I got the GI Joe Old Snake/BATs set, and I'm enjoying them. I had forgotten about the energon cubes that came with them, and would absolutely buy a lot more if they were sold in bulk. I'd like it better if t was a full cube, but I'm ok if not.
Just a thought.

Hmm, yeah, I'd buy a bag of 50 for $10 or something. Though I bet if I scoured Party City or a Dollar Store there's a suitable (or close to it) equivalent made of cheaper plastic.

If you happen to find some bulk option, please tell me. I've been poking at this off and on for the last 5 years and have yet to find a good amount for a good price.

Personally speaking when it comes to repurposing things as energon, the small boxes at The Container Store have tempted me in the past.
http://www.containerstore.com/s?q=Small+Amac+boxes&submit=And in regards to the Old Snake cubes not being full cubes, I've found a use for that! Take one of the BATs, and angle the hands towards one another. Slip the BAT's thumbs into the open side of the cube on opposing sides of the cube. It takes a little play, but once you get the BAT holding the cube with both hands, it stays fairly securely. And it looks like a "I'm going to stack this cube!" pose.
