a bad transtopian???

Like many of you, I have been a member here since Transtopia first started. Made many kitbashes, and witnessed plenty as well (great ones might I add). I have always thought of Transtopia as my internet home. No other Tf fan website, or any website for that matter has had/have better members, polite, courteous, honest, and overall friendly. But like I said I have been a member here for a long time, I return to this site whenever I am on the computer, at least 15-20 times a day. I wonder does it make me a "bad" Transtopian that I don't always leave feedback for my fellow bashers, transfans? I always read every post everytime I am notified Via email, I am here. Should I do more? Can I do more for my fellow bashers and Transfans? You guys can be honest, let me know.

And now thanks to gawd6sic6 I have to go buy "dead rising" and kill some zombie ass.

do what you feel should be done... if you want to give feedback.. you will.. and if you dont know what you should say.... dont say anything.

and not saying anything doesnt make you a bad person on the boards.. i think that saying something nice and not meaning it would be wayyyyyyyyyyy more bad than not saying anything at all...

i have been a member at other boards that when someone posts something that is .. well to but it best.. tremendously medicore... they get rave reviews from ppl . and you just know that the people really dont mean what they are saying.

so .. as i said.. do what ever you feel is right. if you dont want to comment. dont. and if you feel you have some good feed back and or a great idea.. toss it out there , it cant hurt...

:D

Don't feel too bad. I'm terrible at leaving feedback. It doesn't help that there have been plenty well done bashes or repaints that don't appeal to my personal tastes. I wind up only posting on those few bashes that really stand out to me.

I think I can speak for everyone here that we don't take it personally if we don't get feedback from every user ever time. I am on here several times a day myself and even when I see something I like there are times when I just don't feel like typing everything out but I still enjoy reading everything. It's not a race to see who can get the highest post number under their name so just sit back and relax and type when you feel like it! :D

I feel the same way about Transtopia being my home. It's set as the homepage in IE for me. I read ever single message that's posted here, but I dont reply much. I always have something in mind but I don't always say something. This is mainly because I have my own projects going right now, but when I take a break from them, you can bet I'll be posting more.

Sure it would be awesome if everyone would reply to most of the posts they read, but we really can't expect that to happen. Do whatever you think is necessary in regards to Transtopia and if it's inappropriate, we'll tell you! :D

Quite right, all. TT's my homepage too, so you can guarantee whenever I'm online, this is my first stop. I'll browse through all the forums, all new threads, and most of the existing ones - the only ones I skip are for projects or topics that I'm not particularly interested in. If I feel I've got something to say that'll help, or that I think someone really deserves kudos, I'll post. If I don't think I've got anything to say, I won't say it.
Seems like the way to go... 8)

im probably the oposite in some ways, i think i post too much, but i always like to leave a message especialy if something has been posted but not had a reply after half a day or so,
even if i dont like it a whole lot,its always nice to have replys after you went to the effort of posting a new thread

I don't think it makes you a bad transtopian.

If anything this is my site and I really don't feel that I respond enough sometimes when I should to incourage members.

So why Don't I respond enough?

I too am on here quite a few times a day and could post more but I have my reasons.

One, sometimes I'm only on for a little bit at a time and only really have time to look through what people are making so I can find my interests and check back on certain threads. It's not that i'm trying to be rude here but I beleive that sometimes it's best to not comment at all. Sometimes members create something that isn't as up to par as some of the other works around here from more seasoned TT Vets and it's not that they made something bad but it's something that they are still working on and I don't want to say anything too negative and discourage them from posting.

Too many negative like comments, even if not meant to be mean or to attack, can really hurt someone when they tried their best. It's human nature to sometimes let things get to you and as I said, if you have nothing nice to say sometimes it's best to not say something at all.

Sometimes there are great works on here that really do deserve to have praise but it's like the ump-teenth version of the same custom EVERYONE had the same ideas from. This also keeps me from posting over half my customs because I don't like monotony. I hate repeating myself and that's just my pet peve and noone else needs to have to deal with my own personal issues. (Although, like I said, with human nature, it does slip from time to time...)

And then there are times when Memembers are just being who they are and that too can be annoying. Case in point: Shade.

I understand his/her life and choices but not long ago I banned her/him because he/she didn't stop talking about the lifestyle choice Shade is making and it was brought up in every post. I have warned Shade before about this but it continued. I don't know about the rest of you but I was tired of every thread here turnning into the Shade show and the behavure and Posts about her/his choice does scare off people sometimes and the last thing I want is for people to get the wrong idea or be uncomfortable. It was a sacrifice I made to get rid of the few so that many others and be more comfortable with their surroundings.

Everyone has their reasons for how much they post and why. It's what makes us individuals...not transtopians.

So good or ill, it's what makes you ...well...YOU.

You shouldn't feel bad or have to opologize for it.

Not bad. I just want to say I love you guys   No really, I've seen almost nothing but rude or snide remarks at another TF website. I was just trying it out the other day and was shocked. I guess Transtopia really is the best hands down. Thanks a million TFMaster and Dev and all you guys for making it what it is.
Now let's get to bashing! :D

I have to echo Rodimus's comments as well. I've only been into bashing for about a year and a half, and Transtopia was the very first website I came to.

Even though I am a member on other various Transformers fansites, Transtopia is always the first one I check every day.

IMHO, Transtopia has the most honest and understanding fans out there. Some other site's have members that seem to enjoy starting crap with people. That's the number one reason why I always felt at home here, because that kind of attitude doesn't seem to exist here for the most part. Everybody has good thoughtfull things to say, and even if they don't like your work, they will at least tell you why in a reasonable civil manner, instead of just saying "it sucks" or picking somebody apart.

I guess it all boils down to respect and maturity. And that's something that Transtopia has in spades that keeps me coming back.
