So they're basically making FP's head have light-up eyes.

I'm actually a fan of light up eyes, but how is this MORE expensive than Hercules' head?

Either greedy, or starting paying entry level salaries to the poor children making these things.

Crazy Devy, you never cease to astound!

*btw - I've stopped purchasing CD's items until something meaningful comes along*

I dont care about LED lights. What they need to do is design a G1 style chest plate that clips on. Somebody from TFW was working on one that looked really cool. I think it was 3 pieces. Maybe Crazy Devy can do something like that. They can also make a green tank turret barrel for Brawl to make his tank mode look more G1. It could pop right in where the energon star goes.

But for $30? And shipping's $9, so that's about $40 in total!

If it was cheaper I'd impulse buy it, but .... that's a hefty pill to swallow for a feature I'd play with once.

Perhaps on clearance sometime in the future.

Seriously who the hell keeps encouraging them to make such overpriced crap?

It's been said before, but for the price of this thing here you can get yourself a PE Frenzy/ Rumble, a full figure with a crap ton of articulation, detail and accessories. You really want to tell me that a head is worth more than that?

Can't wait for the video review though:
"The base figure is really great but for just a few more dollars it greatly improves it."

I motion that we politely ask Crazy Devy to leave the building.

****?!

They want how much? Almost 40 dollars? It's like two-three dollars for an led, a resistor, a switch, and a small board (if that). I would definitely buy it if it was 25 dollars total and it actually replaced the neck/chest plate and had ultra sturdy antennas/horns.

....and yet, still can't stop looking at the preorder page on TFSource, saying to myself 'but it lights up.... And you don't have to mod it yourself.... It's only the price of a TFP Takara Arms Micron.... Go on, add to stack... ADD TO STAAAAACK!!!'

I really need to work on my OCD / completionist reflex... :BANG_HEAD:

But it's almost the price of one whole Crossfire set! You know, a full figure plus tons of guns? It's definately a total ripoff.

And this is coming from a guy who JUST NOW bought PE's God Sword. Yeah, I think that $75 accessory is more worth it than this one.

Its weird how we judge simple plastic goods over others, simply down to the manufacturer.

Not to say that $40 isn't ridiculous for an already- mass released head with a bit of wiring in it!

Btw, where the hell was Crossfire sets retailing at $40? I would guess I paid between $50 to 60 each, back on original release, not including shipping...

Hopefully the new Fansproject Core Subscription service will keep prices down for initial runs, at least..

Okay, I misremembered. You're right on those prices.

And yet, compared to the price of just one of those sets it seems excessive. Even compared to their other heads it's excessive. I don't see how it could possibly cost more to product than their Herc head.

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... ent/17208/

Here's the original news article for their G1 Devy head. $12! Let's just assume that, with shipping, it's $20. Here we have a larger head, with original sculpting, PLUS the bottom attachment part and it's HALF the price of this thing. And this doesn't even come with its own bottom part, like the the original Collosus head. This is why this price infuriates me. Were the price reasonable, I'd definitely bite, but it's ... crazy. :HEADHURTS:

Add to that that the Collosus head is relatively tiny, and the antenna are fragile enough as is. From my experience with Crazy Devy plastic I say the antenna will brake upon arrival.

But man I just find it hilarious how CD was praised for their pricing back when they first started out

It's all swings and roundabouts, isn't it?

I paid about $50 for a KO Black G1 Convoy, but the Nemesis Prime Reprolabels set I want to get for it is ~$33!

...at that point, I'm looking at that head, and going 'hmmmm'....

Let's pretend Crazy Devy pay more than cursory attention to these forums (cursory is the best we can hope for, given some of the products and prices that have gone on after solicitations for past product were placed on such sites) -

MAKE IT WITHIN REASONABLE PRICES!!!

It stands to reason that there are quite a good few FP Bruticus owners out there - they're stupid prices on the secondary market.

If it was $15 to 20, more or less the 'rough' going rate for such add-ons currently, I'd wager that it would be a no-brainer for most FP Bruticus owners - and they would more than double the take up of this product... (Dr Wu's Protector faceplate springs to mind)...

As it is, most of us are on boards going 'look what price these guys are looking for this!!!'...

Simple economics always dictate that the first run of any product will cost more to make, but CD seem to insist on making obscene profits on these items even before the first run is done...

And, like you say, their track record on reliability and customer service means its even more of a gamble on this item....

Tell you what, Crazy Devy - send me a sample, and I'll be more than happy to champion your product, if it warrants it....

Or, simply half the price. You'll more than double the customer take-up, and you'll still make a profit. MmmK?

I'm... fine with the head that came with FP's kit. I don't need everything and their mother to light up. It eats up batteries and can be expensive.

Agreed, not to mention the fact that LED's are overrated and seldom look as cool as you think they will unless the lighting in the room is just right.

I also custom painted my FP kit, including the head, so there's no way I'm replacing it with another just because it lights up :P.
