Those do go hand in hand. The G1 cartoon had 0 integration for the legs. With this version going for some integration, there will be seams, making it less clean and smooth.

Also just more detail in general than the plain rectangles of 80s animation

I'll leave the "toon streamlining" to the super expensive MP line and MP-like 3P figures.
I'll take my GENERATIONS figures with all the extra details and gribbles that are now "inacceptable" for the "premium" lines.

One for each year of the Movieverse's decade strong tenure. Here's to a few more explosive years!

Day 668 of waiting for Transformers Armada Masterpiece news.

Dragstrip: I like him, from the front anyway. His back is awfully flat which I assume has to be due to the way he combines with Motormaster. Funny how they're pushing energon weapons as the big unifying thing in this line and wave 1 already gives us a figure without one. Alt mode is nice, though the front scoop looks like it belongs on a tractor.

His guns are 'energon infused' aka cthru plastice with some paint on them. No excuses given as to why he is part bulldozer/tractor/F1 tho.

I've got a prediction. If what we do get is a reissue of Netflix Soundwave as the Voyager Class "Soundwave PR" listing in Legacy, it'll come with a clear blue plastic Rumble/Frenzy to be his "Energon Weapon." In Studio Series 86, maybe the Core Class Rumble listing will turn out to be a two-pack of "Legacy Rumble/Frenzy" in solid plastic with the traditional Blue/Violet and Red/Black color schemes. We might even get a two-pack of similarly colored Rewind and Eject, as well Steeljaw and Ramhorn, to fill out Blaster's G1 cassette roster. I would rather Soundwave come with traditional G1 toy pack-it of Buzzsaw, as we haven't gotten one at all during the War for Cybertron Trilogy, but all of the Energon Weapons so far seem to be the same clear blue plastic, so actually using the "blue cassette" for Soundwave seems much more likely at this point.
Kickback and Dragstrip have purple ones though, wouldn't that likely carry to Soundwave too?Wolfman Jake wrote:but all of the Energon Weapons so far seem to be the same clear blue plastic, so actually using the "blue cassette" for Soundwave seems much more likely at this point.
