lol at one point he said "Save he world" but I can already feel how awesome this movie's gonna be. "Chicago is ground zero" is something you dont hear every day.

IF (big IF) this is a true review, and not some idiot conjuring up BS in his mom's basement, it's good to see a positive review to start. I agree that it looks to be the best of the series, and I'm glad to hear it's actually driven by a story and not visual overdose. I disagree with the guy on the point about Sam's parents. I thought they were funny in the first film, and alright in the second one. And that bit about Megatron is just making me all kinds of curious. 48 days to go!

I've found Ain't it cool news to bring trustworthy reviews. The good they say is good. The bad they says is bad.

OK. :) I've never actually been on that site, and am not familiar with their reputation. I'll take your word for it. :)

So Carly's actress got a good reivew apparently. That's one worry off everyone's shoulders, other than the hawtness debate.

Capone of Ain't it Cool News had the opportunity to view Transformers DOTM in it's entirety and has posted the film's first review. While the version that was screened was in 2-D the reviewer states the movie's 3-D potential is "very clear". He also states the movie looks surprisingly complete considering it doesn't come out until July 1st. He has tried to keep his review free of major spoilers, but naturally there are some spoiler-ish details so read on at your own risk. We'll hit some of the high points below, to read his full review click here!

Update: After the Ain't it Cool News review started making waves in the Transformers community regarding the twins director Michael Bay posted the following in his Shoot for the Edit forum:

After the internet posting of a nice review by someone who saw Transformers Dark of the Moon, the writer had not been clear on one thing. He misstated that the Twins are in the film. They are not.

So I am offering a $25,000 REWARD to anyone who can find them performing in Transformers 3, on July 1, when the movie opens.

Michael

Capone has subsequently updated his review with the following regarding the twins:

[Hey, everyone. Just to be 100 percent clear, I'm not referring about the "The Twins" here; they are most definitely not in this film. I'm talking about Wheelie (Tom Kenny, who also voiced Skids in REVENGE OF THE FALLEN) and other similar smaller robots, who act like streetwise teenagers.]

The Chicago battle:
  • over an hour long
  • intense
  • lots of civilian deaths

The Twins:
  • they are in the film
  • they've been toned down from ROTF

Megatron:
  • very creepy
  • still has is disfigurements from ROTF
  • little spider-like robots crawl in and out of his head wound that he casually picks away
  • in surprisingly good spirits

Sentinel Prime:
  • left Cybertron in the Ark filled with technology he thought would eventually save their planet
  • voiced to "perfection" by Nimoy
  • retrieved and revived by Optimus Prime

Sam Witwicky:
  • has graduated college and is now living with new girlfriend Carly
  • not happy that he is not employed by the government
  • his boss is played by Malkovich
  • Ken Jeong is co-worker
  • his parents are in the film, but minimally

Carly:
  • Sam's new girlfriend (obviously)
  • often in the tightest of cloths
  • often filmed as though she is in a Victoria's Secret show
  • better than Megan Fox in the reviewer,s opinion

Dylan (Patrick Dempsey):
  • Carly's boss and possible competition for her attentions
  • has a penchant for world domination

Agent Simmons;
  • has written a book about the Transformers on Earth
  • now a rich eccentric
  • trying to not get pulled back in to the game

Moon landings/alien technology:
  • the first and every Moon landing since has been in response to the Ark crash landing
  • Autobots are not amused that technology meant to save their race has been sitting on the Moon all this time without their knowledge
  • Chernobyl accident was caused by experimentation on retrieved alien technology

Bottom line: Best of the three!

I'm glad DOTM got a positive review. I'm getting really anxious to see it! Megatron sounds kinda like Imhotep from the Mummy when he had scarabs crawling out of his face. Pretty cool stuff!

The reviewer says she's better than Megan Fox, not that she's any good. I mean let's face it, it ain't all that had to act better than Megan Fox(who's got the acting ability of a cardboard cut out).

Dunno how I feel about the review. Glad it's a positive one, but what was described seems more of the same, all the characterization goes to the human characters, while the Transformers are only there for the action sequences. Hopin' for the best, planning for the worst.

Interesting that the twins are mentioned considering Yahoo! posted a news article just this morning emphatically stating they were dropped from the movie, going so far as to chide an unnamed fan blog for refuting the announcement by using year-old photos of the cars on the set. Then again, the writer appeared to be basing his statement simply on Bay's word, and we all know by now how trustworthy he is. Bottom line when dealing with him now appears, to me, to be don't believe a word from him until you confirm it with your own eyes. Sad.

actually.. he does say that she's good.

"Huntington-Whiteley is actually pretty good here and certainly miles better than Megan Fox"

This review has made me a little excited for DOTM. I just hope that it doesn't have all the crude humor that ROTF had, which didn't seem to be addressed in this review (correct me if I'm wrong).

I just read the entire review and it says Megatron's entire half of his face is gone. That seems strange considering the toys, Hasbro's site, and the prequel game all show some damage, but it is repaired for the most part. I hope that he ends up having a face in the final cut.

I've always thought Nelson and Bay were misleading people about the Twins, ever since we've seen the Sparks, really...I think they're playing with what they've been saying so that when they have said (repeatedly) that 'they won't be in it', I've always thought they might mean that 'they won't be in the film as we have known them', or some such...

Anyway, this review is positive and the facts are promising! :KREMZEEK:

I take it the little spider robots in Megatron's head are trying to repair him, but he just gets annoyed by them?

No, most insects eat things after they are dead if they are lying there over time. The bugs could be trying to eat away at his head. He's supposed to be more mild mannered in this film. Dear God.

We can't be entirely sure yet. They could be flying spider creatures. We'll have to wait and see.

That review says that the twins are NOT in the movie. It must have been updated for clarification later on.

Well, now I can breathe a little bit of a sigh of relief. I've read several of Capone's reviews in the past. He's not your typical mainstream ass-kissing, self-important movie reviewer. If it sucks, he'll not only say so but tell you exactly to what degree it sucks and why. Same goes for if the movie is great.
I'm at least 3 degrees more excited for this film now than I was before and I'm totally stoked to see that Alan Tudyk is in it. They probably gave him one of the smallest bit parts imaginable but I don't care. I'm a huge Firefly fan and I'm happy to see him back on the big screen in any capacity. I've already told my work I need July 1st off and I don't give a damn if they find out the real reason why. It's going to be nothing but Transformers ALL DAY LONG for me!

When someone refers to The Twins in regards to Transformer movies it's always in reference to Skids and Mudflap. Any other Transformers reference would be Sunstreaker and Sideswipe. Are there any other twins? Arcee, Elita-1, and Chromia are triplets in my opinion, even if they have been referred to as twins whether in movie or comic.
