Everything's worth a try; I find different materials each have their good and bad points. I use Milliput mostly for gap-filling and mass-building, because of its claylike consistency you can water it down to virtually a slip and get a really smooth blend, but once it's hardened it's like rock and you can drill, cut and file it. Green Stuff/Kneadatite is more like chewing gum to work at first, very tacky and you can easily push it around; once it's set it has a much more plasticky finish, and has a little give to it. I like to use it for detail work.
Never used plumber's mate before, though I've heard of a few people who do. How is it to work with?

To the project:
I'm currently working up Darkwing's chest features (You didn't honestly think I was going to leave the cockpit exposed, did you?), and looking at fabricating the mountings that'll hold the two together in Dreadwing mode.

Think I've nearly got the Dreadwind half of the mountings figured out. Still need to do a bit of fine-tuning to get the fit right, but should soon be able to show a mock-up of Dreadwing's firepower config. The turbo mode's gonna take a little longer, since I need to wait till I've got the Dreadwind bits done before I can carve out the holes I need in Darkwing. But I love it when a plan comes together... 8)

Yarr... Dreadwind mountings fixed. Pics so far...

Vehicle modes at the mo. If you look at the back of Dreadwind, between the FAST pack attachments and the tail, you'll see the tabs I've just installed. They're nice and secure, and fit perfectly into the holes where Darkwing's chest vents are.

Like this. This will be Dreadwing's firepower configuration (for want of a better name; I'm working on it). Darkwing will have a proper swing-wing setup, and the wings will be hinged (hopefully) partway along, so they can be angled up as tail fins. And of course they'll also have weapon mountings to fit the missile launchers.

And Darkwing's robot mode as it currently stands. I'm trying to fill out the rest of the chest at the mo. And as well as other, more cosmetic mods, he'll need slots in the knees for Dreadwing's turbo mode.

What, Buster for the firepower config, and Hydra for the turbocharged? I kinda like that, actually. Nice one! 8)
