Cyberstrike wrote:"You know he's not really dead, as long we remember him"-Dr. McCoy (DeForest Kelly) from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan I just got through watching that it seemed right given the occasion. I've posted pretty much the same thing about Nimoy's passing at other boards and on twitter. I'm also not a guy who likes to repeat myself. So I'm going to post something a little different here mostly on what the character of Mr. Spock means to me.

There are some people on this planet that just don't fit it...anywhere, not offline or online they are called many names, misfits, freaks, loners, well you get the idea. I'm one of those people. I have a very hard time fitting in just about anywhere. A character like Mr. Spock is sort like that to me he's torn between internal conflicts of logic vs. emotion, a character who is more or less always at war with himself. Struggling to find the balance between logic and emotion, which is something I struggle with myself. I found the words he said in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country "That logic is the beginning of wisdom, not the end." one of the most important things every said in a sci-fi movie. I have more or less made peace with my demons and I try to find a balance between logic and emotion, that I can live with, (and before anyone asks it's a personal quest that is different for everyone) as far as finding a place that I fit it I have found that place in my heart.

So thank you Mr. Nimoy for helping me find what I was looking for, and for giving years of enjoyment in your work, and for the years yet to come of more enjoyment. I don't know 100% sure if there is a Heaven but if there is I really hope you're there with your family and friends having fun.

Live Long and Prosper for all time.

I have been non stop crying [exaggeration] since yesterday , stopped an hour ago, then I read your words.

crying again.

Leonard Nimoy's life has gifted us with so many iconic and legendary characters through his acting. May he find the peace and joy he gave others in life in his eternal rest. :CON:

He did an excellent Galvatron and Sentinel Prime!

For his career on Star Trek, he played a great part as Spock and he was an excellent director for the fourth Star Trek movie. He'll definitely be one of my favorite Star Trek characters.

RIP Leonard Nimoy.

Galvatron...Sentinel Prime... Sentinel Prime...Galvatron... I just can't choose. I like them both... I equally like the Nimoy/Welker Galvatrons. I think Nimoy's Galvatron starts out as cold-calculating in the 1986 movie (due to re-formatting?), and then slowly looses his mind throughout movie (from Unicron's torture? or losing his link to Unicron at the end?), becoming the mostly unstable (but occasionally cold-calculating) Galvatron, which Welker brilliantly continues in the TV series. I really liked Nimoy's take on Sentinel Prime, too (what a plot twist), and that there wasn't any relation to his portrayal of Galvatron.

However, it's very easy to get lost in his roles (I feel spoiler-ish mentioning any but the obvious ones... OK, he was great on the Simpsons), without talking about what kind of man he was, too. I didn't just like the Leonard Nimoy we saw on screen/TV, he was great when he was not in an acting role. Like he was a great guy, who just happened to be a phenomenal actor.

Someone posted the Wrath of Khan scene above... Well, when Kirk sinks to the floor...that's how I felt this last weekend. I was just in shock... I don't think I cried, but it just left a hole somewhere in my mind.

Mr. Nimoy, we followed you "In Search of..." Here's hoping you either found what you were searching for, or that you're on to new adventures. RIP

P.S. Please pardon any typos. I somehow lost my original draft, and had to reconstitute it... :-?

Pardon nothing, a very nice piece there. He really was a 'true' human, an unashamed geek/nerd, a man whose very name brought smiles to the soul, with a face no Vulcan will ever live up to, and the mind of a real artist.

What's it like to be an outsider? At least Spock had friends like Bones and Jim. Anyway, what Cyberstrike posted. Sums it all up.

Kind of like the same feeling when Optimus died in the 1986 Movie. You loose a character played to the "T"

And Sabrblade, that link to Wrath of Khan.......hits home kimosabe.......bittersweet!
