Decepticons for Transformers sequel

I was thinking about what Decepticons could be used to make things fresh. I know alot of people would like Galvatron, but that wouldn't seem all that different. I thought Tidal Wave would be decent, he could even pull off the main Decepticon if done right. include seekers skywarp, thundercracker and a few kibble decepticons and it might go alright.

I think that the issue is, they've pretty much killed off all of the well-known Decepticons at this point. They can do one of two things. They can either revive the old characters (which they've already done for Megatron anyway, so it wouldn't be the best bet) or they can start using more obscure villains. (Well, to the casual movie-goer anyway. I'd assume that a fair chunk of people know who Megatron is without watching the G1 cartoon, and people who've watched it in passing might remember Soundwave, Shockwave, and Starscream) Jhiaxus or the Liege Maximo could potentially be solid choices for villains, but I honestly think they're more likely to just go with Unicron sooner or later, or at least build up to that with a second trilogy.

I know it's more or less gonna come to that, it would awesome though to see charecters like Tidal Wave or even Astrotrain make an apperance.

Yeah, they're definitely going to have to fall back on more obscure characters sooner to later. I mean, you can't revive everyone. Just the important characters who never stay dead too long anyway. Tidal Wave and Astrotrain would make for a good fit, considering you could potentially have Tidal Wave masquerade as a military vessel and Astrotrain as a means of getting more Decepticons onto the planet. I just don't think either one of them could pull off the role of being the main villain.

First of all, I'd like some of the old Deceps to be reformatted.

Brawl to Scourge

Megatron to Galvatron

Then some 'cons that got toys but never saw the lime-light on screen. Such as:

Wreckage

Lockdown

And some new decepticons!

*Blitzwing
*Tidal Wave (like you said)
*Blackarachnia
*Skyrocket (an entirely new decepticon that serves a quick, 20 minute role, but is all the while a protoform or basic)
*Razorclaw
*Breakdown

Maybe some old characters to return?

Starscream (as a ghost)

That's about it for me, but I'd enjoy a Unicron too.

Oh yeah, they could definitely do Starscream as a ghost. That would be a nice little throwback and a good way to keep a fan favorite character still in the films without bringing him back to life.

Depends on how he'd be portrayed. I will say that Megatron's characterization is one of those aspects of these movies that I haven't been all that impressed with, so personally I don't think it'd be all that hard to come up with an improvement in a new chief villain. And if Galvatron is NOT Megatron reincarnated via some contrived means, all the better IMO (mostly because it avoids going back to the resurrection well AGAIN) - there's no rule saying Galvatron HAS to be Megatron reborn, just ask IDW; and I think it'd be a REALLY refreshing change of pace for this franchise to have a Decepticon leader who isn't given to snarly, swarthy fits of "I SMELL YOU, BOYEEEEEE!" and is just the coldest, iciest space bad@$$ since Darth Vader.

I agree 100%.

That would work with Galvatron, also having a main villain that's in the movie for more than a few scenes (whom is also THE main villain) and builds charecter would be awesome. still would love to see Tidal Wave in all his CG greatness as well.

Personally, if they do another TF film (and no reason they won't), I think they'll just reboot it. Or, my preference, do a Beast Wars film. ;)
