El Duque's collection unleashed!

Okay here it is. My wife has graciously given me a room to do whatever I want to in, and this is the result thus far. I made all the shelving myself from scratch, and it's all adjustable. I would say this is about half of my collection. I had hoped my whole collection would fit, but for me things need a certain amount of space to look good. I hope to add LED under lighting soon. As you can see I only have one shelf with expansion room. I may end up building more shelves for the other two walls. I'm not 100% happy with the display, but I'm trying to keep future purchases in mind. Anyway here it is (for the moment):

Very awesome collection. I am so jealous of your Overlord and Lio Kaiser. Your classics Wheeljack is good looking. Did you apply that kit yourself? I am in the process of looking to buy a house and hope to be able to display my collection similar to that someday. It looks very good.

Thanks! I'm still trying to complete Liokaiser, I only lack Gaihawk's breast partner. I did apply the Wheeljack kit myself, kind of sad that something I put some much work into is about to get replaced! Oh well I guess he can hang out with my Cybertronian mode Drift that got made obsolete. Sadly I just received Landcross in the mail today so he didn't make into the pics I took last night.

Too cool. Is that an original Landcross or reissue. I have the reissue and really love it. Lots of play value with that one. Also, is your raiden original or KO?

It's the Landcross reissue from a few years back. I was prepared to buy the G1 boxset, but came across a guy willing to sell all six reissues MISB for $50.00. I just couldn't justify spending 6x that amount to get the same figures made by the same company in the same colors. Raiden is original, the only KO's in my collection are the Japanese exclusive Headmasters displayed at Brave Max's feet. Everything else is official, well everything that isn't 3rd party that is.

It looks as if ghost Starscream is emerging from dead Starscream.

Awesome, that's exactly what I was going for in that pic. I think the Screamer that grimdragon is referring to is the one with the rest of my Classics Seekers. Looks like Ol' Screamer is laying down on the job!

Thanks! The available space is deceptive, most of it already has future releases planned. Not to mention the six full storage bins of figures in my garage. I must admit I do have a closet full of boxes and three storage bins full of boxes, and I don't even keep most of them.

The fact that you can see each individual figure is what is so pleasant about your display. Mine are so packed together its hard to tell where one stops and the next begins. But you should always keep your boxes man! Do it for the kids.

Yeah, spacing was something I really took into consideration when arranging everything. Glad you like it. The only boxes I keep are things that I consider rare or important.

At some point you have to start making decisions in regards to space. I'm getting ready to sell my G1 duplicates for the first time. "This rooms not big enough for the two of us". I have to admit, I don't even like selling the lesser of 3 Topspins.

I'm right there with ya! I really need to let the duplicates I've acquired while assembling my G1 collection go. I just can't shake the feeling that maybe I should keep them for spares in the event of damage to the display figures. I really do need to sell them to get them out of storage, not to mention the extra cash it would bring in to go toward those last few G1's I'm after.

You mean to say there are some G1's you DON'T have? ha.

Your collection looks awesome. I wish I had mine out on display like that. Certainly would like to add Liokaiser and Deszaras back into my collection. One day!

Thank you for sharing pics of your collection with all of us. :)

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the kind words from such esteemed fellow Seibertronians!

There are still a few that have eluded me. I'm just now getting into the later US releases like Pretenders and Micromasters so I still have a long way to go there. There's still some Japanese G1 figures that I'm after as well.

Just looking at collection makes me cry. The Lio Kaizer and Dezaras alone............

Addendum: Correct me if I'm wrong but you own Brave Max and not Fortmax? So now your after the Pretenders? Them guys are are a pain in such the plastics are in a state of melting. In my country anyway, heck back in the day when I got them 20 years ago, they were melting already.

Sweet collection El Duque! sad thing is i use to have 80% of the G1 stuff you have, but trying to re-acquire it as we speak.
