Yes, it does sound like you got swindled.
I'm sorry, I shouldn't make light of your misfortune, but it was all but killing me that no one had said it.

It's fine, I'm used to it, sure magnus hurt - twice, and swindle kinda made me lose hope in hasbro, but this means that if I ever do find him at retail, I can hopefully get one that doesn't make me want to kill myself :(

But I'm not holding my breath >:oP

Eh, don't sweet it. I have to wait a bit to see what the final plans shake out as, but I may have to purchase a Bruticus box set. I refuse, flat out, to buy a jet "Blast Off". That was the laziest thing I've ever seen Hasbro do. Hasbro looked at the fans and stated, "we know you will buy this anyway, so we won't even pretend to give a ****." :BANG_HEAD:

Anyway, I'm not buying anymore combaticons (assuming I can resist impulse) until I figure out how I'm getting a real Blast Off. If I have to purchase Swindle all over again, maybe I'll send you mine.

I'll admit, I'm secretly hoping Hasbro does the right thing, and offers a real Blast Off and a proper Groove down the road. Hell, if they offer groove, I might even be willing to buy the rest of the protectobot repaints.

Thanks ;) I personally don't care about blast offs vehicle, except that a jet makes much more sense than a shuttle on a team called the combaticons... I always thought it was weird as a kid (movor from rid and pictures of the g1 combaticons)

It's more that I like the idea of getting :CON: uses of the jet limbs, which make for excellent limbs over all.

And I've long since held to the idea of a hasbro release of bigroove and blast off, it'd be such a missed opportunity if they didn't - it'd be very unlike them to not capitalize on it 8-}

More gappy, splitty Combaticon weirdness alerts. My Brawl seems to be having similar problems as Hellscream's Swindle. In vehicle and leg mode something is preventing his treads(arms and legs)from fully tabbing together. Seems like it's possibly the thighs or hips on the leg treads and the tabs and holes themselves for the arm treads. I hadn't bothered with either alt mode or leg until tonight because I don't have Onslaught yet but all the QC crap going down had me worried. :HEADHURTS:

Secondary minor gripe- His HFG has a very loose thumb/heel spur.

How well does your Hound hold together? Apparently Swindle might have some issues, and if those problems are apparent in Hound, as well, that might be quite telling.

Hellscream mentioned something about that. I bought Swindle the other day and he is just fine. Everything fits together perfectly, and when I placed him as an arm, I found him to be one of the most stable limbs in that mode.

Yeah, my Swindle is very stable in all modes.

And Death, I wasn't even alive until about 15-20 years after the release of G1 Onslaught, so no chance of that lying around.

So far my Combaticon deluxes are all pretty good. Even Brawl's infamous flappy crotch doesn't seem to pull loose very easily from mine unless I push it. A little floor polish in the hinge and I think it might actually be pretty solid.

As I have been around since the dawn of time, I DO have old G1 Onslaught's gun - along with G1 Onslaught himself. But CW Bruticus just looks so cool when he's packing legends shockwave....

Mine has an absurdly loose heel/thumb.

Dunno what's wrong with your brawl, holding mine right now, can you post pics, I could try and figure it out; could be something as minor as excess flashing, unless you mean that, in arm mode the legs won't stay together, which is a known issue, one that I have, maybe a little floor polish :-? had to scrape out the sockets on my vortex, just so he could move his legs :HEADHURTS:

I haven't tried arm mode but in leg and tank modes the middle section of his treads(the forearms in bot mode) have gaps on either side. I can kind close one side but the other pops open revealing the gaps. Close that side and the opposite happens. I'll post some pics once I'm done messing with this abomination of a combiner I'm calling Optimus Disastrous. ;)^

Just a short opinion post:

I think CW Ultra M wasn't meant to scale well with the Leader Megatrons and Seekers, but rather scale well with the other recent and future G1 season 3 character releases such as Cyclonus, Galvatron, and Springer for example. I think the season 1 characters such as Megs and the Seekers were meant to scale well with Devy and MPs.

He's got the bad hips OP, the gappy Brawl, the Bombshell that doesn't want to stick together for gun mode, and the loose armed and wide fisted Blast Off who can't hold his gun. Rest of his crew is pretty solid though, would need your Swindle and some other QC rejects to truly make him disastrous

Anyway here's the problem I was having with Brawl:

Image
one side in leg mode

Image
other side in tank mode.

It was basically the same on either side in either mode depending on which side I was able to press together. If I pressed both treads together then the middle of the underside would split open slightly.

Though after really working the tab slots and smashing him in my hands with considerable pressure on all sides I now have less of a gap on both treads. Likely not the best method for a fix, but it's probably the way Brawl would have wanted it. Brute force rather than careful shaving or whatever it was he really needed. I'm still worried he won't hold together well in the future but for now it's passable I suppose.

Guys, I had this too, but it isn't a defect. I had him slightly mis-transformed. The directoins might have also been unclear on one of the steps. I'm currently in Dubai and I don't remember exactly what was out of place. I believe it was something with the crotch/waist piece needing to be turned a certain way and they lined up perfectly. But I was definitely in your position wondering if I got a bad QC run or if the design was flawed. I'll check mine out when I get back home next week, after playing with my beloved generations/combiner wars army for a bit of course, and let you know if I can remember what I did.

I haven't tried arm mode but in leg and tank modes the middle section of his treads(the forearms in bot mode) have gaps on either side. I can kind close one side but the other pops open revealing the gaps. Close that side and the opposite happens. I'll post some pics once I'm done messing with this abomination of a combiner I'm calling Optimus Disastrous. ;)^

Sounds appropriate, is his super power the ability to suck all the joy out of collecting tf's

Image

I'm still worried he won't hold together well in the future but for now it's passable I suppose.

do you have brawls waist positioned like in this picture
0128162010_resized.jpg
it all fits together nicely for me

Turns out the head might have been getting in the way of the waist tab in vehicle/leg modes and I had to sand a little bit off the arm tabs that connect to the shoulders while in those same modes. Seems to be all good now!

Bingo! I think thats what I needed to do to get it to work. I think you have to rotate the head 180 so it isn't in the way. Hard to remember exactly, I only had them for a week before my trip, can't wait to get back home to them. Oh yeah, and the wife and kids too.

I have it turned so that the back of his head is facing upwards in tank mode, it just needed a bit of a tilt to allow the tab from the waist to click in. Not sure if turning it 180 would alleviate the need for the tilt, but I'll give it a shot next time I transform him.

Oh, that explains it, you're not supposed to turn the head at all - just fold it backwards; at least mine wouldn't, so I didn't, and it works perfectly :-?

Ah, I might have made that step up, but I didn't want his face peaking out at all. It looks like the back of his head is supposed to mesh well with the top of the tank too, so that's kinda weird.

Well the head will never peek out from under the turret, so you're safe ;)^

If you look close enough you can see the eyes. Just one of those little things that bugs me I guess. Or if you happen to tilt it for whatever reason you can really see it.

I also found the combiner peg works to fill out the torso, and with the grooves in the crotch piece I feel that may be how it was meant to be :BOT:
