I'm not saying they are any different. It's simply a matter of population. The current population of the U.S. is 9X that of Canada. You take all the same toys, distribute them in the US, where I'm sure there is probably at least 9X as many fans in terms of population, yes those toys are going to sell way more.

Its simple math. You put 100 toys in a market of only 10 fans, only 10 will sell.

You put the same 100 toys in a market that has 90 fans, 90 will sell.

Canada's market is obviously oversaturated, while the U.S. market is ignored? makes no sense to me...

Oh I see now what you meant. You meant the same number of toys in canada would be distributed in the US. I thought we were going proportional, like if every store in canada had 50 box sets, then every store in the us would also have 50 box sets. But you'r looking at the total. Yeah that makes sense. Although I am still not sure because the boxsets are available online right now, and most fans know of that thanks to this site and others out there, and still arent sold out. If they are shelfwarming in a warehouse somewhere, I dont think TRU would think its a great idea to have them shelfwarm in their actual stores where that space could be used for toys that sell better (like Leader class Powermaster Prime or the deluxes). Not saying thats smart thinking, but I can easily see how they would think that way and thus perpetuate that.

Exactly. I would not want Hasbro to make any more toys...just spread the love around ;) . I'm sure if you took all the shelf warming stock from Canadian TRU and spread them out in the US, things would be much more improved, not a 100% solution...but still better. Still, I get what you mean about the whole online warehouse thing. TRU online U.S. still has all the sets (sans G2 Menasor) last time I checked online. heck I just used my "points" to get Computron with a 15 dollar off coupon. Still...I would have loved to pick him up at my local store...Just sayin' ;)

Darn...wow, that's a pretty good picture for that era. Of course, I might be just underestimating things...oh well.

Anyway, I've yet to see any Transformers, box set or otherwise, greater than a Leader in stores. And anything above Deluxe Class tend to shelfwarm, Leaders being the worst.

I've opened my G2 Combaticons, have them in bot mode, and wow, I can't explain how happy I am with this set!!
I'm extremely surprised at how much I actually like the redecos...
The paint apps are incredible, and from what I could tell while transforming and posing them, really zero QC issues.
AND, Brawl's waist locked-in with no issues...

I haven't opened my regular release Combaticons yet, and it's difficult to say I'd like this G2 set better, but if you considering getting this one, I wouldn't hesitate.
Not sure if it's because I almost expecting to be letdown with this, but damn, I have no regrets!
Especially since it was on sale at Walmart.com.

Right now I don't think I could say I have one favorite of this set. All of them are really cool.

Looking like the high price for Scrounge, an alternate Strafe, a better Afterburner and a nifty pair of shoes won't be quite as high a price soon enough.

In my case TK Maxx was a hit as I managed to score a Sky Lynx - he's sitting 7" away from my hands as I type this :)

Fun little = just needs some joint tightening which I'll do tomorrow I expect. If Wei Jiang wanna over size him, i'd not complain to hard either at buying another one.

Shame I don't have TR Wheelie yet as He'd make a nice Horsey for him too.

I'm glad the Entertainer has the limbs on sale too - I may have to go in on them too - with some reluctance.

While we are on the subject of those limbs though - I was wondering about their other owner "Betatron" and I realised I have no idea what the differences are (if any) between CW Voyager Scattershot and the Boxed set version... I've only seen comparisons between the 2 boxed sets so far.

I suspect Skylynx would look best with the Aerialbot -AirRaid +Alpha Bravo anyway. none of which I have unfortunately because "UK"

Naw. I've worked this set into my budget:

7 x $15 deluxes = $105
2 x $10 legends = $20
1 x $50> Combiner = $50>
8 x $5 minicons = $40

for a total of $215, about how much I make in a bi-weekly paycheck. And SG Prime is using different funds. And the ring is using different funds yet yet. and the Disney trip is using different funds yet yet yet. So all is good in da hood ;)^

Well I got my CW Computron yesterday. (had some rewards points with TRU to bring the price down), not quite as nice as the current 20% HTS is offering but oh well...hindsight and all that...

Anyway...it is ok I guess. I hate the feet though, I cannot get this guy to stand straight, have to put him in some very awkward positions. I guess if anything, having both computrons side-by-side my 10 year old son can see first hand why the TT UW-08 is far superior. But it was part of my plan all along to get them both, this is the only combiner I will have both UW & CW as part of my Perfect combiner army. But CW Computron will be dubbed "Betatron" to differentiate him, because he seemingly was a beta test from Hasbro that TT finished properly.

Care to share your thoughts on what you find better in the TT version? I only have the TT version so I dont know how much better it is to Hasbro's.

Sure...Although I may have some biases because I appreciate that the TT version is accurate to the original animated series.

1.The overall components on TT seem to be more "solid" -joints are tight, transformations smooth. CW seems to be "loose" and unsteady
2. Love the remolding on UW Scattershot, and the proper Computron head
3. Love the weapons on the TT version. Individual weapons for all Technobots can be combined into one large weapon whereas CW just reuses Silverbolts large gun.
4. Love the new head molds on the UW Technobot limbs
5. UW Nosecone so much better than CW.

Also, for those who are wondering about Scrounge, I have a solution for UW. I recently purchased a Generations Cosmos w/Payload. If you open payloads landing gear, it will peg into the weapon hole on UW Strafe and you can have an "inverted" version of what CW Computron does with Scrounge. Don't have any pics yet, but it is pretty cool.

Why spend for an already existing best selling mold? It's not like Hb/Takara can repurpose the Constructicon into another character unlike the CW/UW molds.

Most Hb can do is issue an orange Devs or a yellow one. Downsizing him won't be feasible economically. Heck, it was Takara that was willing to add elbows, visor/optics and extra weapons.

Back when they first revealed the Constructicons in North America Hasbro had half-jokingly made a comment (might have been a Seibertron video interview) about repainting them into the RID 2001 Build Team, which inadvertently got fans excited about the prospect of something that would never be.
