We have a couple of updates from our friend Jim Sorenson's blog Disciples of Boltax. First we have his weekly Ark Addendum update, which is Motormaster's transformation sequence. It can be seen in the mirrored image below. Next we have some addition information on Legacy: The Box Art of The Transformers, Jim's new project that was revealed during the IDW panel last weekend at BotCon. The book will cover all of the US and Japanese (including eHobby) releases up until Beast Wars, and possibly some of the European releases provided the material can be found. The book will also contain artist interviews, vintage and unused art, production sketches, and more. Here's a list of what Jim is currently looking for. If you can help contact Jim at:
transformerstheark@yahoo.com

Jetfire
Trypticon (US)
Deluxe Autobots & Insecticons
Quickmix
Triggerbots & Triggercons
Bomb-Burst/Blood
Pretenders from 88: Iguanus, Roadgrabber, Chainclaw, Catilla, Carnivac, Snarler
Pretenders from 89: nearly all
Most European exclusive toys
A good number of Action Masters
Micromasters Flattop, Roughstuff, Race Track Patrol, Sports Car Patrol, Battle Patrol Team
G2: Most of them, but my biggest wants are Onslaught, Fireflight, Powerdive, Sizzle, and Volt to complete out existing partial sets of mine
Japanese dino cassettes

There are also some that I have decent quality pics of but I'd like to upgrade, mostly from 86:
Shockwave
Galvatron
Technobots
Terrorcons
1986 minibots (excepting Wheelie)
Runamuck & Runabout
Overkill & Slugfest
Throttlebots

I love this episode. A memorable voice performance for the exiled Quint and one of Toei's best efforts.

Very cool. I hope we get some character models of the tree people Daniel and Grimlock encountered. They were well designed and well animated.

The 80s/early 90s really did have some sick designs for jets and the like. I'd wanna fly one of those around while shooting s*** up.

Agreed. Original concept fighters these days are much more conservative. Those of the 80s/90s looked like they were designed by 11 year olds who were brought up solely on Battlestar, Buck Rogers and Gerry Anderson.

I always thought of him being more like one of those F-Zero cars, I can totally see a futuristic car like that riding across Big Blue or something. :D

Jim Sorenson has updated his blog, Disciples of Boltax, another Ark Addendum update. This time we get a look at the Masterforce Pretender and Cybertron Leader Metalhawk's transformation sequence. Click here to visit Jim's always informative blog Disciples of Boltax.

Metalhawk is the Cybertron leader for the first part of Masterforce, until Ginrai takes up the mantle. He's also one of the handful of Japanese exclusive molds to the Masterforce line (along with, from memory, God Bomber, Overlord, Browning, and some new tooling on Ginrai, Grand Maximus, and Black Zarak.) His die-cast metal bits made him stand out, as these had largely been abandoned by the tail end of 1986.

Such a great character! And what I like about him is the fact that he has two histories - Anime and manga. Because in both, he is listed as a Space Commander. However, in the anime, he had the authority to promote Ginrai (the human) to the rank of Supreme Commander. Yet, in the manga, he did not (as Fortress did such).

But, either way, he is one of those characters that I have high respect for because of who he is an what he stands for. 8) (Plus, I am currently hoping that Generations 2013 will add him as their first exclusive of the year. =P~)

Make that five histories now, what with his being introduced into American fiction in recent years. he's now got anime, manga, Wings Universe, IDW G1 and Classics. Not bad for Space Commander. ;)^

Totally agree! He's one of my three favorite Masterforce Autobots/Cybertrons.
