To solve the stacking problem I had to put EVERY disc in a separate case and it takes up more space on my shelf.

Here is some pics.
Also I did a custom cover for the movie DVD using the upcoming shout factory's front cover.
The first disc of every set has a cover, to show what season it is on my shelf.

"Do you have the time - to listen to me whine?
About nothing and everything all at once!
I am one of those
Melodramatic fools
Neurotic to the bone
No doubt about it

Sometimes I give myself the creeps
Sometimes my mind plays tricks on me
It all keeps adding up
I think I'm cracking up
Am I just paranoid?
Or am I just stoned?"

I wrote a blog article on the effect that the film had on me 30 years ago, and hope some of you might enjoy it!

Till all are one – How in 1986 Transformers The Movie murdered my friends, and it was brilliant. To my fellow victims; ‘bah weep grannagh wheep ninibong’

This would be a wonderful post for the following thread:

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... vie/36074/

perhaps one of the wonderful mods here could move it?
Bucket/Want List: Botcon 2016 Customization Class Ratchet (G2 Deco), or Customization Class Ratchet (Marvel Comics Deco) **would also be willing to pay for an Unpainted Botcon 2016 Ratchet, TT Legends Fortress Head (only) with working Electronics

You just need to report the post and say "Hey, this might be in the wrong spot". But I'd already moved it to the correct thread which you then replied to. It was in another thread and I didn't bother renaming the post title which might be why you thought it was the wrong thread.

Any sound discrepancies, which if I'm honest I've never heard, is due to speeding up the tape, then dropping it an octave, because Wells read his lines too slow.

You're right, there was no Nimoy assistance on Welles's voice, just a lot of sound technician work, mainly because his voice was so weak by that point. Here's the bit of Orson Welles trivia from my article about his final role playing Unicron :)

"Unicron is voiced by Orson Welles, in his last role before his death in October 1985, just five days after his final recording session. Describing the role, Welles had told his biographer ‘You know what I did this morning? I played the voice of a toy. I play a planet. I menace somebody called something-or-other. Then I’m destroyed. My plan to destroy whoever-it-is is thwarted, and I tear myself apart on the screen!’

He was not always so withering in his appraisal of the role (apparently comparing the script to King Lear in one of his more generous moments) but Michael McConnohoie did point out that ‘the irony of <Orson Welles> playing a planet-sized eating machine wasn’t lost on anyone.’ Welles was so weak by the point of recording that engineers had to heavily synthesise his voice, however, whatever his motivation and state, Welles last performance adds considerable weight to Unicron (no pun intended) and delivers a necessary gravitas that was impressive."

Finally caught up on this thread, and wanted to pitch in two additional snarky articles - courtesy of megatronus and Burn, respectively.

Slate, on Orson Welles' presence:

from the very first scene, in which Welles shows up and implacably devours a planet, he infuses the role with a Nietzschean amorality that shines through every frame. You can’t teach that sort of screen presence—you can only watch it in awe

Ha. This is how I feel waiting for a good TF movie.

I wish they would start putting together some amazing one-off made for TV movies like we see with Batman, etc. ... using some animation studio with a great Ghost in the Shell style... slightly, anime slightly mech, dark, brooding, smoky, rain and neon soaked... AND then pick up where G1 left off with some great stories.

We see this with other franchises like Scooby Doo. In spite of what modern, stylized series they are doing, they continue to put out one-off movies ... with the original crew dressed in their classic clothes.

That's what I want to throw classic TF fans a bone.

Till then, I'll dig out this movie and roll my eyes at the barely recognizable Bayverse offerings. Sure those are "fun" and have lots of explosions, but they don't even feel like the same franchise or characters. (Not to mention the robots "transforming" by turning to a flying mist and reassembling.)

But I digress.

Yes for the most part the Warner/DC Animated films of the past decade (being released at the rate of about 3 per year) have been good. There have been a few duds, but with mostly PG-13 ratings they have been highly entertaining. Heck even the Marvel animated films produced by Liongate between 2007-2011 were pretty good for the most part.

The nice thing is they adapt stories from all eras. I was thinking Hasbro could do the same. Do some movies from the original animated series, some from the comics (Marvel, Dreamwave, or IDW). Some from Beast Wars, RiD, etc...

CW was my hope to perhaps start all this off...how sad I was so wrong. However Hasbro is still (I believe) the #2 ranked toy manufacturer in the world, are they not? The film franchise is building a Cinematic Universe off of 4 films that have made 3.5 Billion global box office thus far. One would think that developing a couple PG-13 animated films for teen/adult fans released on DVD/BRD/Digital (not some two bit online streaming channel almost nobody has heard of) would be a very achievable goal.

I mean just imagine if Hasbro commissioned Toei to animate a 70-80 minute movie now. Not CG, just traditional anime style, as close to the original as possible, but obviously with an updated look. Get some of the best writers/producers of the past decade. Michael Jelenic, Brandon Vietti, Greg Weisman, Jeff Kline etc... as many of the original Voice Cast as you can get, plus new voices that sound respectably close to the originals. How awesome would that be?

Yeah, that's true, too. They have a great number of universes they could re-visit. We could use a great Animated movie, too. Might be a chance to put out a couple of odd generations toys and boost their sales. (constructicons, Omage Supreme, etc.)

Transformers Prime was excellent. I'd never mind re-visiting it. The kids from Armada Trilogy weren't too annoying. Seeing them grown up along with those bots would be decent, too.

I'm kind-of over Beast Wars, but I know there are a lot of fans who would love to revisit it. Heck. I actually really enjoyed that comic series that brought in a lot of un-used toys into the limelight.

Actually, besides G1 (at the top of my list)... I'd love to see the Fall of Cybertron and/or War Within universe explored in a PG13 Cartoon. Sheesh. That would be amazing.

Hasbro, I'm throwing you amazing ideas here for OVAs (original video animation). For FREE. Take some notes here. This is good stuff. Bring back the original actors like you did for the last video game. That was a great move.

1. G1 Cartoon OVA
2. Fall of Cybertron OVA
3. War Within OVA
