Aside from the slick looking and possibly fun dino figures, no. I am done with the movie stuff. It peaked with RotF and has only gotten worse. I'm just glad I don't collect movie stuff because I think I would be bummed out about what is coming down the pipes.

I've got two questions for my fellow podcasters ...

1. Why do you collect Transformers toys?

2. Are you a Transformers collector for the long haul? Since the inception of Seibertron.com, I've seen many fans come and go through the years. Interests wane, families grow, people get married, life "transforms" so to speak. However, some fans have passionately stuck with it for the long haul. Another way to word my question would be ... "do you ever see a day when you stop collecting Transformers?"

That was kind of my mindset too but the more I think about it the more I think a want to shy away from the dinobots too. Hopefully TW starts their classic styled dinobots & Planet X continues putting out theirs. That will scratch my dino itch. I think some of these deluxe dinobots look good, like scorn, but what am I going to do with skittle colored dinosaurs once the movie hype dies down? My attitude mag change when I see them on the shelves, who knows?

I do want that Takara evasion optimus prime though.

A1: I enjoy getting a figure, playing with it, setting it up in a display, and then repeating the last two steps. I like action figures, but don't collect too much outside of TF and the occasional G.I. Joe and Star Wars; with Transformers, you generally get 3 toys for the price of 1, so it's efficient! :D But I certainly don't do it for future monetary gain - some of these figures may be worth good money someday, but I open and discard the packages, and regularly handle them, as do my kid brothers. So they're not "collectible" per se.

They're also relatively easy to kit-bash and customize, so I get to curb my model car enthusiasm.

A2: i hope I don't have to stop collecting. Sometimes I may not get a lot in a year (depending on finances), but I'm a nerd through and through, so that's likely how it'll stay. Everybody needs a hobby!

With ReGen ending with ties to the multiverse, I am reminded of Furman's original plan for the Cybertron comic, before he wrote Infiltration for IDW: the caracters from G1 woukd have met up with the characters from Cybertron, had an epic clash with Unicron, and ultimately I believe were supposed to eventually have their own series.

Was this Furman's plan all along? I know some think his writing is starting to get old ( myself included), but was it always his intention to do this type of thing with the original Marvel comic before it was cancelled?

Just for reference, I got the info from TFWiki:http://tfwiki.net/wiki/IDW_Generation_1_continuity#Notes

1. Because I was a fan as a kid in the G1 days and they're so much more amazing now.

2. I honestly hope to see a day where I'm done. I do enjoy it, no question, but there are probably better things to be spending the time, money, and space on as I rapidly close in on 40 yrs old. I've cut back my purchasing habits a good deal, but my tastes have also gotten a lot more spendy being more MP and 3rd Party focused. If/when the MP line comes to an end, I will hopefully call it quits too...and in the meantime, I hope to get closer to only buying MPs and MP-like (3rd Party) figs.

I got a fun one twincast, I call it "Defend that atrocity", say one positive thing about a figure you either hate or where horribly disappointed by. Counterpunch, provided you're on the episode you can talk about your non transformers figures if you want, I know I can't speak for the other listeners, but I certainly would like to here about them.

Dear Twincast:

With all the issues of having trouble getting toys onto shelves, do you think the problem is primarily/soley upon Distribution, or is Hasbro simply trying to produce too much product? Are we going to see a time when they cut back on waves and releases again when they figure out things aren;t moving? Or might we see, since Cases are being restructured, toylines getting longer shelflife?

I know some of you have said "Sell it online!" I do n't now that there aren't underselling contracts between HAsbro and the Box Reailer/Market 6/online divisions, but I'd bet a hat that Hasbro Toy Shop is an outlet store and neother sized nor staffed to handle a mass retail run, and I suspect even the big sites aren't either.

Perhaps we could get a special edition like Ryan did with the comic guys, but sit down with one of the Site Sponsor guys and ask a few non-dmaging, but prodding questions? Probably a lot they can't talk about, but the backside of the market as a whole, might fill an hour.

And as an aside, Ryan has said "Pre-order system."

No, please no. The Model Train community does this, and it sucks. Its worse, because not only do you hav to order the trains, but also the track, the scenery stuff, nohing is "available." Granted, trains tend to be much larger quantities, multipole engiens and cars and the like, but if you miss the pre-order window, that's it. If something is announced tha you want but is not worth the price, there's no "wait to see if i hits clearence". You like it or you lump it. If can't afford it when the pre-order is announced, you're SOL. How many people have amented missing the Subscription Service because they couldn't afford it a year before it comes out, and we're talking about the mainline stuff?

Its different, because most of you order online anyway. If I could, I would too, most likely. Bu for the leisure colector, who isn't in a position for boxes to be on a doorstep, wants to see things in hand, or kids shopping in a store with their allowance, this is a terrible, and dangerous idea. Ask your Model Train friend, Ryan, but only after I see those stunnoing photos of the Autobot Train, which reminds me, I need to dig mine out some day.

AND POSE IT WITH SOME MINICONS AND LEGIONS FIGURES. Figures like the Racetrack team, Prime Legion class Knockout/Fall Back, the ROTF Legion CLass Devastator, the vehicle modes are pretty close to being in scale with HO scale trains. Image

I have a particularly nerdy comics question, actually!

For those of you who read the IDWverse comics (RID, Windblade, MTMTE): which character would you identify more with, and which one is the Megatron to your Rodimus?

You're definitely not. I even made mention of it in the "who're you repurposing?" thread, and I'm fairly certain that it's intentional somehow. Blip was part of Hun-Grr's crew, and Nautilator confused him for Blot at first.

Does your interest in transformers peak your curiosity into other toy lines by the same company ?

( only asking because I purchased the Microman trailer ( green and white Action Master Optimus Prime remold) for Hiro and the other GT sisters to hang around in , plus the green and white lets it sit close enough to Super GT max...)

Alrighty guys, I've got one for you.

A new trend in recent lines has been taking the more popular characters - Optimus, BB, Grimlock, Starscream, Megatron, etc. - and releasing versions in several size classes. While this is great for kids, as it offers the parents several buying options, what are your guys thoughts on how this affects the collector community, if at all? And how does this affect your specific buying habits?

Much love, soon to be with cougars!

Dear Twincast,

I've got two questions for you:

1. At what rate does your collection "churn"?

For example, as an avid eBay buyer/seller, I probably sell 20% of my collection every 3 months to help fund new stuff - it's a part of the hobby I particularly like. How often do you guys sell your toys? Is eBay the only way? Do you enjoy this process of curation, or is it a major pain?

2. The TF:Cloud line has, for the most part, been a motley assortment of crazy redecos (i.e. Starscream & Shosckwave)... what out of left field or unexpected figure redecos (Autobot AND Decepticon) would you all shoehorn into this line, and why?

Dear Twincast,

You're forced to collect one of the following, Beast Wars figures or STDs, which do you choose? And assume they would be equally pissed with both options if your answer was to just take and pass them on to someone else...

Hmm, lemme see. Harmless pieces of plastic vs. harmful bodily infections.

I'm sorry, I'm gonna need more time to think about this.

Dear Twincast,

With the announcement of a more G1 looking Leader Megatron the boards have lit up with comparisons to other G1 theme issues. I have no G1 megatron in my collection and thus this conversation interests me greatly.

I was wondering, which is most worth it when looking at what you are getting for the amount you are paying:

Masterpiece 05

Hegemon

Generations Leader Megatron

Twincast - in addition to my 2 questions, above:

Prioritize the top 3 Beast Wars characters you'd want to see released in 2015, and explain whether you'd want Hasbro to produce a new mold (Rhinox & Rattrap), or if you'd want the Club's redeco treatment (Depth Charge, Rampage, & Transmutate).

Dear Twincast Podcast crew, I take it you guys ‘n gal were to lit up to remember to press the record button during the Botcon episode huh? :KREMZEEK:

Any way, on to the real question, Out of all your Transformers toys and merchandise, which one would you consider the most obscure? Something so weird and obscure that will make the casual collector go “huhhh!?” even at the name of the toy. Example, Noisemaze Production type or Sound Convoy Robot (Scotty P) ;)
