that would look awesome w/ the bruiser set :D

Oh, you had asked about requests...

I'd like to see accurate vests and helmets for the combiner teams coming out this month. I'm doing helmets, hands and other addons for the gestalt form, but sets for the individual members would be pretty cool given that nearly all of them have those flak jacket vests :)

@Wulongti
Most of those combiners look like they have character-accurate stamps on their chests (which also have the advantage of already being in color). In those cases, it's probably better just to use a Lego neckbrace so you can still mount their back pieces and reveal the art on their chest.

I am working on a generic combiner chestpiece, though, since pretty much all of the limb-robots have the same style chassis. And I'm pretty sure I'll end up making individual vests for characters like Long Haul whose chests don't seem to be the right color (if I'm remembering correctly).

Now, as for helmets, I've already done Air Raid and Slingshot...which were probably the most egregiously inaccurate...but I'll definitely take a look and see what else needs the Tresob-treatment. Anyone in particular in mind?

Actually there IS NO Long Haul... not even in the blind packs :(

I am planning on doing Long Haul part w/ the Devastator upgrade though so that a second Hook can be made into him.

yeah, they all have the nice tampos but the 3D vests just look so much better.. lol

In my sketchbook I've got parts designed for MixMaster's cement drum, a bed for LongHaul, feathers for DiveBomb and a proper mane for RazorClaw. I really can't think of anything to do for the Combaticons or the Aerialbots other than the helmet and actual hands for the gestalt.

What!?! No Long Haul?!? Wasn't it insulting enough that he had to transform into Devastator's butt (brings new meaning to "dump" truck), now he isn't even on the team anymore?

Fortunately, I've already converted two extra Skorponoks into generic Constructicons, so one of them will have to fill in. The Spinister helmet does a fair job for a temporary Long Haul head since it is dome-like.

Oh, and Spike...

And Bumblebee Prime Edition...

Maybe. I dunno. Perhaps once you paint it yellow?

And that should take care of Dough-bot's requests. Unless, of course, he intended to request vests that actually resembled the characters he was requesting. :-?

I like the spike one, that would be really cool for converting your useless human kreons into superheroes!

I could easily see an Iron man or something out of this. :-?

Bumblebee I'm not as big a fan of.. like you said, I'm sure w/ color it would look better. Also maybe w/ door wings.

In case anyone is interested in these, I wanted to mention that I've made them available in "economy" versions as well. You can get the first volume of sets without the back panel for about a third less...and you can also buy just the chest plates (and figure out how to attach to on your own).

OK,
so as this is now the Dough-bot requesting thread for his ever-growing army of Kreons,

@ Bob, as you are the god of chest pieces  ,
can i request a jetfire chest tampo, the classics version (IDW stormbringer version) I also need both versions of his helmet. (check your PM box as well)

and whilst I'm requesting stuff

@ woulongti, the bruiser kit is great :APPLAUSE: (can't wait to order another one), is there a chance that you can construct an add on from the shoulder pieces and the foot covers of the Omega kit, also as you know the size any chance of a chest piece that would be a larger version to fit in between the torso part.
(hope this makes sense?)

thanks in advance

Andy

Well, don't run out before...oh, wait...look what I just finished:

Hope you like it!

Yes, the antennae are removable on 3mm pegs, meaning that they also be used as two blasters...or positioned differently.

This is, of course, all purely theoretical. What happens on the 3D modelling program isn't always exactly what shows up in the box.

Tresob, I dig that chest man. You know... If you lop off the waist bits so that its just the tapering shape of the cockpit then with the addon parts I have in mind, we might be able to give dough-bot's Jetfire an alt mode, or at least a gerwalk mode :D

I see that you've already anticipated my Whirl vest, then...I even built in a 4.9mm port on the back of the cockpit of that vest in case I decide to add a propeller attachment.

It also occurred to me that my car-roof vests could be worn upside down to aid in a car mode. (And I just put together a Hot Rod back piece for a similar effect.)

Phew...I just wrapped up vests for every '84 Autobot. Some are better than others. Some could probably use creative flourishes. But everyone at least has representation.

I'm almost through the '85 Autobot line, but have hit some snags. For instance, Warpath probably doesn't really need a vest, and doesn't really invite one. Cosmos is another oddly shaped bot that doesn't lend himself to much in the way of vesting. And Powerglide is so darned plain (plane!) that I get bored just thinking of making him. Maybe I'll just put a blank vest in his stead.

holy cow man! What are you going to do when you run out of bots to do vests for?? At this rate I give you about 3 months to have every bot from G1 to present completed in some form

Aww, shucks, guys, thanks.

I'm just making a couple big pushes before work gets really heavy in the next couple of months.

But I hope those sets you ordered live up to expectations, DB!

I started a 7th volume of vests, but now maybe sets should be reorganized for people who would rather buy these in smaller increments. I guess I should do something like '84 Mini-bots, '84 Cars, '85 Mini-bots, '85 Cars, etc.

Plus, the volumes I've already released are pretty scattershot. There really isn't much reason why Roadbuster and Perceptor should be in the same set as Female Autobots.

Well, Perceptor maybe makes sense...

And '86...

Obviously, I've wimped out on the beast bots Steeljaw, Ramhorn, and Sky Lynx.

Eventually, I'll have to get around to Six Guns...but I suspect Sideswipe/Red Alert could work for Scamper.

you know, it'd be pretty awesome if that Metroplex vest fit the "upsized" Kreons :D
