The main flaw that was found in Kingdom Galvatron was or is fixed in the Legacy figure? My thanks in advance!
The shoulders have been fixed, might be a bit more of a wait for them to do a color matched upgrade kit unless the first DNA upgrade kit is a good enough match for the Legacy figure (theyve just done the reformatting version upgrade).
Either way its still pretty flawed figure with out the upgrade to make it look good/passable as Galvatron.
Unicron probably wanted a more imposing heraldEmerje wrote:Agreed. I'm already annoyed that he's taller than Megatron, I'm not really sure why anyone would want him to be even taller.
I mean I wouldn't say that it has much importance in the series, it mainly just hammers in the Decepticon's aerial advantage, which combined with signal dampeners gives them a whole season of basically being undetectable and later gives reason for the development of Optimus's jetpack upgrade. If you look outside the context of the series though, that Megatron design is the only one to ever have had that alt mode, which means if you remove the Animated artstyle to G1-ify new Animated updates (as we all suspect HasTak would do) you still have to give him a new mold. Optimus, on the other hand, has the same transformation as G1 and basically the same alt mode (especially if one leaves out the trailer, which they may do since Animated Prime's trailer serves no function until the finale/previously mentioned jetpack), which means I think they would just blurt him out as a repaint at that point, and in the contest between new new-mold Megatron figure with a unique alt mode and "new" Optimus figure that's just a repaint to emulate a different version of the character, I firmly believe Megatron would sell better since people who already have WFC tank Megatrons may double-dip for the new mold.AcademyofDrX wrote:Nemesis Primal wrote:I feel like Helicopter Megs has a greater shot than either Prime OR Bee, honestly, since it's an entirely different alt mode as opposed to Prime just being a different truck or Bee just being a different car.AcademyofDrX wrote:I'm sure we'll get some Animated characters eventually, even though they'll probably be G1-ified like Bulkhead. Oil Slick and Lockdown in particular are due for an update, and it's not hard to imagine a Prowl release a la Prime Arcee. I wouldn't hold out too much hope for Animated versions of existing characters, though, with the possible exception of Prime or Bee.
Possibly, but the Prime robot mode is iconic, and while that version of Bee has a lot in common with other takes, it's a really solid package that also has good mold reuse potential. I didn't watch that much of the series, but I didn't think that helicopter mode was very important in the context of the series.
The thing I like most about the Animated and Prime toy lines are their unique design and engineering approaches, but I don't think they would translate to Generations, and they didn't try to keep that with the Prime Legacy toys. After you strip that away from Animated, I don't think you have a compelling cause left, just a handful of underrepresented characters.
I have no horse in this race since I don't buy upgrade kits and I have no interest in that Galvatron, but I fail to see how giving that figure calves longer than his torso is supposed to be "proportionate", it just looks bad.blackeyedprime wrote:Me shrugging, I don't get why anyone wouldn't want a proportionate and more accurate looking figure.
Nemesis Primal wrote:So the Cog looks to be packing:
-at least one of that mold's gun (presumably 2 like Cog and Aragon, but who knows)
-WFC Magnus's main gun
-WFC Chromia's gun and extended barrel
-a bunch of interchangeable barrels, including one based off of CW Streetwise's shotgun?
-a flat boxy gun that I swear I've seen before but cannot place
-Prime Wheeljack's grenade?
Anyone else recognize anything in that arsenal?
If this is all they come with, I guess the Jetfire arm blade from the leaks got axed.
Still no interest in that Terrorsaur or raw chicken Dinobot.

Good eye, that's totally Chromia's gun and barrel. I wish they were in an even more neutral color, but I think it's worth picking up as an accessory pack. I can't place the triple-barreled rifle extension, but I think I've seen it before. (Edit: pretty sure you're right on that too, matches the barrel but not the stock for Streetwise.)

That was Comms Officer.o.supreme wrote:Sabrblade wrote:Oh hi, Security Officer.
I know there was a yellow Cog as well. I can't remember if we there were any others?

Yeah, we'd need a Red-and-Green Cog for that.o.supreme wrote:Well it's not quite Grand Max' Cog....but it'll do.

o.supreme wrote:I wasn't going to say anything, but since you brought it up. I did comment on what I observed on Pulse initially right after the comments from the fan event came out, same observation as you WJ. This is actually the 2nd time Dragstrip and Kickback have sold out on Pulse. They were restocked on Pulse last Friday 4/29 before selling out again in a relatively short amount of time. Skids sold out once, and is still in stock for the moment.
Core Class wave 1 is all OG, nothing to compare to yet
Deluxe Wave 1 3 og to Prime Arcee, which has yet to sell out on Pulse.
Voyager Wave 1- 2 Bulkheads ( new toy) to 1 Blaster ( Kingdom repack). I've only seen Blaster in store once, but it would only be logical since Bulkhead is new and there are presumably 2 times many of him shipping, it SHOULD sell more, or else there's a serious issue.
Leader Wave 1- 1 G2 Laser Prime and 1 OG Galvatron ( see Voyager scenario, except the distribution is even instead of 2 to 1).
Also it's still way too early to talk about wave 2 IMHO, but it seems natural that the Stunticons components would sell well, and sell out pre orders the quickest.
