15 things you need to know about Transformers: Fall of Cybertron

Gamesradar has posted an article titled 15 things you need to know about Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. The 15 "need to know" points are listed below, but the article expands on each of them. Click here to read the article over on gamesradar. A couple of the more interesting points, Vortex can also transform into a jet and Gregg Berger will be voicing Grimlock!

  1. The plot begins immediately after War for Cybertron
  2. It has one campaign with different characters
  3. At least one Transformer has more than two forms
  4. Every Transformer has a unique ability
  5. Like Jazz's a grappling hook...
  6. Or Optimus Prime's control of the massive Metroplex...
  7. Or the Combaticons' ability to turn into Bruticus...
  8. Grimlock is in the game
  9. ...and he can transform into a fire-breathing robotic T-Rex
  10. You can buy and upgrade gear
  11. Cybertron is no longer flat
  12. Nolan North voices an archeologist
  13. There's more ammo this time
  14. There's no campaign co-op
  15. Character creation is insane

After reading the info, Vorex as both a jet and a copter makes sense.

As for Gregg Berger, a friend at Toy Fair sent me word this news before, but this is the first public announcement of it here on Seibertron, if I'm not mistaken. It'll be cool to hear how Gregg Berger plays this Grimlock, since he's never really voiced this kind of Grimlock before.

They better explain Optimus' and Megatron's new bodies.

You can buy and upgrade gear
Wonder who runs the weapons store. Can't be Swindle, since he's gonna be too busy fighting on the battlefield.

Cliffjumper? Aw man! Who else was hoping for Dwayne Johnson? :-(

Funny thing is Matt Teiger told me Berger was voicing Grimlock while we talking at Toy Fair and I didn't realize this was news. I was thinking we already knew this 8-}

I could be mistaken. Maybe it was stated here before. But I don't remember if it was.

Same here, co-oping the missions was the best part of WfC.

so theres no campaign coop but is there some form of coop at least? coop adds replay value without it theres one less reason to own or keep this game. How about ditching the stupid generic competitive crap and make a really good coop one that rivals the main game.

Maybe in multiplayer but not in the main story mode. how would co-op work in story mode when you got someone like Jazz zipping along his level in a way no one could keep up with him?

On #14. The ship on the background looks like the Nemesis, but then I noticed that it looks like the other generic Con ships above it.

Well a lot of this sounds alright, but the most important part that doesn't seem to be mentioned in many places - It plays like WFC not DOTM! DoTM was a HUGE let down.

I'm also probably underwhelmed by the character creation - It's almost always a let down unless it's on par with Soul Calibre or Skyrim-ish.

No Co-Op is a big issue, not sure why they removed it.

Buy and upgrading gear sounds bad, because it means the weapons are going to be weak to start off and you'll get ROFLstomped by people left and right that play even slightly more than you.

"Unique ability" should read as, "There will be Tiers, you won't get to be your favourite Transformer if you want to win."

Can't wait to see the character customization for this one! Too bad it's not co-op, though.

Given the amount of leeroying (charging ahead and getting killed, causing everyone to have to start over) there was in WFC's Co-Op Campaign, good riddance.

Escalation is coming back though. That was/is my crack.

I believe that's only for the campaign. If the multiplayer in this will be anything like WFC, it shouldn't come down to "Forced To Play Character X To Win".
