In the short time they’d been on Earth, Sideswipe had seen his brother, Sunstreaker, get oiled on, make a new “friend”, and storm off looking as pissed as he’d ever seen him. He even thought about helping the situation out by saying something he was sure he’d regret, but he thought better of it.

In a way, he thought his twin would appreciate the maturity that simple inaction showed since he was routinely accused of being in a rush into something. It wasn’t much, but at least it didn’t involve beating the cranial cavity of a mech in…to…

His attention was caught by the group of mechs gathered nearby. Sure, Sunstreaker’s current mortal enemy was with them, but it gave Sideswipe an idea.

“Hey, bro. They look they got some action going.” He nodded to Mirage, Howstrike, and the others. “Why not check out what they’re up to, show them it doesn’t bother you that much? Maybe there’s something to fight around here, eh?”

He didn’t have a lot of hope in getting Sunstreaker to join in, but he had to give it a try. As much as he cared about his brother, he was one of the first to point out he needed to loosen up and have some fun. Sometimes, he wondered if they really were brothers.

“Got it.” Broadside was ready to rumble with the team. He moved to the side, out of anyone’s way, took a running start and with a quick hop, he was soaring into the air.

The large gray and red jet circled around the valley. Now that he was outside of the shuttle, he could see the view a lot better. Yet another organic planet, but this one felt a little quaint for some reason. The valley stretched out for miles and miles, with plenty of greenery. Broadside pulled a barrel roll to get a view behind him. It seemed that the others had also started moving out. He could get used to this. He pulled himself back to a level position and began cruising.

It wasn't lost on Kup that he'd acquired something of a shadow. Not that he really cared on way or another right now. He wasn't on edge, getting ready for some kind of battle, wanting to be more or less left alone. The current circumstances were pretty low-key and relaxed.

"Well, guess ya answered yer own question, heh," Kup said to Groundbomber as he continued walking. As he looked around, seeing the skeletal framework of structures going up, seeing Autobots walk around freely on something other than a ship--it felt good.

"Gotta tell ya, kid, this feels like the old days. Like when a new city would start to go up, back on Cybertron. Like when the first settlers began to develop Kalis and build it up from driller-infested wasteland it had been. Granted, these humans are a lot nicer'n those drillers were, heh."

Autobot City Construction Site – Omega Supreme

Pharma was impressed at how quickly and easily it was to connect the diagnostic device to Omega Supreme. It was so easy he couldn’t help but wonder what would or could go wrong.

Not one to put a lot of belief in luck or coincidence, Pharma would be remiss to not give the topic a second thought. Of course, this could be nothing more than a random thought racing through his busy processor.

As his hands worked their magic and part of his processing function went to compiling a check list of what to check inside Omega Supreme once the diagnostic machine was running, another part of him focused on what Bluestreak had said about the Constructicons and their new gestault technology.

Not only was breaking the secret his new priority (besides treating any patients, of course) so he could get off this mudball, but it was also a way for him to surpass his fellow medics and scientists. Even Ratchet, whom he was sure would be as appreciative of finding a way to end the war quicker as Pharma was. He may even wish to take part, and that gave Pharma pause.

While he’d considered it previously, he hadn’t wanted to approach Ratchet as it’d mean adding another name to his findings. He wasn’t against sharing the glory in general, he just didn’t want to on this occasion. Still, Ratchet would undoubtedly have files on the Decepticons he’d never dreamed of. Give the amount of battles and repairs his fellow CMO had dealt with, he’d be surprised if he didn’t have an intricate understanding of the Decepticons weapons, tactics, and logical processes. Such insights could only help him understand how they approached the problem, aside from having a Constructicon to experiment on, that is.

As he worked through the problem, two other names flashed in his processor: Wheeljack and Jetfire.

Out of the two of them, Jetfire was probably the more refined scientist, but Wheeljack was known for taking unexplainable risks, often to his own detriment. Perhaps, there was a way to pick Ratchet and Jetfire’s processors while utilizing Wheeljack’s skills?

Of course there is, I just have to find it, he thought, checking the connections with Omega Supreme.

Omega Supreme. It felt as though he was connected to a databank the way his processor lit up at the previously unthought of concept. If anyone could give him an insight to incorporating so many individual parts is a highly functional way, it would be him.

Now that he thought of it, Optimus Prime would be a better candidate to discuss this with, but he doubted if their leader would indulge him in such a way. After all, subverting other consciousnesses as part of the greater one was a slippery slope. It was, unfortunately, how many of the Autobots and their commanders thought.

And yet, I’m a doctor. He scoffed at the thought, but he had to admit it had some merit. After all, who would ever suspect one that had dedicated their lives to helping their fellow mechs of plotting something so… gregarious?

He doubted if they’d agree on the terminology, but that was the best way he could think of suppressing one’s will for the greater good. After all, it’d bring the subjects to moving closer together like flocks of… organics. He cringed at the thought, but sacrifices must be made.

Once he finished checking the connections, he turned his attention to the machine, forcing his other thoughts to the side for the time being. He’d discuss it with Omega Supreme during any repairs he required. As for Ratchet and the others, he’d formulate how best to talk with them. It was only a matter of time. In the meantime, he turned to Bluestreak and Arclight.

“You both have performed admirably, and Bluestreak, my boy, I have enjoyed our conversation. And you, my dear Arlight, I can see great things to come for you in your chosen field. Now, to experience the rewards of out toils,” he said, activating the diagnostic machine with a deft dance of his actuators over the controls.

For a brief moment, he didn’t think the machine would work, that they had severed a power conduit or Landfill’s filth had worked its way into the machine to block a sensor or mechanical function.

When the display lit up, acknowledging his commands to perform a diagnostic on Omega Supreme’s systems, he could only hope the guardian had received enough energon to empower his basic systems enough to allow the scan to run its tests. Otherwise, he’d spend the next orn crawling through the guardian’s inside searching for any disconnected couplings, severed relay points or wires. In short, it’d be less frustrating to build a new guardian. Lucky for Omega Supreme and the others populating this city, he wasn’t in the habit of giving up on a patient.

Instead of waiting for the device to run its course, he decided it best to follow through on a previous notion and investigate the guardian’s couplings and fuel lines to ensure there wasn’t any leaks. Then he’d move onto the mech’s processor circuitry to ensure there wasn’t an unforeseen disconnect. The fact it’d also give him an opportunity to potentially chat with the Guardian wasn’t exactly a secondary thought, but it wasn’t prominent.

Smiling at Bluestreak and Arclight once more, he said, “It appears things are going as well as could be expected. “If one of you would be so kind as to monitor the device and inform me of any problems that arise, I shall begin a basic visual diagnostic of Omega Supreme’s fuel lines, energon pump, and processor to ensure his vitals are functioning before he attempts to come online.” He held up a hand, holding off any protests. “I agree, the diagnostic machine will find any faults, but I’m old fashioned in that I wish to ensure certain areas are working with my own optics. Machines can fail, don’t you know?” He lowered his hand, and continued with an even, but joyful voice, “Either of you are welcome to aid me in this, or continue to refuel or other tasks you need to. Be assured, none of this would be possible without your efforts.”

Pharma was pleased with himself. He somehow managed to give them the option of choosing to help or find something else to do, and all without sounding condescending. If all his future endeavors worked this well, he had little doubt as to the esteem he would generate from his colleagues and fellow Autobots.

As Arcee waited for a reply from Howlstrike, the leader of this particular operation made himself apparent. It was the blue and white dragster mech, Mirage. He looked about the gathered Autobots, seemingly pleased with all who had come to help. Arcee watched him and waited, as he was about to make an address. The pink fembot listened carefully with eagerness.

"Welcome to Earth, Arcee. Your help will also be appreciated here.”

He stood with his arms behind his back, facing everyone. “Arcee, please take a few Autotroopers to the northern side of the border. Another few will follow me to the southern half. Howlstrike, your tracking skills would be most useful towards the eastern edge of the valley, so take some of the Autotrooper scouts along with you. Broadside, it would be helpful if you could be our eyes in the sky and circle around the valley. Everyone should keep their comms open. The rest of the Autotroopers should remain within the construction site and nearby Omega Supreme. This way, we can ensure that all areas are secured. All good?”

Mirage folded into his alt mode. “Let’s roll.”

Arcee nodded, muttering "Hai!" She had her assignment, and as soon as Mirage had given the signal to depart, she too transformed, her body quickly and easily making the transition from her robot form and into her earth vehicle mode. The small and sporty pink and white Porsche 911 convertible took off, while shouting in a commanding tone to a group of five nearby Autotroopers, "You heard him, let's roll out! Follow me!"

"Yes Ma'am!", said the Autotroopers. They all simultaneously transformed into their vehicle modes and raced along following the pink sports car towards the Northern Perimeter of the valley enclosing what was the foundations of their new city away from their home planet. Once she and her team had made it to the location, she switched back to her robot mode, and then so did her troopers, and she commed Mirage and the others on the security checks,

>>"This is Arcee. My team is in position on the northern border, as instructed."<<

Groundpounder and his partner went along and increases the capacity of the geothermal intake and the energy converters. He glanced over at Omega Supreme and noticed Pharma and a couple other Bots hooking up the diagnostic machine. Groundpounder really hoped they could get Omega in working order soon. It was obvious the omega sentinel needed more than just energon to get going. Groundpounder Tran looked around after hearing a lot more commotion. The construction site was getting busy almost like a proper Cybertronian city. Several squads went out to the perimeter most likely to do security details. He also noticed a fellow builder in the form of Hoist which the Construction Patrol has worked with on several projects. The one mech he saw who usually unsettles most Autobots was the prick bot himself, Prowl. With him here, things will get done sooner and without a doubt of who was in charge or so Prowl will think. Prowl is a great strategist but builder he is not.

>>I don't know if you can tell the increase activity where you are at, Neutro, but we have more company here. Pharma is getting ready to run his diagnostic on Omega. The prick bot was himself is here to attempt to take charge and most likely grill every single mech here on what they are doing.<<

>>Did you say prick Bot? Oh gee, what can Prowl think he can do besides get in the way and give everyone a headache with his constant questions and attempts at giving direction. I just hope he watches where he goes so he doesn't run into something and have it fall on his cranium. We would get the blame for faulty workmanship. Thanks for the heads up, Groundpounder. How are things on your end?<<

Groundpounder couldn't help but chuckle at Neutro's response to Prowl being here.

>>The capacity is maxed out as are the converters. With all of the additional mechs here, the system was going to get taxed even without Omega being here. High chance we will need to build more collectors sooner than later.<<

>>We are noticing the solar collectors are doing everything as expected. We might need to redesign them to increase energy collection. As for the turbines, we can get about 10% more out of them but we better not get any of those nasty oceanic storms I read about. Those winds would give someone like Omega a challenge in standing up if we get hit with some of the strongest of storms.<<

Neutro than turned to Gears who happily came along.

"Ok, Gears, we are going to need you to get up to the top of pole where the fan is attached. I can set the new limit down here but I need you to make sure everything is lined up on the motor. We don't need these things to fly off thanks to the increased speed they will be going. This isn't one of Wheeljack's crazy inventions."

“It’s good to see you again, Grapple. Anytime you need anything, please don’t hesitate to ask. It is a priveledge to be a part of your extraordinary designs. Keeping interesting company nowadays, are you not? Optrix, quartermaster extraordinaire.”

Grapple looked away from Prowl and Springer, not wanting to interrupt but also wanting to remain nearby if Prowl should require anything once Springer had debriefed with him. This new mech was one that Grapple was not particularly familiar with. He seemed pleasant enough. That last comment seemed aimed at Hoist and the tone behind the word "interesting" left something to be desired, but Grapple was not one to dwell on such minutiae. A quartermaster would certainly be useful to have around when the time came to procure more....well...anything.

"Optrix, did you say? It's been a long time. So long that my memory appears to be failing me. But nonetheless! It's good to have you down here with us. I've no doubt we'll make use of the services of a bona fide quartermaster. As for Hoist? Yes, he's brilliant. Worked alongside him for ages. No one I'd rather work alongside on a project like this. He's caught more than a handful of my minor oversights over the vorns."

Gears hadn’t expected much out of helping Neutro or the other builders aside from being their go-for, but the fact that they actually wanted his help in constructing something was news to his receptors. The only problem was he let it show in both his mannerisms and vocializer. It was a mistake he hadn’t realized he’d made until some of the build team around him looked at him in shocked amazement.

Oh, this is not good. It took me a millennia or two to build up my grump reputation. He glanced around to make sure others hadn’t noticed, and luckily, it looked like they hadn’t. Still, word spread fast, especially between mechs working close together.

I’m so going to hear about this. His mood shifted slightly, but not enough for the others to pick up on, especially given their apparent shock.

When Neutro turned to him, Gears was sure to screw up his faceplate into his usual frown. He wasn’t sure he succeeded.

Neutro wrote:"Ok, Gears, we are going to need you to get up to the top of pole where the fan is attached. I can set the new limit down here but I need you to make sure everything is lined up on the motor. We don't need these things to fly off thanks to the increased speed they will be going. This isn't one of Wheeljack's crazy inventions."

Fly? Me? Gears hesitated as it was one of the few times such a request was made. It was a change of pace that he was quick to embrace, though he had to make it sound like he did so grudgingly. He had some repairs of his own to undertake.

As if to help him set the mood, a single line floated through his processor: If it hasn’t blown up, Wheeljack never touched it. There, now I feel more like myself. Nodding, Gears said, “I guess I can do that. Not what I had in mind, though.” He paused and looked to the top of the pole and the small platform beneath where the fan. One slip and I might look like a Wheeljack experiment.

He double checked to make sure he had any tools he’d need and sent power to his air compressors and a second later, compressed air pushed out from his feet, sending a large cloud of dust into the air around him as he lifted off.

A brief pang of regret struck him for not warning the others near him, but he needed to focus on his angle of ascent. Unlike others that could fly through built in or other means, he wasn’t designed to be graceful or agile. It was a relatively straight line up and down. Not to mention his function meant focusing a good deal of his processing power on the task. Still, he couldn’t argue with it when he could be of service to another mech.

He watched the platform as he drew closer, trying to remember how big it actually was. It wasn’t something he should have been overly concerned with, but for some reason it continued to bother him.

It could be worse, they could expect me to hover here like a helodrone. He cringed slightly at the thought as doing that would mean a lot more control than he thought he was capable of.

As he neared the platform, he reached out with his free hand so he could grab hold of it just in case. Straining, he continued to focus on reaching his goal. Another second and he was just over the platform, so he grabbed hold of the motor’s housing and deactivated his air jets.

He landed with a loud thud! which caused the platform to shake and feel like it would give way beneath him any second. The vibration quickly subsided and he let out a sigh. Should’ve known they’d make this sturdy enough for a mech to use it. He didn’t feel too secure, but he focused on opening the motor’s housing so he could get to work. This shouldn’t be a tough job, so long as he didn’t need to go back down for anything.

“Of course, I had to grumble about hauling things I get stuck doing something like this. I should learn to keep my vocalizer set to grumble,” he muttered as he set to work, checking and aligning the motor so everything lined up. Everything moved with little to no resistance, allowing him to move from one section to the other in only a few astroseconds. See? Nothing to worry about. Not like I needed to—“ his foot shifted slightly, knocking the small tool kit off the edge of the platform. Oh scrap

Watching it fall, he was grateful he had what he needed in hand. “Uh, sorry about that. Almost done,” he called down. This is what I get for thinking positive.

Of course you wouldn’t remember me. No one remembers those in my trade, do they. At least, until you want something.

Keeping from saying that was harder than Optrix had expected, but he managed. He didn’t want to detonate any bridges with those he had a modicum of respect for. It also helped Grapple put an emphasis on his title. That show of respect went a long way to keeping a relationship intact. Even if it was mostly one-sided.

Grapple wrote:Yes, he's brilliant. Worked alongside him for ages. No one I'd rather work alongside on a project like this. He's caught more than a handful of my minor oversights over the vorns."

Optrix nodded his understanding before replying, “Pay it no heed, my friend. Many of us are faceless in what we do.”

Turning to Hoist, he bowed his head in a show of respect. So, this one is a builder as well. Impressive. Mayhaps this was not a bad indulgence after all. “It is a pleasure to meet one that Grapple holds in such high respect, especially one that eliminates waste and lack of functionality by spotting oversights.” He paused before adding, “If ever you need anything whether tools or materials, I shall endeavor to fulfill your wishes, assuming, of course, that the paperwork’s in order.” He gave as welcoming a smile as possible, but it was close to the same condescending one he’d given Gears and many others previously. Some habits were just too hard to break.

Pharma wrote:“Your concern is valid. My greatest concern, Bluestreak, my boy, is the advances the Decepticons — the Constructicons, in particular — will make in their established science while we flounder about. I personally think it would greatly benefit us to have one of them to study. But that’s above both our pay grades, is it not?”

“Well, it’s definitely above my pay grade. Heh,” Bluestreak responded to Pharma with a slight chuckle. “But I share your concern. If we flounder about as you say for too long the ‘Cons will gain the advantage and iron out the rough edges as it were to Devastator. It would be great to have a Constructicon prisoner to study, but that would take a lot of effort to make happen and I doubt the Decepticons would just hand one over to us. Heh.”

Once Bluestreak was done babbling again, he shifted his focus to aiding Pharma with making the final connections of the diagnostic machine to Omega Supreme. With both of them working on it along with Arclight’s help, it didn’t take long to complete the hook-up. Standing beside the CMO, the chatterbot looked down at Parma as he checked the connections. Then the Autobot doctor praised both him and Arclight for their assistance before switching on the machine.

“I hope this works,” Bluestreak muttered openly as it took a few astroseconds for the diagnostic equipment to whir to life. Eventually, the screen lit up and began to run the cycle Pharma had already entered into the controls. “Eureka! We did it! Now, we can finally see exactly what’s ailing Omega and then go about fixing him!”

Pharma wrote:“It appears things are going as well as could be expected. If one of you would be so kind as to monitor the device and inform me of any problems that arise, I shall begin a basic visual diagnostic of Omega Supreme’s fuel lines, energon pump, and processor to ensure his vitals are functioning before he attempts to come online. I agree, the diagnostic machine will find any faults, but I’m old fashioned in that I wish to ensure certain areas are working with my own optics. Machines can fail, don’t you know? Either of you are welcome to aid me in this, or continue to refuel or other tasks you need to. Be assured, none of this would be possible without your efforts.”

Bluestreak smiled at Pharma as the CMO couldn’t help but continue to heap praise on the chatterbot and his femmebot companion. “I think I can speak for the both of us when I say we’re glad we could help out, Pharma. Also, I have no problem keeping an optic on the diagnostic device and I’ll be sure to let you know if I see any issues arise and specifically what injuries the machine uncovers. Anyway, you go ahead and do your visual inspection. Arclight, you can help him out if you want. I’ve got things covered here.”

With that said, Bluestreak turned his attention to the diagnostic machine’s primary viewscreen as the device continued to operate accordingly. Soon, data would begin to pour in and they would then know exactly what was wrong with the great Omega Guardian.
_______________

Arcee wrote:"Hi there, Howlstrike is it? I'm Arcee. What's the game plan?"

The former Predacon regarded Arcee with a respectful nod. This new femme seemed a lot tougher than the last one he had been paired up with while out in space rescuing Omega Supreme. The energy swords alone showed that Arcee was not a femmebot to be trifled with. Her friendly demeanor didn’t fool him for one astrosecond. If she wanted to, Arcee could be a formidable force to be reckoned with. Howl decided not to get on her bad side.

“Well, Arcee, we need to secure the entire valley,” Howlstrike began, clearing his vocalizer. “As for specifics, that’s not up to me. I’ll just follow whatever orders I’m given.” And those orders came sooner rather than later as Mirage began to speak. The teal and gray tracker listened as the blue mech spoke to Prowl and Springer first.

Mirage wrote:"Prowl, Springer, I understand you have higher matters to deal with, so if I may, I would like to take these mechs out for border patrol."

Prowl, who was still awaiting a debriefing from Springer, turned his head towards the Autobot spy. “Permission granted, Mirage” the military strategist said plainly before turning his attention back to those more important matters which had just been mentioned. The blue and white ‘Bot then began handing out assignments.

Mirage wrote:“Arcee, please take a few Autotroopers to the northern side of the border. All good? Let’s roll.”

“Sounds good to me,” Howlstrike responded as he unfolded his arms from across the wolf head mounted in the center of his chestplate. Broadside soon took to the skies to keep an optic on things from the air while Arcee took five autotroopers with her to the northern edge of the valley. Howl then motioned towards another group of autotroopers. “You six are with me.”

“We’re not going anywhere with you,” came the immediate response from one of the Autotroopers.

“Excuse me? What did you just say to me?” Howlstrike replied in an angry tone as he stopped in his tracks and glared over at the group.

“You heard me,” the trooper shot back in a serious tone. “We’re not going with you. We know who you are and we know what you are! You’re that Predacon fragger pretending to be an Autobot! We don’t associate with your kind!”

Rage began to well up inside of Howlstrike as his clawed actuators balled up into tight fists. The former Predacon approached the six autotroopers slowly with a deep scowl etched across his faceplate. “You’re under orders to assist me, trooper, so I suggest you do what you are told!” Howl’s vocals had deepened into a guttural growl. He had encountered this kind of prejudice before from Autobots who saw him as nothing more than the disgusting Predacon he once was. It had been awhile, but these autotroopers reminded Howl that there were still those who felt that way about him and likely always would.

“We don’t take orders from a Predacon!” The lead autotrooper spoke, stepping into Howlstrike’s personal space to the point of being only inches away from his faceplate. The two mechs appeared as though they were about to come to blows until another voice interrupted the intense encounter.

“No, but you do take orders from me,” Prowl interjected as he approached the group.

“But, sir, he’s a Predacon!”

“He was a Predacon,” the black and white corrected his subordinate. “He’s one of us now and you will do as ordered. Understood, soldier?”

There was a brief pause but the autotrooper eventually responded. “Yes, sir.”

“Good. Now, get to work,” Prowl replied as he turned his attention towards the former Predacon.

“Thank you, sir, I…” Howlstrike began to say before being cut off by a private transmission from the military strategist.

>>”Don’t mistake my words as a sign that I fully trust you. I don’t. I will be keeping my optics on you, Howlstrike. Step out of line and you will have me to deal with.”<<

Prowl said nothing further after cutting his comm to the tracker. The black and white simply turned and walked back to where Springer, Brawn and Grapple were standing.

Howlstrike let out a deep sigh. He shouldn’t have been surprised by the prick-bot’s attitude towards him. The logic-driven mech was overly cautious and had very little latitude for those he deemed a potential threat. Still, at least Prowl had the curtesy to say how he really felt to Howlstrike privately and not out loud.

The wolf-former then glared back at the six autotroopers who had just been put in their place. “Follow me,” Howlstrike growled as he transformed into his timber wolf alt mode. With scowls of their own, the troopers reluctantly obeyed and assumed their vehicle forms. The mechanical wolf then took off down a path through the forest. Less than a breem later, he and his assigned autotroopers had reached the eastern side of the valley where he stopped and opened a comm line to Mirage and the others:

>>”This is Howlstrike. I’ve arrived at the eastern border with a half dozen autotroopers. We’re ready to begin our patrol of the area.”<<

Before Howlstrike had received any kind of response from the blue and white spy, he picked up another comm from one of his newest friends who had abruptly disappeared earlier.

Blindside wrote:>>"Sorry about my disappearance, Howl. I needed to see Veneer with my own optics. It's...Well. Don't worry about it. Just a heads up that I'm on the Guardian now."<<

The former Predacon sent a simply non-verbal acknowledgment back to Blindside, letting him know that he had received his message. Maybe they would meet back up again later. It didn’t matter at this point. Howl had a job to do and he was focused on getting it done and not tick anyone else off in the process. It was not just for his own benefit that he remain calm, but for everyone else’s, as well.

Bluestreak wrote:“Well, it’s definitely above my pay grade. Heh, “But I share your concern. If we flounder about as you say for too long the ‘Cons will gain the advantage and iron out the rough edges as it were to Devastator. It would be great to have a Constructicon prisoner to study, but that would take a lot of effort to make happen and I doubt the Decepticons would just hand one over to us. Heh.”

As much as it pained him to admit it, Pharma knew he was right. If anything, he expected them to be under lock and key unless their talents were absolutely needed. “Agreed, my boy. I am of the thought that if the opportunity does present itself, then we’d be advised to take it. I do fear attempting to capture one of them would result in a fiercer fight then the battle to that point. I could be wrong, though. It’s been known to happen,” he said, smiling slightly to keep things feeling lite and friendly. He didn’t want to burden Bluestreak with too much of his thoughts. It was enough to know the mech was in agreement with him.

Bluestreak wrote:“I hope this works,” Bluestreak muttered openly as it took a few astroseconds for the diagnostic equipment to whir to life.

I as well, my boy, I as well. Over the course of his existence, Pharm had seen many things, but all of them could be explained in one way or another. At least, everything he was willing to admit to. In his world, it came down to skill or lack there of. Luck or faith had nothing to do with it. Perhaps, that’s why I use Primus’ name in vain.

All the connections were good and they hadn’t damaged the machine when moving it, so unless it suffered some unexpected damage from the battle, flight, or landing. As smooth as interstellar travel was, things happened. When the screen finally fired up, Pharma couldn’t help but let out a brief cheer along with Bluestreak/

Bluestreak wrote: “Eureka! We did it! Now, we can finally see exactly what’s ailing Omega and then go about fixing him!

“That we can, my boy. You’ve both done well. If I didn’t know better, I’d never guess you were warriors and builders.”

Bluestreak wrote: “I think I can speak for the both of us when I say we’re glad we could help out, Pharma.

Things couldn’t have worked out better for Pharma’s plans, Even if Arclight came with, there was more than enough room within Omega Supreme’s rocket mode to become separated so he could have his discussion with the guardian in relative private once he was functioning. With any luck, the guardian would understand what he intended and become an important ally in achieving his goals.

“That’s more than reasonable, Bluestreak.” Turning to Arclight, he said, “You are more than welcome to join me, my dear. My skill may only be rivaled by my good friend Ratchet, but even I would find it difficult to fix all of our guardian’s systems if they are badly damaged.”

There. Whatever happened would be the femme’s choice. And they say I don’t have a good bedside manner.

When his twin didn’t respond, Sideswipe thought about grabbing Sunstreaker by the arm to make him stop, but thought better of it.

“Suit yourself, Bro. I’m going to have a look around. Maybe find some entertainment before any rust starts to set in.” Turning from Sunstreaker, Sideswipe eyed Mirage and company as an idea came to mind.

Patrolling, eh? It makes sense, but how do they know they’re doing it right? One corner of his mouth lifted upwards in a playful, yet sinister smirk.

“I wouldn’t be a good ‘Bot if I didn’t help them set things up properly. Maybe a little extra incentive…” His vocalizer trailed off as he spotted Prowl putting his foot down as only he could. Glad we don’t serve directly under him. He’d strangle the fun out of everything, right, Bro?” he said, glancing over his shoulder a final time. When he received no reaction, another idea struck him.

With the intent of killing two mechabirds with one stone, he transformed into his Lamborghini Countach mode and poured every ounce of fuel into his engine, causing his tires to spin and kick dirt and stones at Sunstreaker before they gripped the Earth and he shot forward toward Prowl and the others.

As he drew within shouting distance, he turned hard to the left, sending a shower of debris at the group gathered. “Sorry about that, guys. Just a little excited to stretch my wheels,” he said, sliding to a stop and transforming. Putting his hands on his hips, he said, “Say, Prowl, I know you trained them and all, but do you think your troopers are up to a real test? Nothing like a little real time effort, am I right?”

~~~
Brawn watched Prowl deal with the malcontent troopers and shook his head. “Looks like I got out of the security business just in time.” Not that he didn’t blame the trooper. He didn’t have much trust in the Predacon, either, but then he didn’t have much faith in mechs like Grapple or Perceptor come fighting time. Sometimes, a mech just had to settle.
He figured that was why he had always been happy being a grunt. It wasn’t much, but he got to see plenty of action. Though, he had to admit he did enjoy his brief taste of the officer life.
When Prowl was close enough, he couldn’t help but ask, “Not that I’m questioning you, buddy, but are you sure that’s a good idea? If they run into trouble, what’s keeping that Predacon from turning on his group?”
No sooner were the words out of his mouth, than Brawn regretted it. His only saving grace came from an unlikely source. In countless battles, Brawn had refused to take cover unless there wasn’t another option available, and this time wasn’t an exception as Sideswipe slid to a stop close enough to send earthen debris at them, then speed off after a brief apology and asking something about the troopers’ training.
Oh, this is going to be interesting.
Autobot City--Eastern Perimeter
As he continued to walk with Groundbomber along the territory that was to become Autobot City, a particular mech caught Kup's optic. It was one he hadn't seen in a while but had been meaning to check in with for some time. He didn't expect it had been altogether easy for Howlstrike to work himself into the Autobot ranks, but Kup held out hope that the young warrior's change was both legitimate and permanent.
"Howl m'boy! How are you holdin' up, lad?" Kup called out as he approached the other 'Bot and his contingent of Autotroopers. As he approached, a transmission came through from Red Alert, apparently calling him and some others back up to the ship for some security meeting. Wasn't he just in one of those?
Oh well, they could hold their discs for a klik.
>>"Be right up,"<< Kup transmitted back.
If ever you need anything whether tools or materials, I shall endeavor to fulfill your wishes, assuming, of course, that the paperwork’s in order.”
Well, this quartermaster seemed pleasant enough. Maybe wound a little tight in the bureaucracy department, but he supposed that was to be expected from such a function.
"I look forward to utilizing your services when I come across some difficult to find piece of equipment. The further this city progresses, the more likely that is to happen, I'm afraid."
As Hoist began lifting things and putting materials into place, he noticed Grapple talking to some mech who he had not met before. Putting a truss rod into its place, he dusted himself off and shifted his attention to the mech who introduced himself as the quartermaster. “Good to see you too, sir! We’ll surely be needing some of those materials in a little while. Thanks for the offer!” He said with his usual jolly tone.
Turning to Grapple, he held up a datapad with some of the blueprints of the construction. “This part is a few microkels short, it might pose a bit of a danger to the structural integrity of that side. Should we bump it up to 7.3 decakels to keep it more even? After all, the terrain is quite uneven on this planet.”
Grapple wrote: "I look forward to utilizing your services when I come across some difficult to find piece of equipment. The further this city progresses, the more likely that is to happen, I'm afraid."
Pulling his attention from Hoist, Optrix turned to take in the construction, his lone optic rotating slightly to zero in on a few of the ‘Bots going about their tasks carrying their tools or equipment or already working on some seemingly insignificant item that would one day prove to be pivotal to a structure and its defense. Of course the latter didn’t concern him, but he accepted it as a need while the war waged.
Never mind they appeared with little order instilled in them or their actions. It was something he couldn’t forgive from subordinates, much less their commanders, but he hadn’t come here to get into an energon expulsion contest.
Forcing down the building animosity toward the apparently command-inept Grapple, he nodded and responded, “I can see that. This is a wondrous endeavor you are undertaking. A little more oversight may be needed, but I’m sure your fellow builders know what they’re doing. Mayhaps, I shall partake in some of the larger buildings when they are constructed. So much the better to view the stars above, don’t you think?”
For the briefest of moments, Optrix lost track of where he was as he envisioned sitting atop one of these magnificent and allowing himself to be swept away in the beauty and artistry of the cosmos. Few he had encountered looked at the stars the same way, but since he had learned to appreciate the ark of building things, he felt sure others could learn to appreciate the skies above.
If was only through his need to maintain an observant behavior over those around him that pulled him from his thoughts as Hoist responded to his previous salutation.
Hoist wrote:“Good to see you too, sir! We’ll surely be needing some of those materials in a little while. Thanks for the offer!”
Oh, a chipper one, is he? Just what I don’t need in my existence. Still, Optrix managed to keep most negative connotations from his vocalizer as he said, “I look forward to fulfilling your requests.” He paused and held up a finger. “Remember, be sure to have your paperwork properly sorted and authorized. That is the only way to ensure builders have everything they need, after all.”
There. That’d didn’t hurt too much did it? A little order can go a long way.
As Hoist turned back to Grapple, Optrix straightened to his full height as he continued to study the mechs moving about. I may have something to learn from their methods, despite it all.
“This part is a few microkels short, it might pose a bit of a danger to the structural integrity of that side. Should we bump it up to 7.3 decakels to keep it more even? After all, the terrain is quite uneven on this planet.”
Grapple examined the blueprint, nodding idly as he considered it.
"You know, I was pondering that myself. Not only is the terrain uneven but it's composed of such a wide variety of densities. In one area you have terrain that could support Omega Supreme and in another you find terrain where Eject would sink. It's so difficult to account for. But yes, I would go ahead and bump it up. We can't afford structural integrity flaws anywhere."
“I can see that. This is a wondrous endeavor you are undertaking. A little more oversight may be needed, but I’m sure your fellow builders know what they’re doing. Mayhaps, I shall partake in some of the larger buildings when they are constructed. So much the better to view the stars above, don’t you think?” Optrix said, continuing their earlier chat.
"Yes, the finished product should be quite remarkable. Perhaps not my greatest construct of all time, but...we'll see. Sometimes I outdo myself," Grapple chuckled. "As for oversight, no fear of that my friend. With Prowl here, we'll have all the oversight we could ask for. And perhaps a little more, if Prowl's history holds true. But, in all honesty, I welcome his presence. I'd rather focus on getting this place constructed and let others deal with the minutiae of management."
Brawn wrote:“Not that I’m questioning you, buddy, but are you sure that’s a good idea? If they run into trouble, what’s keeping that Predacon from turning on his group?”
“I am,” Prowl replied to Brawn in no uncertain terms. “If Howlstrike harms any Autobot in this valley without just cause I will bring the hand of Primus down upon him. He knows that and he also knows that Kup is in the area. Howlstrike won’t misbehave if the one mech who gave him a chance to become an Autobot is around. Besides, the former Pred has been with us for a long time now. If he was going to turn on us, I feel it would’ve happened by now. Still, I’ll keep a close watch on him just in case.”
Once the military strategist had finished speaking, Sideswipe sped towards him and the group in his Lamborghini alt mode, turning left at the last minute. Prowl raised both hands up in order to block the shower of debris that he was suddenly caught in. The dirt and rocks bounced harmlessly off of his chassis, but it was still enough to thoroughly annoy him.
Sideswipe wrote:“Sorry about that, guys. Just a little excited to stretch my wheels. Say, Prowl, I know you trained them and all, but do you think your troopers are up to a real test? Nothing like a little real time effort, am I right?”
“Your apology is not accepted,” Prowl replied to the Autobot twin angrily as he brushed the debris off of himself. “As far as my Autotroopers are concerned, they are up for anything. Although, they have been in stasis on board the Trion for some time now and were only recently awakened. Perhaps a training exercise to knock the rust off their joints is in order. What exactly did you have in mind, Sideswipe?”
Pharma wrote:“That’s more than reasonable, Bluestreak.”
The chatterbot nodded to Pharma as the CMO began his visual inspection. Meanwhile, Bluestreak turned his attention to the diagnostic machine’s view screen as the device ran through its cycle to determine what exactly was wrong with Omega Supreme. After about a breem or so, data began to fill the screen and it was a considerable amount to say the very least.
“Um, Pharma,” Bluestreak called out as he studied the incoming results of the diagnostic program. “I’m starting to get data from the machine and it doesn’t look good. Omega has suffered severe damage to forward hull sections C1, C2 and C3. His primary canon is inoperable and his navigation system is badly damaged and offline. It looks as though he was hit by a massive fusion blast which would explain the severity of the injuries he’s suffered. It would take a weapon like that to do this kind of extensive damage to an Omega Guardian. It must’ve been a really huge Decepticon warship that attacked him. Regardless, it’s going to take us a long time to get him back to full operating capacity. I’m no doctor, but that much I can tell. And more diagnostic data is still coming in. I’ll keep you apprised."
Kup wrote:"Howl m'boy! How are you holdin' up, lad?"
Howlstrike turned around as the sound of a very familiar voice filled his audios. “Kup!” The mechanical timber wolf exclaimed, trotting over towards his best and long time friend. Howl then transformed back into his robot mode and grabbed the old timer in a great big bear hug, lifting him up off the forest floor before putting him back down once more. “Good to see you again! I’m doing okay I guess. I haven’t ripped off anyone’s limbs lately, not even that pretty-bot, Sunstreaker’s. So, that’s a plus. Heh. How have you been? Keeping everyone on their toes I’ll bet.”
Nearby, the six autotroopers assigned to Howlstrike looked at each other in disbelief. They were aware that Kup had been the first one to give the former Predacon a chance at redemption and helped him become a full fledged Autobot, but they didn’t realize their friendship was this tight. One trooper then leaned in close to another. “That Pred was just kidding about ripping limbs off right?” The other troopers just shrugged.
“So, did you come to help out patrolling the permitter, Kup?” Howlstrike added, patting his old friend on the shoulder. “I could actually use a little back-up with these guys,” the wolf-former said in a lower tone, motioning towards the autotroopers. “They don’t like me. They think I’ll turn on them. It took Prowl to get them to even follow my lead. And apparently Prowl doesn't like or trust me, either. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised even after I’ve been an Autobot all this time. Some mechs just can't believe I've changed no matter what I do." Sigh.
Besides, the former Pred has been with us for a long time now. If he was going to turn on us, I feel it would’ve happened by now. Still, I’ll keep a close watch on him just in case.”
Brawn’s thoughts went from one pathway to another and back again as he listened to Prowl go into detail about his belief in the mech. It was well thought out and articulate and became one of the worst decisions Brawn had made recently. If he could’ve rolled his optics, he would have. Instead, he crossed his arms and tried to look interested despite his facial expression turned downward into a frown.
Well, I asked. When Prowl finally finished, Brawn nodded and said, “So, you do.” He shrugged. “That’s good enough for me.”
Brawn’s interest quickly shifted to Sideswipe. He liked the mech. The kid was constructed from sterner stuff, even if he was a little deranged like his brother. Speaking of which, Brawn leaned to the side to double check. Without Sunstreaker present, his energon pump increased its pace slightly.
As much as he should be heading off to another task, maybe even patrol with the others, he remained. I must be bored if I’m curious enough to stick around.
Prowl wrote:“Your apology is not accepted,”
Sideswipe’s smile widened as he watched Prowl and some of the others brush off the dirt and gravel. That’s gonna leave some scuff marks. He thought about voicing that, and even raised a hand as if volunteering, but Prowl finished preening himself (Ahh! I should’ve saved this for Sunstreaker! I’ll have to save this for a golden moment! Still, it’s more emotion than Prowl usually shows.) and continued talking without giving him a further chance to speak.
Prowl wrote: “As far as my Autotroopers are concerned, they are up for anything. Although, they have been in stasis on board the Trion for some time now and were only recently awakened. Perhaps a training exercise to knock the rust off their joints is in order. What exactly did you have in mind, Sideswipe?”
Sideswipe’s optics widened at hearing his idea was actually being considered. Well, having it heard wasn’t really considering it, but he’d take what he could get. Someone had to liven things up around here. His smile slowly, but steadily, angled into a sadistic-looking grin. ‘Well, what about some war games? Nothing too big — we don’t want to draw attention to ourselves, right? — but a small handful of us could probe the defenses with stun weapons. Test your troopers while working off any rust gathered while doing menial tasks here. Personally, I could take them all on, but I don’t want to embarrass them too much.”
As he talked, Sideswipe’s energon flow increased exponentially and it took every bit of self control to keep from bouncing and remain calm outwardly as his smile deepened. “Anyone up for the challenge?”
~~~

Pharma stood by the open door to Omega Supreme’s shuttle as he readied himself for any list of injuries to be discovered. Still, he couldn’t have felt more energized had he fallen into a vat of energon. Once the diagnostic machine started relaying Omega Supreme’s damages, he could finally immerse himself in his element. For many, repairing a mech who’s spark was in their hands was traumatic or worrisome, for Pharma, it was like playing a symphony.

Oh, how he could make a laser scalpel sing.

In his arena, there were few peers, and he found he was able to lose himself in his work. The more difficult the task, the clearer his processor was and the better he could think things through. While he hoped the damages weren’t life threatening, he wouldn’t mind spending an orn immersed in the guardian’s internal workings, rebuilding parts that were beyond repair and learning more about the relay systems in place to help manage the power distribution as well as separating his consciousness among his different part. Was it a hive mind? Multiple mind shards from the singular one? Or were they run autonomously?

Oh, how he would enjoy going through the guardian’s circuits and then discussing those topics with Omega Supreme in detail once the repairs were completed.

Bluestreak wrote:“Um, Pharma,” Bluestreak called out as he studied the incoming results of the diagnostic program. “I’m starting to get data from the machine and it doesn’t look good. Omega has suffered severe damage to forward hull sections C1, C2 and C3. His primary canon is inoperable and his navigation system is badly damaged and offline. Regardless, it’s going to take us a long time to get him back to full operating capacity. I’m no doctor, but that much I can tell. And more diagnostic data is still coming in. I’ll keep you apprised."

Hearing the list caused Pharma to turn back and face Bluestreak. It wasn’t that he didn’t believe him or thought he’d read the diagnostic machine wrong, but that list…It’d taken him… oh, he didn’t want to calculate it. Taking a moment to allow the information to settle into his processor, he started automatically categorizing which ones to work on first. It would take some time — not as long as the repairs — but it was better to get a start on things.

When he replied, Pharma made sure to sound chipper and ready to go. “Very good, Bluestreak, my boy, keep us appraised of any changes. I’m going to optic the fuel cells and conduits to make sure there aren’t any leakage and we can go from there.” He turned and nodded to Arclight. “You are welcome to join me, my dear, unless you wish to begin working on his hull sections. I’m sure Grapple or one of the other build teams wouldn’t mind letting some of their numbers help you. Perhaps,” he paused, searching his memory banks for the name, “Neutro, yes, that’s the mech, could lend you a hand? Though I fear the poor fellow may be spread a bit thin.”

Finished, he clapped his hands together. “Well, let the fun begin, eh, my friends?” He turned and headed into Omega Supreme, hoping it had only been one fushion blast that struck him and not several.

Kup had no doubts that the other mech would recognize his voice the instant he heard it. He was a hunter, after all. His senses were pretty fine-tuned. What he didn't expect was being snatched off his feet.

“Kup! Good to see you again! I’m doing okay I guess. I haven’t ripped off anyone’s limbs lately, not even that pretty-bot, Sunstreaker’s. So, that’s a plus. Heh. How have you been? Keeping everyone on their toes I’ll bet.”

"Whoa! Easy kid, these limbs don't bend like they used'ta," Kup chuckled good-naturedly after the two had hugged and Howlstrike had set Kup back on his feet. "Sunstreaker eh? He'd test Beachcomber's patience. Frankly, I'm much more worried about someone like him turning 'Con than you."

“So, did you come to help out patrolling the perimeter, Kup? I could actually use a little back-up with these guys. They don’t like me. They think I’ll turn on them. It took Prowl to get them to even follow my lead. And apparently Prowl doesn't like or trust me, either. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised even after I’ve been an Autobot all this time. Some mechs just can't believe I've changed no matter what I do."

"I tell ya lad, I feel like I'm treadin' water. Between finding Optimus and Megatron escaping and Optimus freaking out over something that took over his mind...I'm playin' catch up as it is. Came down here since I figured it's where I could do the most good for now, but I just got a call from Red Alert for some kinda security meeting. But perimeter patrol sounds good t'me. He can hold his circuits for a bit. Those things never start on time."

Kup gave a measured side-optic to the Autotroopers, letting them know without saying a word that he wasn't going to tolerate any signs of insubordination. He then pulled out a fresh cygar and clicked its initiation switch.

"And don't worry about Prowl. He doesn't trust anyone. The fact that you're not in the brig means you're at least on working terms with him. You've proved yourself plenty and I've no doubt you're gonna keep makin' the doubters eat their words. Meantime...I hear you were on Omega? What the frag happened out there? He looks like he's been in a scuffle with a 'Con battlecruiser or somethin'."

Brawn wrote:“So, you do. That’s good enough for me.”

Prowl gave Brawn a nod of appreciation. The black and white didn’t need the minibot’s approval, but it was nice that he didn’t have to explain himself or his decisions further to an underling. “Glad to hear it.”

Sideswipe wrote:“Well, what about some war games? Nothing too big — we don’t want to draw attention to ourselves, right? — but a small handful of us could probe the defenses with stun weapons. Test your troopers while working off any rust gathered while doing menial tasks here. Personally, I could take them all on, but I don’t want to embarrass them too much. Anyone up for the challenge?”

“War games, eh?” Prowl thought for a moment. Security of the valley was of top priority as was getting Omega Supreme up and running and debriefing him. If these war games that Sideswipe was suggesting were too big it could be too much of a distraction that could draw attention away from any real threats to Autobot City. “I’m not against the idea, but they would have to be kept small and only entail autotroopers who are not currently assigned to security. I don’t want there to be any distractions from real world hostiles with the intent to harm our new city. It’s important for everyone, autotroopers or not, to remain focused on the tasks at hand.”

Prowl then paused for a moment before continuing. “That being said, Sideswipe, if you want to take three or four off-duty troopers out in the field for some training exercises than be my guest. But, and I can’t stress this enough, remain alert for any real threats and keep the exercises small and unassuming. Understood?”

Pharma wrote:“Very good, Bluestreak, my boy, keep us appraised of any changes. I’m going to optic the fuel cells and conduits to make sure there aren’t any leakage and we can go from there.”

Bluestreak nodded to Pharma just before the CMO disappeared into Omega Supreme. Keeping an optic on the diagnostic machine’s display, the chatterbot noticed more data coming in regarding the power conduits.

>>”Hey, Pharma, the diagnostics are showing that there is some damage to a few of the conduits in sections 4b through 7a. There also seems to have been some internal patchwork done, I’m assuming to help keep Omega operational. Since they encountered Decepticons out there I’m going to also assume that it was to help in fighting and escaping from them. So, there may be some leakage, but I can’t tell that from here. Just FYI.”<<

“Wait, you found Optimus?! He’s alive?!” Howlstrike exclaimed with a shocked expression covering his faceplate. “And Megatron escaped?! Did you have him in custody or something? And Prime’s mind got taken over?! Well, frag me,” the former Predacon said, shaking his cranial unit in utter disbelief. “I leave for just a little while and miss all the good stuff. Heh. Still happy we got ‘im back, though.”

Kup wrote:"And don't worry about Prowl. He doesn't trust anyone. The fact that you're not in the brig means you're at least on working terms with him. “Oh, I ain’t worried about Prowl,” Howlstrike assured Kup. “I’ll just do my best to behave myself. No limb ripping. Heh.” The wolf-former then gave a quick sideways glare over at the autotroopers, some of whom flinched slightly at Howl’s dirty look, before returning his attention to the old timer. “And, yeah, I was on Omega. I had awoken in a CR pod on the Longevity and found myself in the middle of a mission of some sort. Then we found a damaged Omega floating in space, and I boarded him with Arclight. Rung and some ‘bot called Streamlit or light, something like that, were on board. We refueled Omega the best we could and did some minor repairs.

“While I was inside the big guy, we came under attack by Decepticons, Scourge and his Sweeps. Omega managed to transform and fight them off. Springer and those on the Longevity did, too. Not much I could do but sit tight within Omega unfortunately. I wanted to get out there and fight, but I couldn’t. I felt useless to be honest. Anyway, after the ‘Cons fled, Omega was towed back here. That’s pretty much it.”

Howlstrike let out a sigh as he looked towards the permitter of the valley where the holo-shield met with the ground. “I appreciate you hangin’ out down here for a while longer, Kup. I seemed to have made friends with a mech called Blindside but he had to leave recently. At least now I got one friend still around,” the tracker said as he gave the old timer a friendly pat on the shoulder.

“Oh, and sorry about the hug before. I sometimes forget my own strength. Heh,” Howl added with a wink.

Sideswipe had become accustomed to having his ideas glossed over or outright dismissed with a wave of a hand, so the fact that Prowl was taking his time in explaining his reasons meant something to the mech. Though, it was getting to a point where his appreciation was ending and he wished Prowl had given him a simple yes or no.

The funny part was, he really didn’t expect this idea to be given any consideration. Much like a majority of his actions, this was a spur of the moment thought. His intention was to stave off boredom, but as Prowl continued he started to feel this was one of his worst ideas and was destined to be a monumental processor glitch.

Prowl wrote:“That being said, Sideswipe, if you want to take three or four off-duty troopers out in the field for some training exercises than be my guest. But, and I can’t stress this enough, remain alert for any real threats and keep the exercises small and unassuming. Understood?”

Surprise flooded Sideswipe’s processor, but his mouth was already splitting wide in a smile. He fought against the urge to jump into Prowl’s arms and bear hug the mech. The last thing he needed was to be thrown into the prison cell or assigned some menial task as punishment. Instead, he reached out and smacked Prowl on his shoulder. “Of course, Prowl, when have I ever been aloof or gone overboard?” He paused for a second, then said, “Don’t answer that.”

Stepping back, he clapped his hands together and rubbed them as his smile took on a sinister quality. “Okay, let’s see who I should…” His vocalizer trailed off as he had a far grander idea. “Hey, Brawn?”

Opening a general Autobot channel, he said, >>I’ve been given the go ahead to run some training exercises. Any volunteers?<<

Seeing Brawn moving away, he called out, “Brawn, old buddy.”

~~~
Brawn shook his head at Prowl’s response as he turned to head off to explore the surrounding countryside a little more. Knowing what awaited them was never a bad thing, and it’d give him a chance to stretch his servos again.
Besides, he wasn’t interested in anything Sideswipe had concocted. While he wouldn’t mind a good scrap, but games? Maybe for some of the wannabe warriors in their ranks, but not him.
Brawn could almost feel the younger mechs optics on him as he transformed and headed out. “Not this time, buddy. Call me when there are some real ‘Cons to crunch.”
Autobot City Construction Site – Inside Omega Supreme
Pharma couldn’t help the eerie feeling that came over him as he moved through Omega Supreme’s corridors. While the guardian was indeed a ship, a vessel for their use, he was also a sentient being. It was something Pharma had to remind himself multiple times as he paused to study a few blown outlets and couplings.
Most appeared to be superficial or appeared to be tinkered with, but he didn’t want to take a chance. Pulling up a holographic display of Omega Supreme’s current configuration, he marked each visible location he found for future reference. If they weren’t too severe, he could rely on Bluestreak, Arclight or another builder to repair them. A competent one, of course. He wouldn’t trust these type of repairs to just any mech with a laser torch. Knowing how builders were, they’d want to redesign things to satisfy their egos.
Not all of us can be professionals, now can we? Smiling, Pharma turned his attention back to the task at hand and continued along the corridor. Judging from the amount of damage he was seeing, he was surprised Omega Supreme even made it to this mudball. A testament to his character, that’s for sure,
Pharma was surprised to find his respect for the guardian growing by the astrosecond. If only he could have avoided a couple of those blasts…
He paused at another power junction and noted it in his holographic display. From the schematics, it looked like it was linked to minor systems, so it could wait until the main units were repaired.
Bluestreak wrote:>>”Hey, Pharma, the diagnostics are showing that there is some damage to a few of the conduits in sections 4b through 7a. For Primus’ sake — patchwork. How much more damage did they do? Was it too much to ask for a legitimate medic onboard? A sudden thought of training others blossomed in his processor, but he didn’t have the time for that. He’d already picked Bluestreak and Arclight as possible trainees, but that was more a work in progress. Though, if anyone was to do it, he preferred it was either him or Ratchet. The problem was, neither of them had the time or resources currently.
Pharma replied back, >>Thank you, Bluestreak, my boy. Yes, I think I’ve encountered some of their work already. Can’t blame them, but it would’ve been easier for us if there had been a legitimate medic or two with them. Job security, eh?<< He chucked, then continued, >>I’ll start at the top and work from there. With any luck, the damage won’t be as severe as we fear.<<
Pulling up his display again, Pharma turned and headed for the first section. He hoped it was a quick fix.
"Yeah. You sound like I felt, heh. But yeah, we found 'em both. Blaster, I think it was, picked up their signals somewhere in the Earth continent of Africa. That sure as slag wasn't no coincidence. And them goin' loopy at the same time? Nope. Somethin's connected there, but I sure dunno what. Like you said, tho, I'm happy we got Prime back too. He isn't back to normal, but just seein' him is gonna do wonders for the morale department. As for Megatron? Next time we get a chance like that I hope someone has the sense to order us to take him out, for good. Because exactly what we were worried would happen--happened."
“Oh, I ain’t worried about Prowl. I’ll just do my best to behave myself. No limb ripping. Heh. And, yeah, I was on Omega. Kup's aged steel features creased in an expression of concern as Howlstrike laid out in pretty stark terms what had happened aboard Omega Supreme. Kup didn't like it one bit.
"Scourge? The Sweeps? Last I remember they were runnin' around with Scorponok in the 2nd Fleet. That's Max's territory. Wonder if that's where Omega came from? And where he was before that..." Kup said, thinking to himself while also responding to Howlstrike's information. "This don't sound good, kid. If they were hunting Omega, I got no reason to see why they'd give up after one try."
He looked over and saw Springer in prowl's vicinity.
"But I guess Springer will get Prowl all caught up and he can decide what to do with that info. If any 'Bot is an ace at counterstrategizing, it's him. Too good for his own good, sometimes, heh."
“I appreciate you hangin’ out down here for a while longer, Kup. I seemed to have made friends with a mech called Blindside but he had to leave recently. At least now I got one friend still around. Oh, and sorry about the hug before. I sometimes forget my own strength. Heh.”
"Yeh. It just takes time. Fighting in the trenches with someone forges the strongest bonds I know. You've got plenty more battle scars to earn fightin' for the right side. Sometimes that line gets blurred a bit, but I'm still sure we're on it."
