After watching your video. I am glad I DIDN'T buy blaster. The USB cable from Toshiba are always short even their own external drive comes with same lenght. Probably they are telling us 'just use on your laptop'.

I don't regret getting him. He's flawed but there's a lot to like about him.

It's not kibble, it's a cape!!!!

Okay, looks worth it. Can't wait to get mine. May have to see if the head is easily removable, and try it out on Universe Blaster, just to see...

If he holds standard size weapons it's cool, I have an extra Blaster, or two, so I can use his G1 gun, or try ROTF Recon Ironhide weapons.

It's too bad he did not come with his own, or with a tape re-issue, or a new paint!

I just cancelled my preorder. He just doesn't feel like much of an update. I got ML Soundwave at a good price ($45), so I'll just keep an eye for a sale on Blaster.

That's what I am doing for a 2nd one, but I must get the first ASAP. NOt sure why, just how I feel.

Awesome. Thanks for the video, Diem! It does have some drawbacks, but it's a really solid-looking figure. And, cnsidering I just bought a new Toshiba that has only 2 USB ports, I'm STORNGLY considering this guy. I'm happy to say that it's bigger than I expected.

Thanks for another great review! If I can get a great price like I did with SW I'll buy him but otherwise i'll be passing.

Good job, Diem! Hoping for an American release here!   One thing that bothers is me is why everything is reversed.  Again, good review!

the guy's webcam settings are't set up properly. not sure if they're all that way but the two i've owned were set on "mirror image" by default as well. i guess he either doesnt know how or didnt feel like fixing it. lol

as for Blaster, i pre-ordered him a week ago and i'm happy. its not meant to be an awesome toy, its a hub that just happens to become a robot so the "issues" are forgiveable to me, plus i need a hub anyway. and i'm very happy to see that the usb ports work even in robot form...cool. :P

Thanks Diem!

I actually like the lines on the top of the alt-mode - they add a bit of style IMO and I'd prefer them over a smooth, featureless laptop surface. Pity the keyboard buttons don't have letters painted on.

I like it and have one on pre-order! Does anyone know if this will work on a PS3? (For charging more than 2 controllers at a time or attaching Rock Band instruments, etc.)

Is Diem based in Asia or he got that thing shipped to his place overnight? :)

Hadn't thought about that. Same question(and reasons!) but for the 360.

He lives in Tokyo, Japan for the moment.

It should, since it's a HUB. If the PS3 and XboX 360 use the USB standard I wouldn't see any problems.

Little bit of both, really.

No wonder Diem's got all the fembots, it's that british accent!

I'd be tempted to go for DL Blaster, but then the rest of the DL line would have to come along too... curse completionistic views..

Fantastic review - and it's nice to see that smiling face gloating over your new prize

Honestly I'm wanting this piece even more now. Since you say it works with macs, my laptop is in desperate need of more USB ports. Problem is, I'd have to get two: one for the shelf, one for the computer, and that's just not feasible (I can get a USB hub for much cheaper if that's all I want).

Still though, I'm pretty excited.

Highly anticipating this guy. He's got his flaws, but he's light years ahead of that ridiculous Universe Soundwave repaint. Even that replacement head Venksta is working on can't save that thing, stealth bombers were not meant to be in clown colors.

What the buttons are just sculpted on and you can press them?! LAME!

Yea he's too expensive for my taste but I do like him, oh well.

Thanks Diem! I canceled my pre-order when the Bruticus upgrade pre-order popped up, and I am glad I did (it had to be one or the other, who thinks I made the right choice?). It's a nice figure and if I can score one for a much better price later, maybe even used/loose, I will, but it's a bit too pricey for what it is.

Can you confirm that his heas does not allow for a cassette in his chest in HUB mode?

Unless you remove the head from the figure (which can be done without unscrewing or breaking anything) then no, he can't take a tape in USB mode. I'm 99% sure of this.

Suspected that much, thanks for the confirmation :)

PS: In the last pic, Blaster's holding a KO astrotrain gun (i'm going to kitbash it for him) and a Classics Prime rifle, his fist holes are fully compatible with classics fist holes, but the peg has to be long since his lower arms are a bit bulky and the gun peg has to reach the hands
