The Blue Fallen is a retool & repaint done right, the new head adds a ball joint,the new wrist add fingers articulation. The first release 2009 Rotf Fallen has no ball jointed head & no articulated fingers,no staff. hopefully Hasbro/Takara does more retools like this thats adds more articulated joints/poseability.

In a perfect world Hasbro/Takara would retool+recolor the leader sized Rotf Megatron toy mold. by giving the robot mode a elbow joint & wrist articulation in the fatter arm that has the tank canon attached to it. maybe recolor the toy in 1986 Galvatron colors.

What can I say but i'm extremly impressed with the retool on this blue fallen figure. hasbro/takara added joints/articulation/poseability in the head & fist that the original first release black fallen Rotf 2009 toy doesn't have.

On top of that buyers now get a extra accessory staff that the original didn't have & pay the same exact price. all these extras in artuiculation & staff & paying the same price is pricess. best of all with the current sales,buyers pay $16 or less for the blue fallen

IMHO,The only negative thing I can say is the new color scheme. it leaves a bit to be desired. i'm not a fan of the translucent parts now being solid colored parts. I kinda view the fallen as this DW/IDW Dark colored decepticon with fire within himself that over flows & leaks out of him. Some TF fans have said that this blue fallen is still the color of fire,as fire/flame also comes in various combined shades of blue.

Either way this blue fallen is a must get toy mold. as it's clearly more superior than the first mold release.

My guess is since Hasbro/Takara love to repaint TF toy molds so much. were more than likely to get a recolor of this retooled parts fallen toy perhaps in black+red colors. or red+orange colors.
I noticed the first few waves of the ROTF toys were a bunch of repaints/retools based off 2007 live action movie toys. So perhaps well see a better repaint in the TF3 toy line,maybe pre-queal/preview TF3 toy line or maybe the first quarter TF 2011 reveal the shield TF toy line.

Totally agree. I passed on The Fallen until now because the original mold was seriously lacking. I don't mind the deco, but I wish the parts that were translucent on the original remained translucent on this (translucent blue would have been fine). I also have issues with lack of light piping, but they likely would have painted the eyes over anyway as Hasbro seems to like wasting paint on piped eyes in place of painting... oh, I don't know... TAIL LIGHTS!

Still, I'm glad I waited, and I won't be doing this even if they do a repaint because as Chef Frankie comments http://www.youtube.com/user/fxfranz#p/search/7/56SsHOfgNnM this works as "a Prime" in this and any other repaint/redeco (so long as they keep the new hands and staff).

I don't really like the original, but the blue one looks great. The only thing I'm hesitant about is them repainting it more accurate colors.

Well overall I do like the new Fallen but I'm passing this one over is coz I have the Wal mart one (orange) and I don't like the face (after the mask comes off).. but yea would deftinely recommend to anyone that has not gotten hold of the fallen figure.

you don't have to take off the mask. the mask looks better than the first release head.

yeah this sort of upsets me a bit.

I'm thinking of buying Rit black color dye & dying all the blue parts black.

I think i'll hold off a year till they release a better color scheme.

I'll save my blue fallen,then return it when a better color scheme comes out.
