Jumping on some last Combiner Wars figures that were found for dirt cheap on clearance, my friend commissionned me some final CW customs. He may have saved money on the base figures, but I corrupted him to spend a fortune on Reprolabels. Well, this did yeild some damn good results.
HOISTThere is CW Trailbreaker. But his bro, Hoist, was never made. So, might as well take the pick-up mold and turn it into Hoist.
As you can see, a Cybertron part was used to make the towing hitch. It's unfortunately too big but too cool to pass up so it instead turned Hoist into a mini crane. A reprolabel set for Generations Hoist was adapted for this custom.
If you are wondering what's up with the windows, I used a aluminum tape that are used for drying machine exaust hoses and such. Bought at an hardware store.
Part of that axe handle was used to make the crane's handle. Still, the shortened ax is still usable.
That bot mode is a success. Also, no need for a cyber key to activate the crane's hidden weapon. It's not held in that tight and can be activated by hand.
That mouthplate come from the "Combiner Wars Fallen" Reprolabel set. So, how about the rest of that repro set? You'll see further down below.
HUFFERTRONOn to Huffertron. As a single bot or as a combiner, he's the same person. He's Huffer's upgraded form because he was exposed heavily to some Convenient McGuffin Thingamajing. Never underestimate the power of the Convenient McGuffin Thingamajing.
Motormaster's repro set was used here. Not the best paint job, but heh... Let's say "battle damages" shall we?
Some compromises had to be done in order to accomodate the new combiner's head.
I find the bot mode to be pretty bad-ass.
That head sulpt? A leftover from
THIS.
Here's Huffertron's final form. Complete with Hoist, Trailbreaker, Hound, and Sunstreaker.
A closer look at the new head. It's just Menasor's wearing the Optimus Prime helmet from the horrid Cyberverse giant "carcass" Optimus thing. It worked really well here.
Sunstreaker may be a bit too yellow, but all the other colors match perfectly. I'm surprised Hound's gree is almost the very same that I used.
PYROCON AND THE FIRE TEAMRemember that last Combiner Wars customs that I made? The previous Fire Combiner needed some serious update. So, some new members were added. First, Veryhotspot and Wreck-Gar had to be turned into
.
Then, Ironhide was converted into a pyromaniac with this neat repro set:
After that, two of the remaining G2 Stunticons were recruited for the team and modded using leftovers from the MP Roadrage repro sets. Appart a
added to the bot's chests, only the car modes were improved. No paint. Just repros:
Then, the spare Trailbreaker had to be converted to a pseudo "The Fallen" using the repro sets. Because Offroad was turned into Hoist, I thought it a good idea to swap the arms and legs around to give Hoist Trailbreaker's orange limbs and repaint Offroad's legs in black for The Fallen. Well, I made a big mistake. I snapped a key part of Trailbreaker's arm clean off. It was no fixable. At all. Fokmesidwayzdotjpg.
But then, I found some spare parts. The mad scientist in me kicked in. And what was supposed to be a simple repro job turned into a very original and unique character: PYROCON!
That's one HELL of a "madmaxy" vehicle!
And the amazing bot reveal!...with a damn blurry picture.
Generation's Wreck-Gar provide quite a vilainous head.
BTW, thanks Will for providing me that part! Those arms come from the Scout ROTF Sonar. They worked perfectly with just some bare minimum of modding.
Too bad Pyrocon can't carry any weapons... But he have big claws. And he can use fireball magic. Haters gonna hate.
And now the updated and defenitive Fire Combiner:
So, what's up with "firefighters" Decepticons? Well, some shady arsonists mixed with
ANTIQUE ROMAN SHENANIGANS.
Both combiners look amazing together:
AND SOME EXTRA TIDBITSWhile we're at it, might as well show some bonus content.
First off, non-smoker Wheeljack. Converted to a
because a
against smoking make no sense and he had to be part of a
team. That's a nice repro set.
This complete the all white Optimus Maximus:
Oh yeah, I did made a custom accessory using parts of a very cheaply made but way too expensive "dollar store" toy. A car carrier trailer, compatible with any CW truck.
Nothing is painted here. Just the wheel parts and trailer hitch were modded. Also, some 5mm holes were drilled all over to carry extra weapons. It also "transform" into an "attack base" with some serious imagination.
Well, now I'm truly Combiner Wars burned out.
