Here's what we discuss in this episode:

- We have our first gray-scale of the upcoming Studio Series 86 Devastator, and production looks at the combiner's first two members, Scrapper and Bonecrusher, as well as the much heralded (see what I did there?) Galvatron.
- We cover a host of other new toy announcements, from Studio Series / Gamer Edition to more Space Bridge-style reveals. Drop us a line in the comments to share what you're most excited for.
- The crew briefly looks at the recently announced Takara Wild King line - not images or true reveals yet, but we're eager to see what our friends across the Pacific are cooking up.
- Once again, 40 for 40 takes center stage - our regular segment where we discuss our favorite or most iconic toys from a single year, in celebration of the 40th anniversary. This episode, the year is 2019.
- We wrap up the episode as we always do, with a round of bragging rights.

I find myself making comparisons to Marvel Legends very often with the direction the Transformers line has taken.
Toybiz made some really incredible stuff...for its time. They did some figures in a way and style that were at the time, the best thing going. In some ways, they fit in with the style of the current Hasbro offerings simply because they were pretty good, almost like a 3P transformer. Those older toys fit in more because they take up the position and not because the match the current "house style."
Now when Hasbro comes around and remakes the figure, it's definitely in the current "house style" and may be comparatively lacking when put against an older Toybiz version. You could definitely stick to the older toy, but it's no longer the best fit for the line-wide style.
That is where I see this Devastator. The Unite Warriors Devastator was interesting. I always had to justify it being as big as it was. To me though, it's no more "Best Fitting" than any of the various 3P Devastators.
The Studio one is being designed to be a part of the line and that is where I find that it properly strikes its place in my collection.
