: Emirate Xaaron close-up bot mode

Hi Folks!

I'm new to these pages and also to customising in general. I've started a project to make a TF classics/deluxe sized toy of Emirate Xaaron using odds and ends from my collection.

So far the piece is constructed (as you can see from the photos hopefully), the next stage is for me to completely recolour the toy using pro-standard modeling paints. I'm going to go for Gold, yellow, silver and some blue (for the eyes). I'll be using the UK comics as inspiration for the final colour scheme.

Xaaron is the 1 character from the TF G1 universe, who I feel deserves a decent toy, so I've had a bash at a young Emirate Xaaron, in his pomp, as a Cybertronian Warrier. So, this version transforms from a 7" robot to a Cybertronian tank.

Really, I'm just looking for feedback here, from the people who know TF's better than anybody. Have I got it right, or do I need to go back to the drawing board?

Not a bad way to start.

Only thing, Xaaron had a flat chest. Otherwise, it looks really good. Certainly better than I could have done.

Hi Rodimus, I take your point about him being flat-chested (ooer). I've had 2 thoughts on that;

1. Find a more suitable torso and rework the limbs to fit
2. Go down the "war within" route of fav. characters remodled.

If this ends up the final look, then I will probably write a bio to explain the double d's! ;-)

I thnk i have a work-around for the chest. I'll be updating the photos in the next few weeks, once I've customised the part I need.

Addictive stuff this customising, although I'm no where near the level of some of the guys out there!!

Just a quick update to anybody following this.

First off, thanks to those who've commented or given some form of feedback. Much appreciated.

Here's the latest picture. I've flattened the chest by means of a specially tooled part (courtesy of a couple of old zoids!). So I had to muck about with the arms to re-orientate them.

Actually this update has improved the transformation action, as now you have to twsit the waist, which somehow makes more sense! :???:

Painting to follow, which means taking it all apart again... #-o

Just a quick update. The birth of our daughter has meant that there has been no progress with my custom pieces I-)

, however, I intend to get back to customising Emirate Xaaron in the next few weeks. I will also be working on a "masterpiece" Metroplex & Metrotitan, all 6 Throttlebots in classic / deluxe sizes, an older, less warrior-like Emirate Xaaron, possibly an Impactor and Botcon style Ironhide & Ratchet.

I'll try to keep the posts coming with pics as I go.
