Don't think anyone cares, but I'll do my part to make this forum active with 3rd party news. CD announced their latest (totally unnecessary) G1 add-on kit for ... Menasor? Yeah, I guess it's not done yet, for those who bought the last couple of upgrades for the guy ... how long ago?

I need to see them side by side with the original pieces because I don't recognize the differences.

The waistline is basically higher making Menasor look like he's wearing "granny panties".

Actually, they look to be about the same height as the original, just slimmer. Based off a random google Image search. The chest peice is wider, covering up the exposed connection gear.Might be "taller" too.

This is the problem with every single Crazy Devy ad ... you never get a really good look at the effect until it's in-hand.

Just not unique enough (or necessary) for me to really give a damn. CD gave Devy much needed articulation and more cartoon accuracy; they powered up Predaking, and maybe (just maybe) the add-ons for Omega Supreme were note-worthy. But this, or really any other Menasor upgrade released to date, is pretty disappointing.

If you're looking for missing pieces, these might be worthwhile.

I'm done with CrazyDevy when it comes to G1 upgrades. I decided I want my G1's to look like G1's.

That's the decision I landed at too. I have the Devastator upgrades on my childhood version. Probably taking them off though and keeping the Encore version sealed. Kinda always wanted a sealed set and now I do.

Yeah, these ones are pretty much useless, barring needed to complete e set. No 'upgrading' going on here.

I think the chest shield is actually useful since it covers up the unsightly connection ports. But with 3rd party companies making their own Neo G1 combiners, I'd rather wait for someone to actually make a whole new Menasor.

It would be easier to swallow CD upgrades if they came in sets instead of nickel and diming us to death with all these little add-ons and never knowing if a set is complete or not (will they do new fists? A new head? New feet? Who the hell knows? Do CD even know?).

You know, I'm sick of preview art, but when it comes to Crazy Devy and their stupid piecemeal releases spread over .... what? A decade? They should just release some damned art to let people know what they're getting into.

Agreed, or at least actually wait until all upgrades are complete and release them all together in a single set.

There's actually just one problem with that. Many of their upgrades are unnecessary / badly sculpted.

Take Herc. I bought their overpriced purple barrel because, damn it, I want a purple barrel. But I don't want their oversize gun or badly sculpted head. And all together that's $65. Also, look at G1 Devvy upgrade, my most regretted purchase. There's a ton of unneeded upgrades there. I think the legs and head are the only ones that really help G1 Devestator look good. If I could do it all over again, that's all I'd buy. The last few add-ons were especially unnecessary; I wouldn't want them in a package just for the head and legs. So I'm actually down with picking and choosing with these guys.

That said, buying these guys has become a lesson in regret, leaps of faith, and extreme amounts of patience.

Yep, that makes sense. I'd still like the option to buy them all (at a significant discount) in a single package once all of them have been released.

Anyone else has a G1 Menasor who leans forward? I cannot figure out if ti is mine, or if it is a problem with all originals. Thanks!

Hows the quality on the purple barrel ? I got it and the G1 head waiting in my pile of loot. I know you dont like their head, but I like how it looks from the pics at least. I want that cartoon look. I dont really care about the whole "neo" thing.

I actually want the cartoon look too, but I don't like the way they went about making it. I think it's poorly sculpted and overpriced. Plus I feel really burned on their G1 Devestator kit.

The purple barrel is decent, but one of the parts doesn't align 100% properly, just 90%. Mighta just gotten a dud, though. But it does it's job and it's not noticeable unless you look for it. It's just the skin of the barrel, so don't expect a complete item. If yr set on a purple barrel and stickers just don't cut it for you, but it.

Upgrades for G1 Devastator are all right, IMHO, because with his design you can add articulation to him, with the hips, elbows and waist. With the other G1 combiners... not nearly as much.
