Because it's supposed to be a Classics Metalhawk, and all Classics Pretenders homage the Shell, due to that being the most iconic thing about the Pretenders.

Leave it to Dead Metal to have the word 'Pronz' in his signature.
Because that's what they've been doing for EVERY updated Pretender figure. Generations Skullgrin, ROTF Bludgeon, SG Octopunch, Generations Thunderwing, Generations Sky Shadow (Black Shadow), ALL of them look like their G1 Pretender shells. None of them look like their inner robot modes.Megatron Wolf wrote:again why are they using the pretender shell for the inspiration?

Well, if they ever make an update to Stranglehold, we'll not only get a human'looking Decepticon but a rather scantly-clad human Decepticon.Requiem Prime wrote:Somewhere something got lost. You can't fault the idea, the Decepticon ex-pretenders all follow the same concept: splicing robot's vehicle mode and more iconic pretender forms. I think the Con's inhuman designs made it much more forgiving.
Far as I know, Metalhawk is the first autobot pretender they've given the classic-verse treatment and the human face really throws me. It's like I'm looking at a toy from a different franchise. (Of course that could be seen as being a successful pretender)

a god awful craptastic gigatron that looks as if a child has put another toys head on a different toys body - a god awful ultra magnus that looks as if it was made up while someone was having a fit - and now 'who ate all the pies' metalhawk....ffs dont they stop half way when making these guys and say 'errr maybe we should start again or do somert better'
christ i always felt energon prime looked like a fat bastard but now metalhawk too? i guess we can now put metalhawk/E-Prime together and start making a FAT BOTS CLUB

Well darn... I love everything except his face, and his beady Batman the Animated series eyes.
Seriously

your joking yes? you even like his -fat bastard let himself go - appearance? it looks as if during the 15+ something years we havent seen metalhawk that his routine has been eating food in front of tv till loses will to live....but has then been forced back into work as an old overweight man. He looks like John Travolta when he dragged up ffs

Really, cause his G1 version looks pretty beefy(as do all the G1 Autobot Pretenders)
He actually looks like he's spent half a season on Biggest Loser.
They even posed him as if he were running in place.
The legs are toned down, the arms don't seem as chunky, but, damn does the G1 version have a stellar head of hair!
