Did you actually watch the show, or were you on of the many who decided to hate it based on it's look? The vast majority of TF: Animated's content was incredibly serious. Sure, the few episodes that dealt with human villains were a bit goofy, but they were few and far between. The story telling is very much on par with Beast Wars/Machines. Both Ratchet and Prowl's troubled pasts were quit often highlighted through the series. And with Ratchet, we got to see him severely beat down Lockdown for revenge because of what he did to him and Arcee during the war. I know I haven't seen anything along those lines since Beast Wars. Give it a chance, you'll be surprised.

What a bummer it's over for good, this show was light years beyond the schlock that was the Unicron Trilogy. Hopefully the next series when it happens doesn't suck.

I know im going to get banned for this.

To all you troll who think it sucked, SHUT UP! Go back to your corner WHINING on how it was NOT like G1 because thats all you can do! Yes Animated looked really weird and childish, but I guess it was the point. It was strange but I got over it and enjoyed the show.

Let us remember each Transformers cartoon for their quality and what they brought to the franchise. I could even go on about RID and the Unicron Trilogy, shows I despise and think they are horrible. Yet im sure they left their mark on the franchise.

Animated was designed to be childish, but was it really? I ask you people. To me, a show is childish if it treat its viewers likr morons, if it has no plot, no storyline.

G1 was nothing but repetitive storyline. The character had no depth (sorry to say this, but G1 Optimus Prime was rather dull). They added character when they feeled like it, or rather when hasbro needed to advertise a new line like the Dinobots. Generally, they just came out of nowhere or something. Im not saying this was always the case, but most of the time the addition of new character was poorly done.

The plot repeated itself all the freakin time! Megatron ALWAYS retreated, Starscream ALWAYS attempted to overthrow him and so on. I don't think that doing the same thing each episode make a good villain. On a final verdict, G1 Megatron was boring.

I know this is a somewhat incoherent rant, and I apologise. All this is something that need to come out. I know some will scream "ANIMATED FANBOI" but I disagree. Fan, yes! Fanboy, no! A fanboy can't see the flaws of the thing he like. I see the flaws in Animated.

I think Animated was a rather dark show at times. Pick ANY episode with Ratchet and his war flashbacks. It wasn't childish. It was a well written show HIDING behind a childish appearance. It had a plot that made sense even if it was about giant transforming alien robots. The character had personnality, something that was rare (but NOT unheard of) in G1. We can see a really goo deal character development.

All im saying was: Animated was TV Show, not JUST a 30-minute toy commercial.

I ask you all, and answer me honestly: G1 and Animated, which one was the most chidlish?

So was last weeks episode the last one? It seemed like it. Im upset only because we never got that Arcee figure that was shown or the new Rodimus i heard a rumor about. Id rather have Animated then have to deal with bayformers again. Lets hope the next show is more like Beast Wars and us older fans wont feel stupid watching it. I know the target demo are the kids but come on you dont have to make it look like they drew it. Still say get the GIJOE Resolute guys to do it and make it CGI.

Exactly! I don't own a single movie toy, and with the exception of possibily the new Soundwave, I never will. I will only buy him because, let's face, Soundwave rocks, even with Chicken legs, lol.

Excellent points. I was one of the ones who couldn't possibly watch that show with it's goofy, "Buzz Lightyear" chins, and "goofy" animation. Then I watched a couple episodes. Far better than any of the other series, imho. Although I am pretty much solely a G1 guy, the original G1 cartoons are pretty repetitive with less rewatch value. Beast Wars' Cgi was just plain creepy.

All in all, for those that haven't actually watched all 3 seasons, do yourself a favor and watch them.

To those that asked, I believe that "Endgame part 1 and 2" were the final episodes.

I still have yet to see anything that points a finger at who made the call.

If its Hasbro, then again they have shown the level of misunderstanding of their consumer base.
If its Cartoon Network, then this isn't the first time they have dropped the ball so it's no surprise.
If it was a joint decision than that is a lot of faith that will need repairing.

I honestly hope that this was the move of CN, and that Hasbro has retained enough control with the series that if they want to relook at the series on their new channel they can.

Now can we please get the 3 seasons on DVD in widevision as they were produced? It's the only reason I haven't picked them up so far.

Animated was the best TF cartoon series ever written, in my humble opinion. I actually just watched all of Beast Wars' 52 episodes during the past 3 weeks with my kids, and although it was pretty well written, I still feel it does not hold wait to Animated (minus some of the episodes from Season 1 of Animated).

And for those who felt Animated was childish... did you forget how Beast Wars would have the predacons bouncing from rock to rock sometimes when they were shot at and hit. If that wasn't child humor, then I don't know what was. Not saying it's bad to have the mixed in with everything else... but saying Beast Wars had it's kid-oriented stuff too and yet many people here will respect that and yet not Animated? I just don't get that.

Anyway, it's a shame Animated is ending after only 3 seasons. I'm guessing some potential viewers never gave it a chance due to its animation style (like I had for some time) and due to it being on at 8am. I have no idea how well or poor the toys sold compared to previous TF cartoon toys, so I can't speak about that.

RIP Animated. You will be missed by many.

And for those of you who keep wishing for a "mature" TF show... keep dreaming. I don't see it happening. Sorry to be blunt.

After reading all this, I believe that we should have a poll count between those who are for Animated and those who are against Animated, just to see which side is larger.

But each person wouldn't just be able to say that they like/dislike Animated. They would have to give at least one reason for their view on the series.

Examples:
* I am for Animated because...
* I am against Animated because...
* I like Animated because...
* I don't like/dislike/hate Animated because...

I just want to point to a certain fact: I said I got over Animated arstyle, not that I LIKED it. It wasn't bad, it was...interresting.

Some character looked good, other dint. (This is especially true for cameo characters) I think the main cast looked rather good (despite the overall weirdness) and their huge chin

Hi guys!!! Long time lurker here, but I had to chime in on this!!!

I started out like most of us fanboys, grumbling and groaning at the cheesy cartoony style when I saw the first sketches released. I proceeded to give the show a chance, taking it with a grain of salt. Anyways after I started watching the series I actually found myself ENJOYING it. As the show progressed the g-1ness that was splashed here and there at 1st in grew to full on cameo sequences of big time battles and victory parade proportions. So yea, long story short I became a fan, and my Tivo got quite the workout taping every episode each morning. It's sad to see it come to an end, but I am ready and eager to move on to the next. I'm hoping they take a leap forwards and not backwards, and do some sweet CGI full stuff like Beastmachines was (without all the Organic-formers). Although recently Hasbro has kinda shown a devolution with thier technology. (I mean Devastator can have 6 robot, 6 vehichle, & 1 combiner mode in the 80's... Can't do it now??? C'MON!!)http://www.seibertron.com/energonpub/posting.php?mode=reply&f=23&t=53568#

The bottom line is, first and foremost, it's for the kids!!! Face it all this stuff is. It was made for kids, back when we were kids and fell in love with it. But on the other hand, most of us are not kids anymore. Would we like to see a more mature Transformers series??? I for one say HECK Yes!!! I really enjoyed the new G.I. Joe Resolute series. How great would it be to live in a world where I could get up on Saturday morning and watch a cutesy cartoony Transformers show with my nephew, then later that night, indulge in some dirty, gritty, bot battling action!!!

alas poor animated, i watched it everyweek. tho i didn't start watching it till about half way threw season 2, i've caught the older episodes and it is a really good show. it balanced its dark and brooding with lightharted stuff, alot like teen titans.

i think people are looking at this the wrong way. I was under the impression (according to cartoon network anyway) that the shows rateings were very good.

I think the reason the show was canned is kinda obvious. Hasbro did just sign a deal to make thier own childrens network with discovery channel, and if they wanted to air thier own tf show on that channel, they couldnt do so while it was being created and controlled by cartoon network studios, which is a turner network. I think thats why animated was suddenly canned.

That being said, I hated the character designs at first, just as much as I hate the movie robot designs, but the shows story was incredible, while it did have some goofy kiddieness here and there, it also had some very dark serious adult content as well. definatly the best since beastwars

hell blurrs death had to be the most graphic and greusom death since the the g1 animated movie.

and the toys were fun toys (yes i play with my toys, leave me alone.) barring a few QA issues here and there, they were constantly fun to pick up and play with.

and the shows kiddieness was no worse that waspinator getting blown to scrap 5 times an episode, or dinobot running into a tree and flattening out like a pancake, then falling slowly like a leaf, of bw megatron turning into the tazmanian devil... or optimus prime saying boobies..... yes... i went there.

in closeing, I have to agree with the sentiment, heres hopeing that what comes next is better.

Blurr might not be dead, as his spark was still intact.

Good riddance. The animation was terrible. I tried to get past that, but the storyline portrays perhaps the most stoic character of all time, as a hapless leader not in charge of anything but a ragtag group. Optimus Prime was no politician, he was a (George) patton.
