I was just setting up a bunch of my base/city transformers, including connecting some Titans Return connect-y ramp gimmick guys, and I noticed that Trypticon's purple connectors are mirrored.
This makes him nice and symmetrical, but also makes one connector seemingly non-functional.
If you look at him from the front in city mode, the one on the left is just fine, but the one on the right doesn't want to connect because it wants a peg where there should be a hole, and wants a hole where there should be a peg. Not to mention that even if you do force the connection, the ramp isn't centered properly.
Is there a reason for this I'm not seeing? I've got Trypticon, Soundwave, and Sky Shadow. Does someone else I don't have use a reversed connection? I've seen pictures online of Overlord connected there, but I can't imagine the connections are molded differently than Sky Shadow's...
I also can't imagine that this is a mistake, as Hasbro/Takara would have had to go to the trouble of creating a second cast for the other piece.
I'm considering pushing out the metal pin, flipping the piece over and reattaching it. Is there any compelling reason not to do this?
