That is the single most asinine comment in this entire thread. And that's hard to do, considering some of the arguments that go on in here. With AOE I felt we were getting better faces with the likes of Drift, Crosshairs and Lockdown yet those characters had terrible voice actors.

Be nice if they toned down the samurai thing with Drift. People complain about the twins being racially offensive, how is this not?

Also be nice if the movies respected the source material like Marvel does.

Huh, that actually looks pretty cool. Not very Hot Rod-esque, but it isn't G1 so expecting G1 accuracy is silly. I would have liked to have seen his classic colours but black and red is cool too (plus it reminds me of G2 Sideswipe). A pity Arcee jobbed in ROTF- having two '86 movie Autobots in the movie (plus the chance for robo romance) would have been awesome. Oh well, maybe they'll introduce a totally new fembot with a badass design.

Oh who am I kidding, at best we'll get yet another Windblade appearance and get called sexist if we don't like it. Though I will be honest, I would like to see Windblade as a real-world plane. Perhaps a WW2 Japanese plane like a Zero, or maybe a VTOL jet like a Harrier?

Something got screwed up with the coloring in fact it's given me a theory Hot Rod and Drift have their colors switched somehow for these posters.

So why does Hot Rod have the same colors as Drift's altmode despite the Lamborghini car parts while Drift has a red robot mode which has colors usually associated with Hot rod

So what is the most likely scenario that the colors are switched up on the posters or that Hot Rod is the same color as Drift's car mode while Drift turns into a completely different color pallet in robot mode?

Michael Bay is the director of these films and he must have a say over the final designs of the robot characters. He has the authority to say, No, change this or make it this way instead. Bay is also one of the main Producers so I would think that he could tell the CGI artists how he wants any character to look or not look. I know the artists have so much power but story board phases of the films must include what the robots will look like. He is a producer and the director he has to have influence over the final designs.

I'm still hoping that that military vehicle turns out to be Breakdown(or Silas Breakdown), coz as we've seen before....Bay has peppered the previous movies with some of the various TF cartoon series(for example....DOTM had scenes that played out like Megatron's Master Plan & The Ultimate Doom) & of course characters or groups from the comics(The Wreckers). so it's not too far fetched to have a character from TF Prime in this movie(& YES! some on here will keep bashing me over the head by stating that they have enough characters in this movie already without having to add more!).

I read that HASBRO is introducing "M.A.S.K." in the next G.I.Joe movie. M.A.S.K. is then supposed to get its own live action film that may become another franchised movie series like TF. Perhaps this will also somehow connect with 'Transformers 5' as the M.A.S.K. tech could be reversed engineered Transformers tech used by a special division of G.I.Joe, itself a special unit. It would make sense to at least have some minor reference to M.A.S.K. or the project in TF5. Maybe an after-credits scene? It could tie M.A.S.K. in with the old "M.E.C.H." unit seen in Transformers Prime and the former "Sector 7" and "N.E.S.T." from the other TF Bay films.

That's a fair point, but I'm saying that the tf's in the movies always had a vehicle for them specifically with alterations (o/p's truck with insignia's and the scanned vehicle) same goes for all the rest there's always the alt mode and the 'scanned' vehicle, that we haven't seen any of the beefy military trucks with insignia's likely means they won't be tf's, that said, I too am hoping they get a figure out of it, it's so bulky and mean looking

Because the general audience who were asking for Hot Rod to be in the movie don't care about the Marvel Comics. They probably don't even know they exist.

Even setting that aside, Grimlock is at least as big a character as Hot Rod, if not bigger. He was a significant character in the pre-Movie G1 cartoon, and and even bigger player post-movie. He got a Masterpiece toy before Rodimus. He was in the recent High Moon games and Devastation when Hot Rod wasn't. He is in RID (or at least a character based on him is) when Hot Rod isn't.

And Grimlock is still around in the movie universe, is he not? Why wouldn't they keep Hot Rod around, too?

Hasbro keeps shoveling dollar bills into his man cave. Bay is a practical man, by no means is he an artist. Of course, he could step back a bit from the semi-executive-meddling as far as story goes, but at the very least one has to admire his love of practical effects enhanced with CGI. The bay's plosives are entertaining for a reason.

Most of you guys will be going to the movie anyways not all the money for these movies comes from the fans that go see them but also from all the people who go to be all like "I told you the movie was going to be bad!"


When I was a kid me and most of the kids I knew did not watch Transformers for some amazing plot but to watch robots blasting each other and Transform into different vehicles!

Think he is saying that because the sword looks shorter than normal but this poster does look how should I say this a bit "painted" I don't think those are renders or anything so it probably doesn't mean anything outside of shrinking the sword a bit to fit into a poster.

There is going to be two separate movie universes at least from what I have heard.


There is the Transformers cinematic universe which is only the Transformers movies

And there is the Hasbro cinematic universe which is pretty much every other Hasbro property in the same universe (G.I.Joe, Jem, Rom the space knight, E.T.C)



So in short the Transformers universe is staying by itself probably because introducing any other brand after the Transformers movies have been going on so long would mess continuity up (yeah yeah say your little jokes about continuity in transformers movies)
