That's 20 releases, 8 new molds (counting each cassette individually), 1 completely overhauled mold, and 14 repaints. And that's not counting Black Rodimus, Grimlock and Megatron reissues, American releases, upcoming releases like Skywarp, and all the various other times things have been put out again.

Wait, are you taking issue with Red Alert being a redeco/retool of Sideswipe, or Bluestreak and Smokescreen being a redeco of Prowl? Those figures may share a mold, but they are different characters that are part of the original crew, so why knock them as mere 'repaints'?

Also, Acid Storm was a US release, and all the other oddities outside of Black Convoy and G2 Sideswipe (which are just FUN) are exclusives of one kind or another.

It may take a while to get to everyone, sure, but they're using those odd ducks strategically to get what marginal use they can before moving on, which helps generate more money to use to buy new licenses, cover engineering costs, etc.

You look at that list and see repaints. I look at the list, realize the reboot started a mere 3ish years ago, and think "Holy Cow! They've covered a lot of ground!" Seems like they have a vision and direction to me.

That's what I think it is.
They did the same with the MP-01 mold right before releasing MP-10.

My guess is Megatron, or at least pics and preorders for him, will show up next year.

id put my money on takara releasing a shadowy teaser once apollyon is in his final stages of production.

Think some of you guys might be over looking, The new and improved Megatron Factor, Which is Galvatron. Takara's answer to another MP Megatron might just be a MP Galvatron toy, Since they are the same guy.

Seriously Think a MP Galvatron is next on the list, As he can fight against MP-09, MP-10 and MP-22.

Galvatron is no replacement for Megatron, just as Megatron is no replacement for Galvatron. That said...

The die-cast Reflector is not going to be the MP Reflector, it's an accessory. If it was, then by that logic we would never have gotten an MP Megatron, because, you know, MP01 came with that tiny gun-mode Megatron as an accessory.
And the majority of repaints/ remolds we've gotten are characters who have always been repaints and remolds or shared the same mold.

I'm not really big into 3rd party stuff. I mean I have a few 3rd party items, but I'm usually a stickler for the official stuff. However, this looks damn good!I hear it's got more die-cast in it than the MP-05 ever did. I hope the die-cast is in areas that would otherwise be frail if they were plastic.

My only question is, why die cast in the gun barrel? couldn't that be plastic? Not that I'm griping, it just seems like that would add to balance issues.

megatronus, im going to pretend youre a priest for a moment and confess something. im contemplating getting some 3P MP's. the more paranoid part of me has been thinking what if takara doesnt actually make these figures? if it never happens, these 3P figures will be a nightmare to find, and have nightmarish prices as well. what im thinking of doing is getting apollyon, quakewave and transistor, and maybe not even opening them. just having them as a "just in case", and id replace them with the real thing in a heartbeat.

are you feeling any of this? im close to the breaking point. mostly on quakewave.

I'm strictest on MP KOs, and my feelings on that are very clear/well-known.

3rd Party MPs are a bit different. They're still not my cup of tea, BUT, I wouldn't feel as bad about getting them if my intention was to replace them with official product down the road.

Also, keep in mind that the flip side of them going up in crazy value if we don't get official MPs of those characters, is that they will be next to worthless if those characters do come out in an official capacity.

totally aware of that fact. its pretty rare that i buy anything with the intent of reselling. in fact the only time ive really dont that is with that MP grimlock in my sig cause it was on sale.

im not as worried about megatron and blaster, but if the rumors are true about not having the rights to the shockwave mold are true, that worries me. but at the same time, how hard (or expensive) can it be to acquire a license? i mean, they get car licenses (like VW and lambo) and i have a difficult time picturing shockwave's license being "impossible" to acquire.

Okay, this thing looks really good. I am tempted...

I'm guessing it has to collapse into the chest for transformation. Not a lot of room there if they are going to keep relative gun proportions...

He just looks so damned solid, unlike the MP-05 Pussytron who was to frail to fight MP-01.

Man I love this one. Much better than the Takara Megs. Its settled for me. Easy pre-order. You guys are really, really particular about every single aspect of your figures. I suppose the price dictates it but this one looks amazing to me. I've no complaints.

i dont know if theres many complaints bout thie figure itself. i think the apprehension mostly lies in the notion of takaras own megatron V2.
