

Sabrblade wrote:So, it's a lose-lose situation when trying to make a toy of him: Either his vehicle mode ends up being too small in order to make his robot mode the right size, or his robot mode ends up being gargantuan (just like his original G1 toy) in order to make his vehicle mode big enough to accommodate Deluxe class Autobot Cars.
Evan has previously said that if they were to do a SS86 Astrotrain, it would likely just be a redeco of Siege Astrotrain, indicating that they care more about Astrotrain's robot mode scale instead (likely wanting to keep him and Blitzwing the same/similar height).-Kanrabat- wrote:Sabrblade wrote:So, it's a lose-lose situation when trying to make a toy of him: Either his vehicle mode ends up being too small in order to make his robot mode the right size, or his robot mode ends up being gargantuan (just like his original G1 toy) in order to make his vehicle mode big enough to accommodate Deluxe class Autobot Cars.
About making an SS86 Astrotrain that can change into a vehicle of the right size?
So that his... transport functions are movie accurate?

Its kind of like Basic Instinct, but not in a good way...
Goddammit, now I can't unsee it.

The explanation is in the post
It's the commander 86 Prime with the head that came with comic Shockwave

So you want a toy that can Transform into a bot the equivalent size of Megatron, but can form a space shuttle big enough for SS86 Devastator to fit in it as well as almost the entire Decepticon cast? Yeah...laws of physics called...quoting Scotty...
