"Lighten the mood? The only lights I want to see are the optics of our friends back to normal and the horrible flame around Hot Rod gone. I know I'm a bit like Ultra Magnus being the soldier bit and all but in the line of work my team specializes in, we have to keep our processors on the objective at hand. Anyways, I rarely get out to enjoy myself. In fact, I think Streetwise is probably the one who enjoys the more relaxing outings. Maybe if we survive this encounter, Magnus will see it fit for us to get some major down time."

"Yeah, Hot Spot is right. There been times I've been driving around for fun and scouting even when there isn't some nasty Con we are assigned to hunt down. Most of the fembots I've seen though I wouldn't have touched back on Cybertron. I prefer mine with a bit more class and a little fun. There been a few nice chassis but not many. Once a great while I seen some with actual curves like our wheels which is always odd. I'm not sure if I prefer the more block look or one with curves. I think most of the curvier ones have been off world way too long."

"Look, the fembots are more than a nice chassis to admire. Like Hot Spot said, Arcee is a great warrior and field commander in her own right. I've chatted with her over the years when we had down time. There was Elita-1 and her team but they rarely had time to chat. I wouldn't want to meet them in a dark alley and they were all hunting to hurt someone."

Blaster sat monitoring the ship's systems and listening to the idle chatter of the bots in the passenger section of the small shuttle. The Autobot communications officer smirked a bit at Sandstorm's comment about Arcee. Being one of the few femmebots around must have its advantages...and nuisances. All in good fun though. Hot Spot didn't really seem to get that notion, and stood up for the absent femme.

"Gee, if I didn't know Arcee wasn't around, I'd say that Hot Spot was trying to get on 'Cee's good side," Blaster said aloud to no one in particular.

It wasn't much but jokes were all they had to ease the tension. It'd do for now at least. The agonizing ride to Australia was going to be the longest part of the trip, Blaster knew from experience. It also happened to be when good bots started to get annoying. Hopefully, Springer could keep them in line.

"Blaster, send Arcee and her team the signal. Gotta make this quick and we're running short on time."

Blaster nodded to Springer and opened up a comm link to Arcee on the planet below. >>"'Cee, yo! It's Blaster! Listen, a shuttle is closing in on your position. Something big is going down, but there's no time to explain. Get your team to these coordinates. We'll explain once we're underway. Copy that?"<<

"It sounds as if we should hit up a human library of some kind. They seem to be natural access points to some unspecified amount of government records as well as a convenient access to their internet, just as such structures were back on Cybertron. Even if these are drastically more primitive, they should suit our purposes."

"Great idea, Tracks. In a city this large, there should be plenty of libraries to chose from," Arcee said as she turned another corner, flanked by Tracks and Tailgate. "Let's see if we hack into one of the wireless internet access points, we should be able to find-"

>>"'Cee, yo! It's Blaster! Listen, a shuttle is closing in on your position. Something big is going down, but there's no time to explain. Get your team to these coordinates. We'll explain once we're underway. Copy that?"<<

"-one." Arcee hastily screeched to a stop and performed a U-turn onto a road leading back out of the city. "Change of plans, boys. Blaster's got a shuttle for us. Seems like we're going on a road trip. Something big has happened, or so Blaster says. We're pressed for time though, so kick it up to high gear." With that explanation delivered, Arcee accelerated toward the coordinates. She sent Blaster back a non-verbal affirmative and opened a comm link to Huffer.

>>"Hey Huffer. Something's come up and we're redeploying. Everyone except you. I want you to stay behind and make that auto plant into an outpost Ultra Magnus can be proud of, got it? Good luck. Arcee out."<<

It didn't take long for Arcee to arrive at the given coordinates, seeing as how their little squad was still on the outskirts of the human city when they'd received the message. Halting to a stop, the area seemed clear of humans, but while they waited, Arcee decided it would be best to remain in vehicle mode. No need to provoke unnecessary risk of being seen right?

Blurr sat in the shuttle, tapping his foot on the floor mildly. Mildly for him being about one hundred repetitions per second for everyone else. His thoughts raced - normal for him really - from one topic to the next, brought into focus by the offhand comments of the shuttle's occupants. Their current topic was Arcee now. Arcee. His mind jumped to rumors that he had heard here and there.

"Aren'tHotRodandArceeathing?" Blurr asked, while tapping his foot at mach speed, "I'dheardsomethinglikethataroundthe'22."

Blurr jumped suddenly as his thoughts sparked to the next thought. The blue speedster grimaced. It wasn't the most pleasant thought.

"Er...who'sgonna tell Arcee about what happened toHotRod? Notit!" Blurr added hastily, not wanting to have that particular duty thrust upon him.

“Well you had just found out that Hydra Cordatus’s female was actually the male of the species” Broadside chuckled at the end of his story to a disinterested Sandstorm still brooding after the energon prank.

“whoisgonnatellarcee NotI”

The familiar rapid fire delivery from Blurr could give everyone headaches but this chatter was relevant Arcee was for lack of a better term fond of Hot Rod. So anyone telling her that ole flame chest had gone bad would be in for some pain.

Though he had noticed a second person she was equally fond of one who might survive her wrath.

Springer should do it the rest of us are tactless aft’s”

Blades was heading back towards the storage department to see what he could do about making room. Then a rustling sound came from the back portion of the storage department. Crates started to fall and roll a little towards the front. A lid of a long box opened up and Ground Striker sat up. He then got out of the crate he was in and very slowly walked toward the front. It took his optics several moments to adjust along with the rest of his systems. He looked around and was lost to what was going on.

"Hello, who is all here? Last I remember was I helped the Battle Patrol rescue Fixit and his Rescue Patrol on the moon Gallek. It was an ugly fight but I'm fairly certain we got the Rescue Patrol out of the rusted socket predicament they were in."

Blades jumped at the sudden appearance of the large tank former. He drew his swords and pointed them at Ground Striker. The red torso and chest with navy blue arms and legs mech stood there with his arms up. The Autobot symbol plainly in the middle of his chest with a white background. His primary cannon sitting on his right side and a missile pod on each leg.

"Who are you? Are you a Con who somehow sneaked on here?"

"A Con? No, I'm an Autobot. As I said, last I knew I was working with the Battle Patrol trying to rescue the Rescue Patrol. I'm not sure how I was left here on the shuttle Serenity. The Battle Patrol and I took this rust bucket to get the Rescue Patrol. The last thing I remember is being put in stasis lock by Fixit due to my severe injuries. I wonder why I wasn't put into a CR Chamber and left in the crate."

"Boss, I think we have a stowaway. He says his name is Battle Striker and worked with Battle Patrol and Rescue Patrol."

Hot Spot heard Blades call for him and something about a stowaway. Mental alarms went off in his processor but kept cool on the outside. He walked back to the place where Blades and this new mech was at.

"Stand down, Blades, he is an Autobot if you haven't noticed the emblem on his chest."

Blades lowered his blades but kept a tight hold on them ready to slice up the stranger if he made any move he didn't like.

"Now, soldier, explain everything you remember before you went offline."

An expression of disbelief appeared on Ground Striker but didn't want to refuse a direct order. He went into detail about the mission and who his superiors were. After what seemed like a vorn, Ground Striker stopped.

"Hmm, I think I remember the mission report from Fixit. The Rescue Patrol used to answer to me in an indirect way since I was the squad commander of the alpha unit of Protectobots. Fixit and his group had some autonomy because of being station off planet for most of their missions. The reason why you weren't put in a stasis pod is most likely this shuttle was moved off Cybertron. We had to abandon our home planet for the time being thanks to the war and currently on a planet called Earth. A couple of our bigger ships are orbiting the planet along with at least one Con ship. Right now we are on a most dire mission. The creature known as the Fallen has possessed Hot Rod and taken control of four other mechs with two being Autobots and two being Decepticons. The Fallen is threatening to wipe all Cybertronians out so Ultra Magnus and the current Decepticon leader Razor Claw have a temporary truce until this mutual threat is done."

"Wait, where is Optimus Prime and Megatron? Did Razorclaw remove Megatron? I thought no one had the power to do so. Is Optimus Prime out on some special mission?"

"The current location of those two leaders is unknown at the time. We haven't had the time to search for them. I believe who you claim to be and we will fill in more of the gaps for you later. Let me introduce you to the rest of the crew and our current commanding officer."

Hot Spot escorts Ground Striker closer to the front.

"Springer, I would like you to meet what was a hibernating Autobot, Ground Striker. He is a warrior who specializes in long range bombardment. It seems he has spent several vorns on here recuperating from his injuries. I told him about the current predicament. It seems Primus has granted us one more mech in our fight against the Fallen."

"I know fembots and femcons are rarity but they are still soldiers in most cases. We should treat them with such respect especially the ones who have proved themselves like Arcee."

Sandstorm looked over at Hot Spot and offered the Protectobot Commander a smile and a nod. The triple-changer liked having a little fun, but he wasn't one to go stirring up a swarmstorm just for the sake of relieving a little tension. Besides, Hot Spot's spark was in the right place, and at least he wasn't wound as tightly as Ultra Magnus usually was.

"Too rare, heh," he said, before looking back over at Springer. He appreciated Springer coming to his defense a little. Even that was more than Sandstorm wanted or expected. He just wanted to smash this Fallen whatever it was, and maybe, just maybe, the 'Cons would do something stupid and he could smash a few of them, too.

"Don't worry, I saw her a while ago while we were back on the '22 together... She still looks like one of the dancers at Maccadam's."

"Really?" Sandstorm said, his jaw gaping open just a little wider than it should have. "Niiice."

Tracks pressed his acceleration level up a little higher, zeroing in on the nearest available library as Arcee started to follow up on his suggestion. It did not last long, however,l as something else entirely seemed to suddenly want her attention. Tracks could not help but be more than a little curious. This was not exactly the prime mission he had been thinking of when he had been wanting to get stationed somewhere down on Earth. He supposed it was serviceable enough. He would get to explore and perhaps make a contact or two. But it was hardly the glory of facing down Megatron, or whoever their leader now was, in the field of open battle. It might leave a few scuffs on his perfectly styled exterior, but the gravitas of the situation would be worth it.

When Arcee came to a screeching halt and reversed course, Tracks did the same. Fortunately the alternate mode he had chosen allowed for almost perfect execution of such techniques. He would like to see what this thing could do on the open road. Another time.

"Change of plans, boys. Blaster's got a shuttle for us. Seems like we're going on a road trip. Something big has happened, or so Blaster says. We're pressed for time though, so kick it up to high gear."

Tracks listened, took a moment to absorb what exactly was said and then did his best to not squeal like a giddy protoform. He liked to think he had been pretty successful in that regard. Primus, at last!

Without hesitation, Tracks had kicked his accelerators right back into high gear, following after Arcee towards their next "big thing". Whatever Blaster had said it was, Tracks was sure that it would be bigger than whatever he was doing now.

At the specified coordinates, he and the other Autobots did not have to wait for long before the shuttle arrived. He flung open a door so that his passenger could eject himself and fluidly executed his transformation sequence, jogging up to the rear entrance of the shuttle and quickly climbed aboard along with the others in their retinue.

"I don't think I've ever been quite so excited to be pulled off the field," Tracks said, finding an empty seat.

"Looks like the gang's all here now." Springer stated as he stared out into the Detroit sunset as Arcee, Tracks, and Tailgate rolled into the shuttle. He closed the rear access ramp and pivoted to the pilot's cabin. "Yo 'Dome! Get this bucket to Point K, double time! Magnus wanted us there yesterday!"

"Understood. Shuttle Serenity inbound to Point K now." The mnemosurgeon's actuators flew across the controls in a fashion that was not difficult for him. His former function as a computer programmer really made his job of operating the ship's controls rather simple. Well, simple in his sense of the word that is.

-

"Steeljaw? Where you at?" cried the tiny blue cassettobot called out into the troop compartment as he left Blaster's side, "Steeljaw, c'mon huddle up buddy! We gotta get the team rallied up and make a game plan!"

-

Tailgate entered the shuttle and was amazed by the amount of Autobots aboard the spacecraft. It only made him wonder about how serious a mission he had been called upon. Protectobots, Sideswipe, Blurr, Blaster, and... Were those the...

"Wreckers!" The blue and white scout announced as he darted towards the side of Sandstorm, Springer, and Broadside. "Wow! I haven't seen you guys together since the Seige of Polyhex! Well, from the records of it at least... But still! If you guys are all here that means there's something big going down isn't there?!?"

Springer shot the minibot a confused look before gazing over to Sandstorm and Broadside for confirmation as to what he was hearing.

"Heh... Listen, Tailpipe..."

"Tailgate."

"Right, Tailgate... We haven't exactly gone by that name for quite awhile..."

"But you guys are Wreckers! THE Wreckers!"

Springer stood back and scratched the back of his processor as he thought about the words the minibot was feeding to the triplechangers, hoping any of them to jump in and help his case out a little bit.

Wreckers...

Detroit: County Port Authority - Wharf 13

Quiet. It was probably the most appropriate word that could have been employed to describe the environment of the once great harbor of American Commerce along the fresh water sea known as Lake Michigan. Small barges lined the docks, some still tethered to massive freighters that were being pulled closer to the port gantry cranes, but those numbers were few and far between. Pedestrians and tourists tended to gather around the more historical venues and traps of the once vibrant property. The only pervasive sound beyond the rumble of powerful diesel engines was the lapping of the water on the support struts of the pier.

Aside from the occasional cry of an orbiting avian species, of which could not be readily identified by sight, it was a peaceful location. Small wisps of cloud hung overhead as thin white caps frothed on the surface of the lake. Reflections of the occasional overhead passenger transport or cargo plain faded back into the dark waters. Only the brief and staccato gasps of air or huffs of straining muscle dared to interrupt the serene feel of the cargo hub.

Four men, dressed in blue denim coveralls sat along the edge of the pier. Covered in dust, most from the crates they had spent the entire afternoon unloading from the transports into the warehouse, they each rummaged through brown paper bags as they hunted for their first sandwich to replenish their energy supplies for the rest of the day's labor. They spoke quietly about events of the day, the score of the Tigers and how they were due to break out against the hot flukes from Kansas City. They laughed when one mentioned their local favorite player and his misfortunes at the plate. It seemed to the casual observer that it had been ages since these men had a reason to smile.

The truth was not too far off, at least from the perspective of the truck driver as he stood off to the side of the small gathering, simply enjoying the environment around him. These men, like many others, had suffered a great deal in the city over the last several years. When a mysterious investor came offering the city a chance to revitalize its economy... with a few questions answered up front, if not overly vague and brisk, the mayor's office rushed at the chance.

"Hey," one of the loaders called from the group... his hand waving in an invitation manner. "Join us man..."

The driver shook his head ever so slightly. "I appreciate the offer gentlemen, but I am not hungry."

The second man, short with broad shoulders and a scraggly pair of mutton chops the color of pine wood offering the stark contrast to his almost ruby red hair, simply chuckled. "Who cares 'bout that. Come on man... its been a while since we can enjoy an afternoon after a hard days work."

His head cocked ever so slightly, "After? There is still four hours left on the schedule to complete the unloading of the trailers into the warehouse."

The four men looked at one another and burst out laughing. "And the way you delivered it with a straight face, I almost thought you was serious."

"Yeah man, its a figure o speech." The four men wiped away imaginary tears as they calmed down from the outburst of laughter. "Man that feels good."

The stocky driver said nothing to further humiliate himself before his... well technically his employees. With the others fallen silent, perhaps further adding to the theories that they simply disappeared to avoid him, he had been forced to carry on with the mission. With a simple shrug of his shoulders he advanced and joined the group of laborers.

"This is Chuck Tolarvar, over here is Timmons Blake. The red haired guy is Preston Paulter and the name's Allen... Allen Smith. Most people call me "A" Smith, on account of my parents weren't exactly all that creative when they named me." That elicited another round of chuckles and laughter from the men.

"Pleasure to meet you gentlemen."

Chuck reached out a hand in introduction. "You got a name? Or should we just call ya 'Cabby'?"

The driver, for the first time, cracked a sly smile as he reached forward and accepted the handshake. "Its Henry.... Henry Efferon Fuller... they call me 'Huffer' for short."

Weapon: Automatic Acid-Pellet Gun
Packard Auto Plant: Solar Tronix - Solar Panel Manufacturing Plant (Status - Reconditioned)

Henry E. Fuller stepped off the secluded elevator inset to the furthest corner of the manufacturing floor. As the sole of his expensive left shoe touched the tan beige short fiber carpet, he reached up with both hands and tugged his black tie ever so slightly as he forced it back into a symmetrical position down the middle of his torso. Gone was the uniform of the truck driver he had worn, the long sleeve plaid flannel shirt with the Big Ben slacks that showed the faded signs of wear and tear from years of abuse and labor. Gone were the steel toed boots that were covered in hardened layers of oils and grime. In their place Mr. Fuller was clad in a different sort of uniform... one that he absolutely abhorred. Dressed in black freshly pressed slacks, so finely creased that no wrinkles formed to betray signs of movement as he walked, a clean white buttoned down shirt was similarly care for covered by a crimson vest topped by a black blazer. His hair had been freshly combed and cut, replacing the short curly wild pate that he sported only moments before. Within his blazer pocket an intricately decorated flip top pocket watch like device rested undisturbed attached to a loosely hanging silver chain that bounced ever so slightly as he walked forward.

Fuller pulled the device from his pocket and flipped open the top and studied its interior. His brow furrowed briefly before he replaced the device back into his pocket, taking only a moment to thumb a small inlaid sensor designed as a small symbol of the cause. Immediately the update was transmitted from the device and straight into a secured database.

He offered a smile and a nod to the myriad of new administrators that had been hired on over the past few months, a necessary evil to maintain the appearances of a fast growing multiple million dollar company. It was considered by many in the industry as an overnight success story, a lone innovator had discovered a formula that increased the efficiency of solar panels by magnitudes of three or four times. Not necessarily a game changing or world shattering technological development, but it was a step in the right direction. Fuller mused silently to himself, as if the world would ever realize the truth behind such a boon. All he had to do was proffer business proposals to investors through out various industries. Eventually one had bit on the lure and offered a substantial loan to the start up of Solar Tronix. Of course the initial investment was technically unnecessary, as funds were abundant from other small investments that Fuller had made before arriving in Detroit. But the added cover served its purpose to draw off unwanted attention.

Slowly Fuller arrived at the front of his office door and inserted his security card into the electronic lock. The door bolt released and slowly pealed away to reveal a sparsely furnished room. A desk of beach wood supported by a metal frame sat near the rear of the office, behind it a high backed ergonomic leather chair offered the appearance of at least some significant status for the one who had founded the company. The desk itself was as sparse as the office. A set of computer screens were set at opposite ends of the table, though they were never as they appeared. A telephone was set in the middle of the desk as well as an intercom next to the keyboard. Before the desk was a pair of comfortable leather chairs. At the left corner nearest to the door of the office a small raised platform was set. A large flowered designed pot sat undisturbed, containing a slightly dusted piece of living art. A Cyber Spruce Fern, one of the few things that offered the office a sense of home.

He sat down behind the desk and allowed the security locks to cycle through their protocols before they brought the computer screens to life. Henry toggled the intercom to directly link with his primary secretary who had been given charge of managing his appointments and other tasks that required more detailed attention. Once the appointments and meetings were confirmed, he deactivated the intercom and leaned back in the chair. The next appointment with investors and potential clients would not be until the end of the week, as per his own preferences, and meetings with his innovators and shift supervisors, research supervisors and other divisional managers would promptly follow after that. It meant that Henry was given the bulk of the week to seclude himself, as was his wont, and invest his genius to more substantial crises that required his attention.

Acquisition Base Operations Control

A polarized screen descended down from the ceiling in a matter of moments. It locked into place with a mooted click as its interlocking magnetic bolts connected into their assigned positions. The clear transparent aluminum semi circular shield instantly went black, allowing only minimal amounts of light to escape from its edges before they too fading to oblivion. Embedded lights around a central control panel flashed green, swiftly activating its opposite side sensors to confirm the process had been completed without incident. The lights went to a dark gold to indicate that all was well and the polarized shield retracted back into its anchor in the bedrock above.

"Bounce complete," a gruff voice broke the tense silence that had pervaded the Acquisition Base Operations Control Center. Erector stepped passed the bounce controls arch and knelt down next to one of the newest pallets of supplies that had been brought in from the surface. Various tons of smelted ores, forged metals and dry concrete of a rather specific mixture content... a formula that was hundreds of times superior to those made by the organics above. It was also a formula that was sworn to secrecy by the manufacturer, an acquisition that he felt most proud of given his involvement with the negotiations. The engineer placed his finger tips on the enlarged bar code present on the largest pallet containing the metals, and committed its information to memory.

As he did so, Huffer stepped off the central turbo lift with a synthetic cloth in hand attempting to wipe off the grime and dirt from his hands. "I had almost begun to lose faith in Overload's abilities to deliver." He cocked a half sarcastic smile as he tossed the dirtied rag onto an empty rack that would soon be dedicated to various pieces of equipment. The minibot engineer walked over to Erector and peeled off the plastic cover to the ordered metals. He pressed his finger sensors against the top most ingot. Immediately his sensors flooded him with information and compared it to the required signatures. "At least its within acceptable perimeters, give or take a molecular degradation of point zero zero zero three two three percent."

The two engineers stood back from the octagonal bounce pad and made their way to the central dais. Erector plugged in a data card into the receivers slot and allowed the recently installed computer core to begin its analysis of the requisite materials that had been transported down. "That's to be expected. These inferior organic methods are some what frustrating to deal with." He looked over to the minibot with a similar smirk. "Shame we can't simply give all of our suppliers the necessary techniques in order fill our requirements."

"Oh what could go wrong there," A third voice emerged as the central turbo lift car came to a stop after a rapid decent from the upper levels. "Don't answer that Huffer, really don't want a long winded myriad list."

"Very funny Overload," The minibot fumed briefly before he turned to greet the tactically brilliant transporter. Huffer folded his arms over his chest plate as the two Autobot engineers chuckled at his expense, a sight or at least experience that the smaller member of the trio had become some what used to. After the disappearance of his initial support team of Arcee, Tracks, Steeljaw and Tailgate, Huffer had been forced to activate the emergency gathering protocols. Before he had lost contact with the Guardian or the Ark-22, he had managed to download several reports as to the position of Autobot operatives still present on the planet's surface. He had also managed to retrieve further supplies before the communications link had been severed. Since that time Huffer had managed to gather Erector and Overload to Detroit, having them help establish the trade routes necessary to supply the business and its underground facilities.

With their help, as well as the invaluable assistance of Takedown and his Construction Patrol, the factory had been restored to its present condition with relative ease. Structural integrity of the buildings had been reinforced over the course of the first month. Of course much of the cosmetic work had been done by human contractors, again to maintain the appearances, but they were interspersed with various avatars of the Autobots in order expedite the work. The installation of the equipment was done in the matter of days on the surface... the employees were added during the same period. All the while, Huffer, Erector and Groundpounder had busied themselves excavating beneath the factory, constructing the reinforced subterranean bunker that literally spread out across the entire factory property. Huffer then finished the installation of several solar panel assemblies that not only powered the factory themselves, but were modified enough to provide for the majority of power the Autobot outpost would require.

Huffer had also managed to extract himself from the final tuning of the factory proper, as the orders began to be established by state and local government offices and departments, as well as private contracts across Michigan. There was even a couple of contracts that extended north to the Canadian Government. Chasing a fad or accepting the reality that Solar Tronix' product was far superior to anything the competition could provide, Huffer did not care to speculate. The facts were that the cover business was doing well and those hired to maintain it and manage it were abiding by their contracts. It also helped that their computers and phones were segregated from many servers and thus easy enough to track and record.

Erector unplugged the card and allowed the final sequences of analysis to run their course. "Looks like everything is here as ordered. Even the twelve tons of recycled electronic components that we needed." He looked over at Overload and Huffer with a nod. He abandoned the central computer dais and took a seat along the recently constructed tactical table... built during the off hours of the above ground factory. The other three took their respective seats and placed their hands at the edge of the table. "So the cells are in place, the Ring is operational, computer core is functional. I think we have met our initial objectives finally."

Huffer shook his head as Overload nodded in agreement. "Doesn't mean we can rest. Even if we have the basics established here, there is still much work that needs to be done. We've got the barracks that require attention, as does the infirmary... though we do require equipment from the Guardian, we can still fashion the basics."

"Looking at the bright side again huh Huffer?" Overload laughed as he slapped the hooded engineer on the back. "Sure we have a lot of work to do in order to finish the second stage. You also forgot the construction of the research laboratory, replication labs and the cargo bays in the lower levels." Overload glanced down at the tactical table, which contained a two dimensional rendering of Detroit, Michigan. "We must also maintain vigilance that the Decepticons do not discover this forward establishment. Cannot rely on the bounce system much longer either."

"Agreed, that Global Space Bridge Ring should be ready for deployment soon," Erector said as he leaned back in the reinforced chair.

Huffer rubbed his chin briefly as he considered the recent repairs he had just completed to the GSB Ring. Their last test, at least a week ago, had shorted out one of the connection nodes. The analysis of the node had established the cause as faulty equipment and metal fatigue. Huffer had rectified the problem and his last test power up had been encouraging. "I suppose I have little choice but to concur. Overload how is the lift and the Hanger Level?"

"Those drones of yours, umm Droid 090 and his newest compatriots 142, 125, and 225 have been working on reinforcing the hydraulic lifts to accommodate nearly three hundred tons of pressure. And the Hanger has been equipped with energon dispensers." Overload paused briefly as he attempted to access his observational files regarding the latest developments to the top most level of the underground outpost. "We'll need to install holographic emitters topside in order to prevent the humans from realizing that we are no longer on the surface when those lifts engage."

"Yeah, that is definitely a piece of equipment we will have to install during tonight's final modification sequences," Huffer looked over at Erector. "Including those energon sensor light posts that you developed."

Erector nodded. "Those are also ready for installation. Fire hydrants are already equipped non lethal sealant foam dispensers to prevent unwanted incursions by possible Decepticon infiltrators."

"Good," Huffer nodded for a moment. "They will probably get a lot of use once we are fully operational. Those rust stains have a knack for appearing where they are least wanted. Continue with the final surface modifications, Erector. Overload can monitor your progress while the supplies are brought to their appropriate stores."

Overload laughed, "All while you get to sit back and jump into a hot oil bath... eh Huffer?"

"Hardly. You are correct, we need to see if that gateway is as functional as we hope it is. I have already built components for a secondary ring and it needs to be transported to the dark site. As much as I would like to simply bounce it there, the power necessary might reveal more than just this outpost. We cannot count on solar activity to mask our efforts forever." Both engineers gave grudging agreements. "Very well then. I will test this gateway immediately. Once I am convinced that the Global Space Bridge is ready, I will get an update from Takedown's Construction Patrol."

"And what then? If they are ahead of schedule with the excavation of the dark site, they cannot do anything without more supplies."

Huffer cocked a confident smirk. "Then, I bring the constructing rain."

OOC: Like the Peru thread this one is also moving way too fast in comparison to the Fallen battle. The post above even mentions a month going by and human administrators being hired over the course of months. Therefore, I am locking this thread until we can synchronize it properly with other Earth action. There is simply no way that a human company can be built (with government and private contracts across two countries and human workers hired, etc) and an underground base excavated all in a 24 hour period.

As the shuttle steered downward towards the planet, “Jazz, sir,” Overclock said, without turning to look back, “What would you suggest as the best plan of action?”

The shuttle rumbled slightly as it entered the atmosphere. Just a little while longer now.

Earth's Atmosphere- Outside Detroit

Smokescreen, Jazz, Overclock, and Bumblebee. That was the team going to Detroit. It'd been a while since the Autobots had been there, but now it was time to go back. They had a storage supply facility in this city, and so it was of importance to secure it. With the Decepticons doing who knew what to move along with their agenda of conquest, the Bots had to be prepared to stop them, and having a fuel and munitions storage was an important thing to have when dealing with unwanted invaders (but if they weren't careful themselves, the people of Earth might find their hidden protectors as invaders as well).

"Are we there yet?", Bumblebee said, trying to be cheery. He was looking forward to stretching his gears and transforming and burning some rubber on the streets of the "motor city". What a perfect location for Ann Autobot storage facility, right? America's city where the car industry thrived. They would blend right in.

"You guys ready? Because I am.", he laughed, and leaned back in his chair, resting the back of his helmet on his folded arms, as their shuttle entered Earth's atmosphere and headed down towards the ground.

Autobot Shuttle – Skies over Detroit

The shuttle shook slightly as it descended down through the Earth’s atmosphere. The rumbling didn’t bother Smokescreen too much. He had been on many missions aboard a shuttle craft and knew exactly what to expect. This particular ride down was actually easier than most he's experienced. Orbital bouncing, however, was a very different story. No matter how many times he bounced up to a ship or down to the surface, the rallybot would never get used to the sensation afterward. Dizziness, queasiness and overall general unease were not things Smokey liked or wanted to endure. Still, he did what he had to do for the Autobot cause no matter how it made him feel.

Bumblebee wrote:“Are we there yet?”

“You guys ready? Because I am.”

Smokescreen chuckled as he looked over at the yellow minibot sitting next to him. “You in a rush, Bee?” The diversion expert asked with a broad smile. “I know, it’s nice finally getting out after being cooped up on board a ship for a long time. It’s more colorful down on Earth than the boring, metallic walls of the Guardian. It’ll be a nice change of scenery. So, yeah, I'm ready.”

Having also overheard Overclock's question to Jazz, Smokescreen decided to chime in. "I don't know if Jazz can tell you his plan, Overclock," the rallybot interjected. "It's probably some top secret plan the Special Operations Director can't reveal just yet. Isn't that right, Jazzy?" Smokey joked, giving the Earth-loving mech a playful wink.

Smokescreen wrote:"It's probably some top secret plan the Special Operations Director can't reveal just yet. Isn't that right, Jazzy?"
”Heh, if it were top secret, you wouldn’t be here.” Jazz gave his trademark grin to Smokescreen, looking over to Overclock. “We’re gonna hit up the plant that Huffer and his chums set up a while back. Clocker, what’s the status?”

Overclock nodded in response to both Jazz and Bumblebee. “We’ve just arrived, sir.” And right outside the viewscreens of the shuttle, a series of distant, derelict buildings could be seen. The shuttle touched down slowly, engaging its shields and cover, and opening the rear ramp to allow the team to move out.

“All right boys,” Jazz said, wasting no time to hop out of his seat and get rolling in car mode, “We’ve got work to do! Get those engines revving.”

Disengaging the shuttle controls, Overclock followed suite and himself folded down into his stylish alternate mode, rolling behind Jazz, with the rest probably behind.

They drove through the outskirts, making their way into the suburbs of Detroit, heading for the coordinates of the Packard Auto Plant. “We are almost there,” Overclock said, with his navigation out.

The sight of a developing power plant came into view up ahead. Empty, for the most part, but there were noticeable markings of a human-like trade in place there.

But Overclock picked up some unknown heat signatures coming from a ways away. Not Decepticon for sure. Jazz hit the breaks, slowing down to a halt, prompting the others to follow. Just across the distance, they could see other vehicles, cars and trucks, coming closer, heading towards the plant.

>>“We’ve got company,”<< Overclock commed to the rest of his team.

Bumblebee smiled at Smokescreen. “I’m in no more of a rush than anyone else,” the minibot replied as he then listened to the diversion expert joke with Jazz regarding the mission.

Jazz wrote:”Heh, if it were top secret, you wouldn’t be here. We’re gonna hit up the plant that Huffer and his chums set up a while back. Clocker, what’s the status?”

Overclock wrote:“We’ve just arrived, sir.”

Bumblebee stood up from his seat and peered out the shuttle’s window. The city known as Detroit could be seen in the distance along with several rundown looking buildings. The shuttle rocked slightly as it touched down, almost causing Bumblebee to fall backwards. He didn’t hit the floor, however, thanks to Smokescreen catching him.

“Thanks, Smokey,” Bee said as the rallybot held on to the yellow scout until he had got his barrings.

“No problem, Bee,” Smokey nodded with a smile. “What are friends for?”

Bumblebee smiled back as he regained stable footing. “I’m good now.” Smokescreen nodded and let go of the minibot before then standing and getting ready for departure.

Jazz wrote:“All right boys. We’ve got work to do! Get those engines revving.”

Smokescreen and Bumblebee both nodded almost in unison before they each assumed their alt modes. Smokey’s Nissan Z car revved its engines as Bee’s yellow VW bug did the same. They quickly followed Jazz and Overclock down the shuttle’s ramp and into the outskirts of the city.

They soon were surrounded by the suburbs of Detroit as the Packard power planet appeared just ahead, growing larger and larger as the Autobots approached it. Without warning, Jazz suddenly slammed on his breaks.

Jazz wrote:>>”We’ve got company.”<<

Smokescreen and Bumblebee screeched to a halt. The rallybot then slowly pulled up alongside Jazz to get a better view of what was going on. Cars and trucks were closing in on the power planet not far from their current position. “Indeed we do,” Smokey finally responded to Jazz. “They’re not ‘cons. Maybe the humans are planning to reopen the plant, themselves. There wasn’t any Cybertronian tech left here from before was there?”

Bumblebee then pulled up on the other side of Jazz. “I can scout ahead if you want, Commander. Maybe I can get a sense of what those vehicles are doing here.”

”I sure hope Huffer and his lot extracted out with everything. Don’t think they’d leave anything behind, but you never know.” Jazz responded.

Overclock looked over at the approaching convoy. “I was under the impression that Huffer had the company set up to synthesize energon from solar energy. Unless these are meant to be his human associates, I wouldn’t be so sure of their presence here.”

Bumblebee wrote:“I can scout ahead if you want, Commander. Maybe I can get a sense of what those vehicles are doing here.”
”I think it’s better if we stick together, Bee. No idea what their plans are here,” Jazz said, continuing to drive towards the plant. As they approached, the visuals became clearer. Whatever logos they had on the sides of the trucks, they certainly weren’t the ones that Huffer’s company had put into place. They didn’t seem to match any of the logos in the database that Overclock had downloaded.

Both parties reached the vicinity of the plant around the same time, and the convoy of mysterious vehicles stopped abruptly, some drivers hopping out. They all had different appearances, some with formal suits and others with rough-and-tumble outfits. The former carried some kind of papers and the latter carried human firearms. Most of them were headed for the plant… except for a few that had noticed the Autobots in disguise.

Overclock instinctively darkened his windows and activated his holomatter avatar - a professional agent clad in business clothes. Jazz’s own holomatter was a man of African-American descent, with sunglasses and semi-formal clothing to match his alternate mode.

Jazz chuckled, “Well, get ready to rumble, boys, they don’t appear to be too happy with any of us.”

Jazz wrote:”I sure hope Huffer and his lot extracted out with everything. Don’t think they’d leave anything
behind, but you never know.”

“I hope so, too,” Smokescreen agreed as he kept his attention on the human vehicles approaching the plant. “I’m sure Huffer followed Infiltration protocols to the letter. It wouldn’t be like him not to.”

Jazz wrote:”I think it’s better if we stick together, Bee. No idea what their plans are here.”

“I suppose you’re right, Jazz,” Bumblebee relented. There was no sense in getting separated when they had no idea what exactly they were dealing with here. And these were only humans and not Decepticons. Their potential threat level was quite a bit lower.

Smokescreen and Bumblebee then continued forward in their alt modes as Jazz drove towards the Packard plant. As they drew closer to the human convoy, the rallybot took note of the logos on the sides of the vehicles. He could see the words Blackrock Enterprises written in a specialized font style. “Blackrock,” Smokey muttered loud enough for the others to hear him. “Must be the name of the company these humans work for. Never heard of it, though.”

Both sets of vehicles reached the plant at about the same time. The human convoy came to an abrupt halt and numerous fleshlings jumped out of their respective vehicles almost immediately. Most walked towards the solar plant, but others had seen the Autobots stopped nearby and were heading in their direction. The lead man was wearing a business suit while two others flanked him on either side, both equipped with standard issue handguns.

Jazz wrote:“Well, get ready to rumble, boys, they don’t appear to be too happy with any of us.”

“Oh, dear, what do we do?” Bumblebee asked as he activated his holomatter avatar, a human female in her early twenties. “We can’t fight humans. We risk exposure if we do.”

“No, we don’t fight them. We stay calm, find out what they want and try to avoid any unnecessary confrontations,” Smokescreen replied as he, too, activated his own avatar, a man wearing blue jeans, a red t-shirt and sunglasses. The diversionary tactician quickly made some minor adjustments to his avatar’s appearance, altering the t-shirt into a collared shirt and his jeans into khakis to appear more business casual.

As the lead human in the suit came closer, his eyes widened at the sight of the flashy blue and red Nissan rally car. “Wow! That’s some hot ride you have there!” The man, who appeared to be in his mid 40s, quickly shifted his stride towards the diversion expert. Smokescreen then pulled up just ahead of his comrades and rolled down his driver’s side window, revealing his avatar. The businessman reached the Nissan and looked the race-inspired car up and down before leaning in and placing his forearms on the edge of the open window. “Is this car even street legal?”

“It sure is,” Smokey’s avatar responded with a chuckle. “I’m a racing enthusiast. The numbers on the doors complete the look. However, I do a little bit of racing at a local private track on the weekends for fun. I’m not a professional driver or anything.”

“I see,” the businessman responded with a nod. “Well, I have to say I’m surprised to see a car like this around these parts. It's not exactly a safe area. Who are you and what are you and your friends doing here?”

“Name’s Jack, Jack Nolan,” Smokey replied with a smile. “My associates and I work for Solar Tronix. So, we’re supposed to be here. Who, may I ask, are you?”

“Oh, I’m Mr. Ames. I work for Blackrock Enterprises,” the man said, his expression having grown more serious. The two armed men that were with him stood a short distance back, each keeping an intense glare on the other three Autobots in disguise. “My employer is very interested in acquiring your plant here. From what he’s seen, business is doing rather well, but it could be doing better. He’s made quite a reasonable offer but all he’s gotten thus far is the runaround and, most recently, silence. Mr. Blackrock is not the kind of man who likes to be ignored or kept waiting.”

“My apologies,” Smokescreen’s avatar said calmly. “The owners have been out of town and not available to consider any offers as of late. Perhaps we should go inside and discuss this matter further. What do you say?”

“I would like that very much,” Mr. Ames replied with a slight smile, taking a step back from the rally car.

The red and blue mech then slowly pulled up closer to the plant where he parked near the entrance, his avatar swiftly stepping out of the Nissan. Bumblebee followed and parked right next to Smokey, the young female avatar getting out of the VW Beetle. “This is my assistant, Miss O’Brien,” the avatar, Jack Nolan, explained before turning his attention towards Jazz and Overclock. “The man behind the wheel of the Porsche is my boss, Mr. Crothers. The other man in the Lexus is our associate, Mr. Clock.”

Smokescreen’s avatar then motioned for his comrades to exit their vehicles and greet their uninvited guests.

Blackrock Enterprises, eh? Jazz didn’t seem to recognise the name, and neither did Overclock. Once they were near the entrance to the plant, Bumblebee and Smokescreen exchanged a few words.

Smokescreen wrote:“No, we don’t fight them. We stay calm, find out what they want and try to avoid any unnecessary confrontations.”
”That’s right, and good call, Smokey. Let’s just relax for now and try to see what’s going on here,” Jazz responded. Smokescreen proceeded to exchange some dialogue with what appeared to be the leading character from the opposing Blackrock troupe.

They want to acquire the plant? Tch. Overclock prepared himself for some… words with the humans. He parked himself by the entrance, just behind Smokescreen, and so did Jazz. The caravan of decked-out vehicles didn’t exactly seem like the type of people who would be working for a company like Solar Tronix, but they had been caught off-guard and there was no time for tricks now. Better to just leave it with the story that Smokescreen had put up. Racing enthusiasts, or something.

Mr Crothers stepped out of the Porsche, bringing himself by Mr Nolan’s side. Jazz’s holomatter avatar sneaked a quick smile at Miss O’Brien before turning his confident attention towards Mr Ames. Matthew Clock followed behind shortly, standing firmly behind the rest and pretending to have just finished a conversation on his earpiece. Hidden from the others was a small handgun under his suit jacket, part of the holomatter ensemble. He took his place behind the rest of them in an imposing manner, and glared at the two armed men behind Mr Ames with his blue, steely eyes.

“Well, Mr Ames, it’s a pleasure to make acquaintance with you,” said Crothers in a friendly, warm and aged tone, “But I’m afraid that you’ll have to let Mr Blackrock know that the plant currently isn’t up for sale. Like you said, business is doing well, and we have all the personnel and resources that we need at the moment.”

Matthew Clock tapped his earpiece and turned his head sideways, pretending to whisper something into it. Everything about that was fake, it was merely a distraction for the other Blackrock thugs.

Jazz, or rather, Mr Crothers, continued on. “We would definitely be interested in hearing what kind of other offers you are making. Seems to me that you’ve received silence because your offers haven’t reached us at all.”

“Well, Mr Ames, it’s a pleasure to make acquaintance with you. But I’m afraid that you’ll have to let Mr Blackrock know that the plant currently isn’t up for sale. Like you said, business is doing well, and we have all the personnel and resources that we need at the moment. We would definitely be interested in hearing what kind of other offers you are making. Seems to me that you’ve received silence because your offers haven’t reached us at all,” Jazz’s avatar stated in no uncertain terms.

“That’s unfortunate. Mr. Blackrock is very very interested in your plant,” Mr. Ames replied, his expression remaining stoic and serious. The armed men behind him had raised their firearms slightly but not to the level where they were ready to fire. It was simply a move to intimidate at this point.

Smokescreen’s avatar, Jack Nolan, had noticed this not so discreet move and sought to defuse the situation before it got out of control. The last thing they wanted to do was get into a fire fight with humans. “But we are still willing to listen to any offers you have for us. There’s no need for this to be anything more than a cordial business discussion. Like I previously said, why don’t we all go inside and discuss it?”

A slight smile slowly appeared on Mr. Ames’s face. “Indeed. We’re all businessmen here,” he looked over at Miss O’Brien briefly. “And woman.” Mr. Ames then returned his attention to both Jack Nolan and Mr. Crothers. “Lead the way, gentlemen.”

Smokescreen’s avatar nodded and he and his Autobot comrades led Mr. Ames and his scary looking associates through the main gates of the plant before heading into the primary office building.

Conference Room – Inside Solar Tronix

All of the Autobots’ avatars took their places near the head of the large, rectangular conference table while Mr. Ames and his associates took seats at the opposite end. There was a large widescreen television hanging on a nearby wall of the room. Mr. Ames didn’t remain seated for long and he quickly got back up after opening a brief case he had been carrying.

“Thank you for inviting us inside your plant,” Mr. Ames said, keeping with the pre-established pleasantries. “As I said outside, Mr. Blackrock is very interested in acquiring your plant. I know you said that the plant was not for sale but Mr. Blackrock doesn’t like taking ‘no’ for an answer. Perhaps, he can change you minds, himself.”

“Mr. Blackrock is here?” Miss O’Brien, Bumblebee’s avatar, asked. “Where?”

“No no, my dear. He’s not here in person,” Mr. Ames replied with a gentle smile. “But he did record a message for you.” Mr. Ames then pulled out a small flash drive and approached a nearby computer terminal. “May I?”

“Of course,” Smokescreen’s avatar responded with a nod. Mr. Ames then inserted the flash drive into the terminal’s port and quickly accessed the message, playing it on the large widescreen TV.

The image of G.B. Blackrock appeared on the screen. He was an African American man about six feet tall with short hair and a goatee. He wore a solid black suit and square-shaped glasses and sat behind a very expensive looking desk in a large office fit for a CEO.

“Hello, my friends. My name, as you may already know, is G.B. Blackrock. I am owner and CEO of Blackrock Enterprises. I own and operate a multitude of businesses around the world and I am extremely interested in acquiring your company and adding it to my global acquisitions. I am aware that your company is doing rather well in the field of solar paneling, but with my vast and near infinite resources you could be doing so much better. Under the umbrella of Blackrock Enterprises, Solar Tronix would quickly become the leading solar company on the planet. Your profits would increased ten fold and you would have more money and resources at your disposal than you could possibly imagine.”

Mr. Blackrock then stood from his chair and walked around to the front of his desk where his sat on the edge with his hands folded on his thigh. ”But let’s get down to what really matters here: money. I want to acquire your company for the sum of $500 million. You would still remain in control of your day to day operations. I have no intention of forcing you out. You would simply report to me. As for your numerous employees, some would lose their jobs, of course. That’s just business. However, I promise that no one will lose their employment that doesn’t have to. Not to mention that all of you and your bosses will be safe and, most importantly, very very rich.”

Blackrock then stood again, placing both hands behind his back and looking directly into the camera that was recording him. “So, that is my offer. I feel that it is a very fair and lucrative offer. It is a one-time only deal. Please consider it carefully. I hope to hear from you very soon. Thank you for your time.”

The video then ended, fading to black as Mr. Ames removed the flash drive from the computer port before returning to his seat at the table. “There you have it from Mr. Blackrock, himself.”

Smokescreen’s avatar looked over at the others before returning his attention to Mr. Ames. “Well, that is certainly a very attractive offer, Mr Ames. I’m not sure what to say. How long do the owners have to consider it?”

“No long. Like I said before, Mr. Blackrock doesn’t like to be kept waiting. I left a copy of the video in your system. Show it to the owners and get back to us within a week’s time.” Mr. Ames then pulled out a business card and threw it across the table towards the Autobots’ avatars.

“I understand,” Jack Nolan replied, picking up the card before looking over at Jazz’s avatar. “What do you think, Mr. Crothers? It couldn’t hurt for the owners to at least consider it, wouldn’t you say?”

Smokescreen wasn’t in charge of this mission so it ultimately wasn’t his call to make. If Jazz wanted to, he could just turn the offer down right then and there, but that could then lead to an unpleasant confrontation with these humans. It would be best to push off that potential confrontation for the time being even if it would only be for a week. At least, that would give them time to come up with a plan of action that would not only keep infiltration protocols in place but keep these humans from coming to harm, as well.

Conference Room - Inside Solar Tronix

Smokescreen, or rather Mr Nolan, had defused the situation well enough to allow Mr Ames and his group from Blackrock Enterprises to have a decent, reasonable conversation. Thankfully, they had willingly followed. At least, on the inside of the building, they held some control over the discussion. Jazz, or rather Mr Crothers, was rather interested in seeing what these particular deals were.

Overclock’s holomatter avatar, Matthew Clock, had stayed wordless the entire time. He was keeping a sharp eye on the thugs that Mr Ames had hired to follow him. Certainly not the best image to be keeping if you wanted to have a business merger or acquisition, what with the general notoriety that would follow. Much like space piracy, this situation would be a tense one, and at worst, would turn into an idiotic squabble. His hands were behind his back, ready to draw at any given moment.

Sitting at the table, Jazz listened carefully to the offer that Mr Blackrock had to say. While on a surface level, the deal would have made sense for any human business conglomerate, it posed a greater threat to the integrity of the Autobot infiltration protocol. The plant was not just any business - it was meant to provide an alternative means of energy for the Autobots, in the event that energon reserves ran low. The masterwork engineering of Huffer and the Cybertronian-inspired technology behind the solar photovoltaic systems allowed for far better power generation and efficiency than any other photovoltaic system on earth. This allowed them provide a minimal amount of electricity to the homes of Detroit to keep the cover, but also provided for plenty of energy to be stored for future Autobot use. As such, handing over the keys to Blackrock meant that they would effectively be handing over a portion of their own technology.

Smokescreen wrote:“What do you think, Mr. Crothers? It couldn’t hurt for the owners to at least consider it, wouldn’t you say?”
Jazz now had his turn to speak. ”Of course, Nolan. And Mr Ames, sorry we had to keep you waiting for such a response. We will try our best to get a response back to you by the end of the week. We only ask that you give us some time to discuss such matters with the owners of this plant. A week is a short time for a multimillion dollar deal.” Mr Crothers lowered his head. “We do want to thank you for your time though, you will hear from us soon.” He turned to the other holomatter avatars as soon as Mr Ames and his lot had made their way out of the building and back into their vehicles.

Overclock had an idea. Within the privacy of the group’s local comms, he asked, “I would say that we decline the offer of acquisition, but instead provide them with some kind of alternative offer or a compromise, if you will. It would save us both our resources and our protocols.”

Mr Crothers gently rubbed the stubble on his chin. “That’s a sound idea. Maybe we inform them remotely that their offers are not our speed, and then ask if there is anything we can do instead of the acquisition. For now, we just need to check out the rest of the facility, make sure that everything is in place, and then head back out.”

Matthew Clock nodded his head in agreement, heading through the back room and down the carefully constructed secret passageway into the deep-underground facility where the true machinations of Solar Tronix could be found. Huffer had left it in good condition, as far as could be seen. Some minor maintenance was needed, but thankfully, Red Alert’s mission notes had included that sort of thing. Within only a few minutes, the work was done, and they were ready to return. When they exited the plant to return to their cars, the Blackrock troupe had already left, their trucks nowhere to be seen.

Overclock’s holomatter’s steely blue eyes looked down the long street until it vanished at the horizon. The Lexus’s door opened, and Matthew Clock disappeared inside. Jazz, taking charge, rallied everyone up. “Alright boys, it’s time to head back.”

Engines revved, wheels started to spin. Time to head home.

”Of course, Nolan. And Mr Ames, sorry we had to keep you waiting for such a response. We will try our best to get a response back to you by the end of the week. We only ask that you give us some time to discuss such matters with the owners of this plant. A week is a short time for a multimillion dollar deal. We do want to thank you for your time though, you will hear from us soon,” Jazz’s avatar, Mr. Crothers, said.

Mr. Ames paused for a moment and then nodded. “That would be agreeable. I will convey to Mr. Blackrock that you will be speaking with the owners and that he will be hearing from you by week’s end. Thank you, Mr. Crothers.” Mr. Ames then stood from the table and took his leave along with his group of scary looking individuals. Before long, they were outside of the plant and back in their vehicles. Without delay, they were quickly gone.

Bumblebee’s avatar let out a sigh of relief. “Well, thank Primus that’s over.”

“You weren’t worried, were you, Bee?” Smokescreen’s avatar asked with a smile.

“A little. Weren’t you?”

“A bit I suppose.”

“I would say that we decline the offer of acquisition, but instead provide them with some kind of alternative offer or a compromise, if you will. It would save us both our resources and our protocols,” Overclock suggested.

“That’s a sound idea. Maybe we inform them remotely that their offers are not our speed, and then ask if there is anything we can do instead of the acquisition. For now, we just need to check out the rest of the facility, make sure that everything is in place, and then head back out,” Mr. Crothers replied.

Jack Nolan, aka Smokescreen, also nodded. “Sounds like a plan.”

Following Matthew Clock through the secret passageway down into the bowels of the plant, Smokescreen’s avatar was impressed by what Huffer had managed to accomplish. Wasting no time, Jack Nolan and Miss O’Brien helped the others complete the necessary maintenance on the plant. Thankfully, it didn’t take too long and, before they knew it, they were back outside.

Outside Solar Tronix

“We should keep an optic out just in case they’re still in the area and decide to try and jump us,” Bumblebee’s avatar suggested.

“I’m not picking up their vehicles or any human life signs in the vicinity, Bee,” Jack Nolan replied. “Don’t worry. They’re gone and now it’s time for us to go, as well.”

“I’ve enjoyed getting out of the confines of the ship, but having a run-in with those humans kind of ruined it for me,” Miss O’Brien admitted.

“Well, this was a mission, not a vacation,” Smokey reminded the minibot.

“Yeah, I know.”

With that said, Nolan and O’Brien got back inside their respective vehicles, transferring their consciousness back into their actual mechanical bodies.

“Alright boys, it’s time to head back,” Jazz said as he and Overclock revved their engines.

Smokescreen’s rally car alt mode followed suit, revving his own engines. Bumblebee was much quieter as his VW Beetle mode wasn't exactly the revving type of car. Soon, the Autobot quartet were off down the road with Jazz in the lead. The diversion expert followed close behind as the plant grew smaller and smaller in their rearview mirrors.

Outside Detroit – Autobot Shuttle

A short time later, the Autobots had arrived back at the shuttle. Smokescreen and Bumblebee transformed back into their robot modes and quickly ascended the ramp, entering the passenger cabin.

Smokescreen found the same seat he had on the ride down as Bumblebee once again sat next to him. “We’re all set back here, Jazz! Let’s go home!” The red and blue mech called up to the cockpit before looking back over at the yellow scout and smiling. The shuttle then hummed to life and swiftly took off into the skies.

Weapon: Railgun
Outside Detroit - Autobot Shuttle

As the squadron of Autobot cars slowly rolled back into the shuttle, the shields and camouflage engaged, locking them safely out of view of any prying eyes. Overclock took his seat back in the pilot’s cabin, and Jazz looked at the rest of the crew with a smile.

Smokescreen wrote:“We’re all set back here, Jazz! Let’s go home!”
”Aye! Drive us up, Mr Clock!” Jazz jested. Overclock didn’t turn his head, but he smirked at the humorous statement. Pulling on the controls, the shuttle lifted off the surface, ascending upwards into the sky. Their mission here was done - their alternative source of power was secure, and now they could return.

It was time to return back to base and start preparations.
