I can't find any discussion on these outside of promo talk threads, so I went out and bought one. But mine just doesn't seem to be that great. The light's incredibly weak and I don't know if it's due to low batteries or misleading pictures.

The LED on mine barely exists. I was expecting a bulb or soemthing. Instead there's a tiny curcit board which houses an even smaller LED. There's nowehere near the brilliance seen in the promo pics; I can barely make it out in a pitch black room. It came with three very tiny batteries as well.

So has anyone else bought this thing? Did I just get lucky in buying a crappy LED pod or are they all just pretty crappy?

What they used are low profile LEDs. You can unscrew the back and replace the batteries if needed.

So normally they don't suck quite so bad is what I'm hearing.
