However, per the Botcon and TFCC Twitter feed, they said this one may not impress. Look for the 3 - 5 molds.
So they say.

JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:Hasbro has made a few jet molds available to FunPub, and they just had to make due. RotF Dirge would have been the better choice IMO, not only because it has slightly less Movie-esque aesthetics (hunchback, separated toes), but also because it can be seen as a logical evolution of the basic Seeker design with the intakes on the shoulders, the turbines and the (fake) cockpit on the chest.
I also wonder what aircraft are usable at this point for Starscream and Megatron/Megaplex. I can't see either of them using RtS Lugnut.

You're bringing up RtS Lugnut, well, how about the ROTF/RtS Mindwipe/Strafe mold for Starscream? It sort of even cuts the same profile as the original MW Starscream figure does, after a fashion.

Most likely Armorhide's gun is gang-molded in with the figure's mold and it would cost a lot of money for the Club to set up a whole new production line for a small accessory. Money which, as we've seen, The Club doesn't want to spend (out of being cheap or being frugal).

Yeah, I could see that happening. I actually did some looking up, and found that Universe Powerglide also remains unused.

All of which then goes back to the question of why they didn't go with Longarm. Heck, even Hasbro went with Longarm's mould when they did movie Hoist.

Royalties probably got in the way. Longarm was based on the tow truck in the movie, thus Paramount could possibly ask licensing fees for that to be used.
And RotF Hoist is moot, as during the movie lines any mold was fair game for Hasbro. Now, any toy that did not appear in any media associated with the movie excluding the comics can be used by Hasbro and FunPub.
I'm well aware of the ASP-series by Hasbro Asia and whatever TakaraTomy is doing, since they're separate companies different rules may apply.

gothsaurus wrote:For all the people asking " why didn't they use this mold instead"... what the club picks is always subject to the molds availability. Some are in storage and inaccessible, lost, or destroyed. Makes for a much shorter list to pick from than you think, sadly.
JelZe GoldRabbit wrote:The truth of the matter is, we haven't had tow truck molds in a very good while, especially discounting Movie Longarm. The last one was the original Machine Wars mold if I'm not mistaken.
gothsaurus wrote:Yeah, all things considered... I'm FINE with them changing a tow truck to a regular truck for a redux... especially if there is a good reason behind it.
And I'm hoping the good reason is the Electro repaint. Crossing my fingers for that one.
