I don't think that's really a fair call to say that Scavenger or any BW Megas were underrated. A lot of BW Megas were really cool and fun. It's just that several of them had the misfortune of ending up as shelfwarmers. Inferno, B'Boom, Transquito, Scavenger, there was just so much stock of them for sale left over. I guess everyone who wanted them got one while the stores simply bought too many of each of them.Nemesis Maximo wrote:Beast Wars Transmetal Scavenger. That guy is the bestest most underrated toy ever. I frikkin love this figure, but he was a shelfwarmer back in the day.

Seems Scavenger wasn't named "Inferno" because of how the Inferno toy was still shelfwarming. I guess Hasbro didn't want two toys of the same character in the same size class on the shelves at the same time.Emerje wrote:Sabrblade wrote:I don't think that's really a fair call to say that Scavenger or any BW Megas were underrated. Didn't help that only a few were actually featured in the show. Scorponok sold well, Inferno picked up eventually, and of course TM Optimus and Megatron sold easily enough. But the others, especially B'Boom and Transquito, sold terribly. I have to wonder if naming Scavenger Inferno would have done anything for his sales?

Emerje wrote:Did Inferno really sell that badly? I don't remember seeing too many of them back in the day and they certainly weren't lingering with B'Boom and Transquito. Was he re-released with one of them, they were around forever? I don't think anything sold worse than the BM Megas, nobody wanted a tiny Megatron, a lanky Cheetor, and a green Rattrap. Tankor sold alright while BP Optimus Prime may as well have been a KB exclusive, you couldn't buy him anywhere else.
