Bumblebee 3 pack at Wal-Mart

Postby Saber Prime » Sun Oct 19, 2008 6:08 pm

The last 3 weeks at Wal-Mart I've seen these Bumblebee packs for sale and I haven't seen them exactly flying off the shelvs so I thought they'd be there for a while.

Boy was I mistaken, this week they were gone now I'm kinda wishing I grabed one when I first seen them there.

You probly weren't aware of this as I haven't mentioned it too offten but when I was a kid first starting on Transformers Bumblebee was my favorite character on the show. I had his original toy and lost it in a move.

Even though non of the Bumblebees in that pack were really the original I'd still like to have them. I haven't owned a Bumblebee sence the original.

There were so many of these at $30 i don't believe they were flying off the shelf. If I had to guess, the Walmarts probably just moved them to the warehouse in the back so there's a 50/50 chance that you'll see them again. Maybe even on clearance.

Yea, something similar happened to me too. One day there's a big display dealy stacked with these three packs, then they vanished. Later I found them in a completely different section of the toys, kinda tucked away from the rest of the figures. Guess I'd suggest taking a thorough stroll through the toy section. If you can't find it then, order it on the walmart site.

If I do see them again in a different place or on clearance I'm going to buy one, maybe 2 if I can afford it. (I'd like to have one MIB the other I'll actully open.) If I don't see them returning I'll order off the web site.

I'll allso ask people I know who work there if they can score me an employee discount.

Given that Classics/Henkei Bumblebee is between $23-$30 to buy online, thanks to artificial fandom markups, the set is a good deal.

They are warming the shelf here. I want the classics repaint but not the other two. So i'm torn about buying it.

I would have bought it but I couldn't find one where the paint on ALL THREE FIGURES didn't look like total crap. It looks like they gave the figs to a 2 year old to paint.

I personally love this legacy of bumblebee 3 pack. I bought two of them one to open, and one to keep sealed. As mentioned before getting the classics bumblebee alone is worth the price of this package imo. I even did a quick video on this 3 pack if anyone is intrested.

WM's around here still have a bunch on these, it surprised they haven't been marked down already. My local WM had about six Ultimate BB's from that same promotion. I was waiting hoping these would end up on clearance, but overnight their on shelf stock went to one. I'm 99% positive they didn't sell these, I live in a small town. I can't imagine that overnight that many people decided to shell out $85.00 for these. I'm hoping they just got put in the back because they take up so much shelf space and they may still end up on clearacne sicne I never bought one of these the first time around.

Dude I'm sorry...I hit "shift" by mistake.

Its 25 bucks not 5 bucks.

Ether way I'm guessing shipping to must of the U.S. will be around 6 or 7 bucks.

It's kinda weird. When Classics Bumblebee first came out I didn't really want him because I was kinda put off by the weird boat he was toeing that transforms into a jet pack. Never really noticed the robot mode looks more show accurate to G1 than his original toy till now. The boat jet pack thing still kinda turns me off a little which is why I struggled so long with actully buying it.

Movie Bumblebee, well I hate most of the actual movie designs but the toys don't look to bad except for the heads. Without his face mask I think Bumblebee looks like G1 Prime when BW Megatron blasted his face off. There was a "Stealth Bumblebee" where the head mold had him with the face mask on but that one I thought was porly painted. The one in the 3 pack I belive is a repaint of that Bumblebee and I like this paint job better than his original.

Animated Bumblebee, well even though I like the cartoon I still don't like the designs. Still he seems to have a more show accurate paint job than the single version. His stingers and thrusters aren't painted in clear blue plastic. This one's just kind of a bonus.

The other thing I noticed is that all 3 seem to have been given matching yellew and black paint schemes which I allso like.

So basically they took 3 figures that originally I had no interest in, repainted them, packaged them togeather, and made me want them. As I just exsplained I don't like any of their original paint jobs.

I don't really like the designs of 2 of them but Movie's is made up in the fact that I like the toy versions better than the screen versions and he looks good in the mask. Animated is made up in that even though I hate the design I still like the character.

The pack has it's up and down points but it's really renewed my intrest in Bumblebee. As I said in my original post I haven't owned a Bumblebee figure sence I lost my original G1 Bumblebee in 1990.

Hopefully my Wal-Mart will do what so many others here did and put them on clearance at a later date. I'll be checking again this weekend and if I can find someone I know that works there and they're still in back somewhere I'll try and talk them into grabing one for me.

Well I just got back from Wal-Mart. Didn't see them there and actully asked someone in Toys about them and suposidly there's non left.

I kinda doubt that considering they'd been sitting there for 3 weeks before they dissapeared. It didn't look like any of them were ever bought and considering how Wal-Mart at least in my area normally fails to keep shelfs stalked I doubt they kept reloading the shelfs for 3 weeks. It's more like them to keep the shelfs empty for 3 weeks.

Anyway, I'll probly order online. Maybe try e-bay. I think I'll wait a little while longer for either prices to drop or Wal-Mart to get a new suply. Mostly I'm waiting till pay day.

No kidding, when I bought mine a months ago, I literally had to check each one on the display to see which one had the least amount of paint errors. I did find one that was almost perfect and buy it.

This is the second time I've heard paint complaints... I wasn't trying to ryme... Post pictures if you can, I wanna see what you're talking about.

The one's I seen are much better painted than their original "sold seperatly" counterparts as far as I could tell.

This 3-pack has been warming the shelves since they first got it in at my local Walmart. Nobody seems to want this set. If they just dropped it to $24.99, I think it would sell quickly.

That's what I paid for my set, but that only seems to be at 1 of the 3 walmarts between home & work.

Go figure.

I also had go through like 5 or so to find a decent set of paint. Way to overspray!

all of them in rochester, mn look like garbage. the movie bumblebee in particular. really bad paint apps on that guy. i would almost buy it just for the classic, but i can't justify the purchase since i already have the regular movie bumblebee and the cliffjumper repaint. i'm not buying a third of that mold. also, i just hate the animated bumblebee. if he didn't have those stingers, he'd be a lot less ridiculous. one thing though; the classics bumblebee in every package i have seen has been really good. hasbro is taunting me.
