The Peaceful Tyranny--Observation Deck

This had to be the strangest Decepticon warship that Lookout had ever been aboard. Outwardly, it looked like your semi-standard Decepticon battleship. The insides though? He'd never seen a ship decked out in such overt opulence. And the place was practically empty.

After he and some others had been given their new assignments while being stationed at the Decepticon outpost orbiting Charr, they had been greeted by the massive ship but not by any of its occupants and quickly ushered aboard by transmission edict. Lookout knew the owners of this vessel by reputation, but thankfully that was all. Not many Decepticons who encountered any of the Decepticon Justice Division in person lived to tell the tale. Fortunately for him, he had been a steadfastly loyal and productive Decepticon communications technician since the early days of the war when he had been forced to choose a side. Even so, being reassigned to the Peaceful Tyranny, even for a completely official and legitimate assignment, gave him the surges a little.

According to the details listed out on his assignment datapad, he had been given mostly free reign to roam the ship as he desired. There were some areas that had been locked out, and it naturally piqued his curiosity as to what might be contained within such areas, but for the most part Lookout was simply content to work his way through the vessel--updating and replacing sensor equipment--and get off in one piece.

Having finished his most recent repair on subdeck two, he decided that he would take a little break and wander over to one of the accessible areas of the ship--an observation deck the likes of which he hadn't seen since before the great war when certain enterprising Cybertronians had offered orbital cruises. In this vast room, water flowed gently from a massive waterfall and snaked its way throughout the expanse of the room and collected in infinity pools that were spaced intermittently throughout the deck. Even more impressively, Lookout was treated to a panoramic view of the endless star system as the ship cruised towards its next destination. Unsurprisingly, some of the other mechanoids who had been picked up from the Charr outpost had decided to gather here also. It was a remarkably peaceful room--for a warship.

"Ahoyo," Lookout said, waving genially to the other Decepticons. "You guys all taking a break, too?"

The Peaceful Tyranny--Observation Deck

Gangrill couldn't believe it. He was really here, among some of the most devoted of Megatron's following. This was the place to be if you truly held the the belief in the cause, and it shown in the decor of the Observation Deck.

He couldn't help but hold his digits around his holstered pistol, what was so long ago finally started to manifest. He pictured that day where he stood among the crowd. There He stood, Megatron. His words rang out with the conviction of a storm, casting the gift of liberation among those who were strong enough to take them. That gift was holstered at his hip, kept in pristine condition, the gift that should not, COULD NOT be squandered.

And now he stood looking out into the stars. Everything was right there to be taken, a universe that bent to every whim if only you had the strength and conviction.

As a field-medic, Gangrill could only hope his days were filled with boredom. Any injury would put them further behind the repairs of the magnificent Peaceful Tyranny, which would be unacceptable. Everything needed to be perfect.

Of course there was the odd patch-job, sometimes old servos would lock, basic maintenance, but nothing that preoccupied him for long. In his spark, he knew he wasn't really a medic, he was a warrior, and the DJD always needed warriors who were pure of purpose. He tried to imagine himself in a new body, something worthy of his warrior's spark, a casing befitting a true Decepticon.

"Ahoyo,"

And like a pane of glass his vision of the future was interrupted by Lookout. By Cybtertron's core, Gangrill swore Lookout had the best timing to interrupt thought. Perhaps he should spike his energon... No, that would put repairs behind. It was something that would have to be settled when the assignment neared it's end.

"You guys all taking a break, too?"

"We are on scheduled recuperation. Has the coupling on Sub-Deck 2 been finished, or was there another venting duct falling on your skull plate that I need to get to work on?"

Turning back to the window, he observed the reflection, watching the others as he tried to reformulate his thoughts. It was hard to picture, looking at his current shell, he could only continue to aspire.

Something about this ship unsettled Shocker. Maybe it was the incredible amounts of opulence that seemed to bespeak a disgusting amount of favor within the Decepticon Empire. Maybe it was that at every turn, the ship was free of most of the signs of use that any other warship would have even after an orn of use. Or the fact that he had not seen any of its typical residents since they had all boarded.

Well, there had been that giant statue of Megatron when they had first walked in that had nearly given him a spark attack with how lifelike it appeared. He’d half-dropped to prostrate himself before it before he realized that it wasn’t real.

And then there was this room. It seemed relaxing at first glance sure, but it only set Shocker more on edge. He rubbed his hands together as he looked out at the panoramic view of the stars, which tried to set his surging circuits to ease. He couldn’t wait to be reassigned. Not that he wasn’t loyal, but…he’d caught a very distant glimpse of the DJD once before. And…their mere presence had shaken him. And the whispers, the questions. Foremost of all of them being: Who?

Being on the track that his mind was on, Shocker did actually jump out of his chair when the doors slid open. Ah. Only Lookout. Where the frag were the DJD? From what he could tell, none of them had seen luster or scrap of any of them. But, hey, he preferred Lookout. Always nice to see a friendly face. Shocker managed a small wave.

"We are on scheduled recuperation. Has the coupling on Sub-Deck 2 been finished, or was there another venting duct falling on your skull plate that I need to get to work on?"

“Could ya be more stiff, Gang’?” Shocker groused before turning to Lookout with what he could manage of a smile. “’Ey, Lookie. Did ya, by chance, happ’n to see ‘em? Ya know. Them.”

"We are on scheduled recuperation. Has the coupling on Sub-Deck 2 been finished, or was there another venting duct falling on your skull plate that I need to get to work on?" Gangrill replied to Lookout's initial question.

"You're a riot! Joint-knocker, right here!" Lookout said, smacking his knee joint with one hand before rubbing his head slightly at the memory of the falling duct. "To answer your question...no...I just came across the one. And that was more than enough. Not that I'm an expert on coupling quality anyway."

“Could ya be more stiff, Gang’?” Shocker said, eliciting a wider grin from Lookout. “’Ey, Lookie. Did ya, by chance, happ’n to see ‘em? Ya know. Them.”

Lookout's optics narrowed slightly.

"That nickname was not meant to leave Charr," Lookout huffed, somewhat playfully. His expression then become more contemplative as he walked closer to the others, his voice levels lowering. "No. Not a one of 'em. We've been on this rig for, what, an orn and a half? I didn't know they kept to themselves that much. None of you guys have seen 'em either?"

The Peaceful Tyranny--Observation Deck
“Could ya be more stiff, Gang’?” Shocker's tone went unappreciated. Gangrill looked at the bot with disdain by Shocker's lack of professionalism. "You could do with more discapline, Shocker. You're casual attitude towards out place in the greatness of our cause is boardering on insulting, especially given the significance of these halls."

Crossing his arms, he looked out the view port. The stars stretched out forever, as far as his optics could see, he knew this was the domain upon the Decepticons. A Universe that was by right their own, and the fight would continue for far into the future, but it was a future worth it.

In that thought, Lookout brought the question they were all asking themselves: "None of you guys have seen 'em either?"

"No. And it is probably best we don't. If you two like to act like this is some casual salvage op, then I don't want to think on how it would end for the both of you. One of us needs to be responsible at least."

"That nickname was not meant to leave Charr," Lookout huffed, somewhat playfully.

“Too bad,” Shocker said with a playful smirk, “Just did.”

He frowned, however when Lookout mentioned that he had not seen them either. That ball of anxiety in his fuel pump knit itself tighter, feeling like it was cutting off energon to his systems. It didn’t seem right. Didn’t seem natural. Shocker had been about several sections of the ship, but he hadn’t seen plate nor circuit of any of them. Not that he particularly wanted to run into one. Especially alone but…Shocker’s imagination had a way of running away with him.

What if this ship had been stolen? What if they had run off with it? What if the DJD were hunting them down now as they spoke? Were they all going to die?! What if the DJD had been taken out? Did he want to know what kind of monsters could do that? No. Would he be killed if he ran away? Probably.

Shocker felt sick.

It was Gangrill that snapped him out of his spell of fear. Or rather, stabbed through it with a new fear.

"You could do with more discapline, Shocker. You're casual attitude towards out place in the greatness of our cause is boardering on insulting, especially given the significance of these halls."

“And you could do with being a little less stiff. It’s just us right now,” Shocker said coolly, betraying none of the inner turmoil he felt.

"No. And it is probably best we don't. If you two like to act like this is some casual salvage op, then I don't want to think on how it would end for the both of you. One of us needs to be responsible at least."

There it was. Another icy lance of fear through his spark. But Shocker didn’t know how else to cope really. Seeming relaxed and like nothing was wrong was his coping mechanism. Fake it till you made it or some such like that. And oh. Shocker could fake it. Oh, how he could.

“There’s nothing wrong with how we’re acting,” Shocker grumbled, “We get the job done. We’re as loyal as you or anyone. Nothing to worry about, right Lookie?”

Shocker rubbed the back of his head, glancing back at the door. Not giving time for Lookout to reply, he muttered, “Maybe we should go looking. You know. Just to be safe. In case…er. You know. Something bad happened. Concern for our fellow Cons and all.”

The Peaceful Tyranny - Observation Deck

"Concern? Since when have we been the concerning type?" Sextant chimed in as he continued to calibrate the onboard navigation system. The navigator always loved realigning the onboard navigation systems within any ship he could get his actuators around. Was a rather calming task for himself to help take his mind off this dreadful war, as well as away from the consistent bickering of his fellow engineers and other repair mechs. Unfortunately, Sextant let his guard down and felt the need to add himself into this verbal scuffle.

"The other thing I've seen the lot of you are concerned about is when the next shipment of high-grade comes in! Heh."

As the Decepticon lackies continued their examinations and repairs, a lanky mech soon joined their company after emerging through the main entry point to the observation deck. The Decepticon's crimson red optics stared blankly over the other mech's work as he stood in the midst of the room. Watching... examining...

Sextant cocked his head up towards the doorway when he heard the lanky mech quietly enter, the barrel-shaped pylon stretching over its shoulder casting a slender shadow over half of his own faceplate. Well there was one of the other Decepticons Shocker seemed "concerned" about. Wonder what he was up to.

"Uh, hello there... friend?" The Navigator inquired, trying to welcome the new attendee to the room. Vos remained still where he stood within the room, his optics never shifting around. He slowly rotated his processor to scan over each of the workers the Tyranny picked up. Gangrill, Shocker, Sextant, Lookout, and more...

Sextant could feel the preverbal lump in his throats build as this lanky and dark-cladded figure just stood quietly in the center of the room.

"Wwwehhg... Errrweeeg..." Murmured out Vos as he looked over the room, his vocalizer sounding like grating gravel. "Wuurrkk...iiing... Wuurrrkkiiing..."

"No. And it is probably best we don't. If you two like to act like this is some casual salvage op, then I don't want to think on how it would end for the both of you. One of us needs to be responsible at least," Gangrill had said. Lookout almost took offense to his choice of words. It wasn't like he was running around the ship, overloaded on Nightmare Fuel.

"Believe me, I'm not looking at anything about this assignment as 'casual'. It gives me the slaggin' creeps. You know how many 'Cons have probably died on this thing? And not from being in battles. From the command officers guttin' 'em inside and out. No thanks. When I get assigned to the Ultrax or the Obliteration or some other ship where things run pretty much by schedule, then I'll think it's a casual gig."

Lookout took another sip from his cylinder of energon.

"But by all means, if you wanna be the responsible one, you have my vote."

Shocker essentially agreed.

“There’s nothing wrong with how we’re acting. We get the job done. We’re as loyal as you or anyone. Nothing to worry about, right Lookie?”

"'Zactly," Lookout said, nodding. "You don't sell Megatron or any of the other big wig 'Cons out, you don't wind up on 'the List'. Simple."

“Maybe we should go looking. You know. Just to be safe. In case…er. You know. Something bad happened. Concern for our fellow Cons and all,” Shocker added, and it was there that Lookout parted ways, thematically speaking, with the other mech's logic.

"Nah, nah, see....that's the kind of thinkin' that goes and gets us in trouble too. If something bad happened to anyone, on this ship, they had it comin'. Nothin' we can do."

"The other thing I've seen the lot of you are concerned about is when the next shipment of high-grade comes in! Heh," Sextant said, chiming in. Lookout raised his container in agreement to that. But soon after, some other arrival caught Sextant's attention. Lookout turned to get a look in as well. Probably just one of the other....

....no.

Not quite.

It was one of them.

"Hell..." Lookout began, but the words froze in his throat.

"Uh, hello there... friend?" Sextant said, in what almost sounded like a questioning tone. They had better hope the mech was a friend. or at least tolerant of their existence. Otherwise this voyage was not going to end pleasantly. But--like he said before--they were loyal mechs. Well, Lookout knew he was a loyal mech. He didn't have anything to worry about.

He hoped.

"Wwwehhg... Errrweeeg...Wuurrkk...iiing... Wuurrrkkiiing..." the justice finally spoke with a voice that caused an almost instinctive shudder of fear.

"Uhm, yes...yessir, my lord....working. We're working. Just a momentary break," Lookout said, finally finding his words.

"Nah, nah, see....that's the kind of thinkin' that goes and gets us in trouble too. If something bad happened to anyone, on this ship, they had it comin'. Nothin' we can do."

“Well, I meant…” Shocker trailed off as he realized exactly what he had meant and the trouble that he could get in for. “You know. You’re right,” Shocker nodded in agreement, chuckling, “Dunno what I was thinking.” He shook his head, taking a sip of his energon.

"The other thing I've seen the lot of you are concerned about is when the next shipment of high-grade comes in! Heh."

“Hah, well, no arguments there. This stuff is some of the best I’ve ever tasted,” Shocker chimed in happily, taking another nice swig of high grade. He offlined his optics for a moment to savor the richness of it. When he onlined them again, Lookout and Sextant seemed distracted by something. “Mmm?”

Taking another sip as he turned around to see what the fuss was all about, Shocker froze. The energon in his mouth curdled. It struck him that he should speak but he couldn’t get his energon down. There was a lump in his throat that extended all the way to his fuel pump.

"Uh, hello there... friend?"

Uh. Was that a question? That fraggin’ well better be a friendly. Or at least someone who tolerated their presence. For the love of Primus, Sextant. What a slaghead! Shocker managed to choke down his high grade, it hitting his fuel pump like a steel slab. He suddenly didn’t feel quite as thirsty. He was loyal. He knew that. But. How loyal was loyal enough? That was a question Shocker didn’t exactly want to ponder but couldn’t help doing so.

"Wwwehhg... Errrweeeg...Wuurrkk...iiing... Wuurrrkkiiing..." the justice said in a voice that lanced spear into Shocker’s very spark.

He struggled to find his words. His composure. Anything that would make his spark stop cracking under sheer terror. Lookout managed it before he did.

"Uhm, yes...yessir, my lord....working. We're working. Just a momentary break.”

“B-But!” Shocker cleared his vocalizer, the words having exploded out from him suddenly. He began again much more calmly with notes of deep respect in his voice, “But if you require any of us urgently, we will get right back to work, on the dou-“

The doors to the observation deck hissed open again, admitting a new arrival. Shocker’s optics instinctively glanced over, hoping to see a friendly face.

No such luck.

“-ble.”

The lean, opticless, crimson justice strolled onto the observation deck. “Vos! There you are,” Kaon said, walking over to the smaller mech and placing a hand on his shoulder, “I’ve been looking for you.” His head tilted for a moment and a chill ran up Shocker’s spinal strut as the opticless mech’s gaze swept over them. Shocker. Gangrill. Sextant. Lookout. Others.

A knowing smile tugged at the corners of Kaon’s mouth. “On a break, are we?” Kaon asked those present. “Don’t let us interrupt you.”

“B-But! But if you require any of us urgently, we will get right back to work, on the dou--ble,” Shocker had added, giving voice to Lookout's own unspoken sentiments. Certainly if this or any other member of the Decepticon Justice Division required their specific attention he would be only to happy to give it. He nodded as enthusiastically as he could without making it look like he was going to go into convulsions or suffering some other glitch.

There had been a...a what? A pause? Right there at the end. Yes. Lookout wasn't sure what had caused it, but-

Oh.

Another one.

The electrocutioner.

Lookout couldn't help but feel as if his spark was suddenly going to shrivel up and return to the Allspark. Surely this couldn't be a coincidence, could it? It was their ship, of course....but.....

Stop. Just stop. You're going to blurt out something awkward and offend one of them and you really will get yourself killed.

“On a break, are we? Don’t let us interrupt you.”

"No! Certainly not. No. No interruption at all. We were just finishing," Lookout said, blindly reaching behind him for his cylinder of energon and--finding it--quickly brought it up to his vocalizer and slammed the remaining contents.

*pli-ping*

The most pleasant sounding chime that Lookout thought he might have ever heard interrupted him from saying anything further. The voice that followed was so deep and soothing that Lookout swore it might have just as much of an intoxicating effect as the high-grade he had been drinking. The voice echoed melodiously throughout the high walls of the observation deck.

"If I could have but a moment of your collective time, we are in the process of completing our final approach to Nebulos. Please ensure your refurbishment reports are submitted within the orn so that you may receive all due credit prior to our next departure. All active members of the Division, please proceed to the bridge at your earliest convenience for our final subject evaluation. All Hail Megatron."

>>"All hail."<< Vos instinctively saluted back to his de facto-leader of the Division's voice. >>"I suppose we should leave our friends here to finish their work. Feeling confident for your evaluation?"<<

Sextant was still frozen as the two Justices exchanged words with one another. The first one, the black lanky one was speaking words Sextant could hardly recognize. The navigator looked around towards his fellow engineers and mechanics to see what they ought to do now, but found himself choking on the words. Vos on the other hand spun on his heel and made his way towards the bridge to meet back up with Tarn and the other two division members.

Helex leaned back in his chair as his smaller set of arms toyed with a datapad. He continued to play Appulator's games as they were a nice way to unwind from missions, helped relax the gargantuan Decepticon.

"A Decepticon gangster, known for his icy demeanor." He read aloud, swiveling slightly in his chair as he pondered. "Seven letters..."

“No, I don’t think so,” Kaon said, resting a hand on the newest justice’s shoulder, “They’re probably just not used to us yet.”

“All hail,” Kaon replied with a sharp salute, straightening his posture as sparks of electricity ran up his coils. He turned back to Vos as his cohort asked his question. A smile curled onto Kaon’s opticless faceplate. “Oh yes. But, we mustn’t keep Tarn waiting.” Kaon offered the Decepticons in the room a nod of farewell before following him out.

As the doors shut behind the two justices, it was as if an immense pressure that had built up in the room suddenly disappeared all at once. Shocker sagged, stumbling a bit as his knees threatened to buckle. Well, he certainly wasn’t in the mood to drink anymore. He glanced around at the others. Most looked as bad as he felt. But he managed to straighten up and pull out his datapad.

“R-ahem-Refurbishment reports. You heard the announcement,” he said to the others, trying to galvanize both them and himself into action. He looked down at the paperwork and began to fill it in, “It’s kinda funny…I haven’t done this much paperwork in a good long time. Most superiors like results over paperwork…Heh.”

“Do you think that was…you know the voice over the announcement? Was it him?”

"A Decepticon gangster, known for his icy demeanor." He read aloud, swiveling slightly in his chair as he pondered. "Seven letters..."

“Straxus, perhaps? Or Swindle, possibly. Whisper...?” Kaon suggested as he entered the bridge, overhearing Helex’s quandary as he arrived. Immediately after his suggestion, however, his faceplate turned to their illustrious and glorious commander. “Well then, Kaon reporting for final subject evaluation.”

"Cryotek," another voice added listlessly as the doors to the bridge had opened one final time to allow the fifth and final member of the Decepticon Justice Division aboard the bridge. Once his signature had been registered, the doors sealed. Other commanders allowed underlings to wander in and out of their places of authority. The DJD had no tolerance for such things.

"Greater implied emphasis on the literal rather than metaphorical definition of 'icy' in the query," the considerably large justice, Tesarus, said with more than a hint of laconic boredom in his tone as he stalked over to his fittingly oversized chair with Tarn and the others.

"Evaluation?" he said, not even bothering to turn his head to look in Tarn's direction as he settled into the structure.

Like the others, Lookout made no attempt to interject even the slightest sound or interruption to the two members of the Division who were caught up in their own discussion. For all intents and purposes, it looked as if they were not here for one of them, but Lookout wasn't going to rely completely on that hope until....waitasec...yes! They were leaving! Praise Primus!

“R-ahem-Refurbishment reports. You heard the announcement. It’s kinda funny…I haven’t done this much paperwork in a good long time. Most superiors like results over paperwork…Heh,” Shocker joked. Lookout nodded.

"No kidding," he said, retrieving his own datapad. "I made sure to start logging everything from the microsecond I stepped on this beast. I've got a wrist rotater cramp that's gonna take an orn to fix."

“Do you think that was…you know the voice over the announcement? Was it him?” Shocker asked. Lookout thought about the question for a second, not knowing what exactly he meant. But it quickly clicked.

"Oh, him him. Yeah. Had to've been. I mean, right? They say he can talk you to death. To. Death. That voice? I'd believe it. Might be a nice way to go, though..."

"You're all so punctual. I just love it so much. Could I ask for a better unit to work with than this one?" Tarn said, tapping his steepled fingers together as the other justices made their arrivals and sat in their respective seats on the bridge.

He smirked behind his mask as Helex, Kaon and Tesarus engaged in a little Decepticon trivia game. He, meanwhile, had pulled up Kaon's notorious list, highlighted their next subject and proceeded to access his Decepticon intelligence file.

"Yes yes, our final subject evaluation. It would appear to be a self-doubting young mech by the name of Spintrail. Function, hm, chemist. We don't see that very often."

One of Tarn's digits continued to scroll through the information on his primary holoscreen.

"Currently stationed on Nebulos, yadda yadda, we've gone over that. Hmmm....not dispatched with Scorponok and his primary force to....where were they going again? Garrus! Garrus-9? Are they on their ninth one already? Hahahah...ahhhhh, sooooooo....what have you been up to, my 'lord' Spintrail, hm?"

Tarn's optics perused over the charges.

"Oh, he has been naughty. It seems his self-doubts were noticed by his superiors. Reports submitted. Surveillance. And what do we find? Intercepted signals between a comm station he was logged into and a regional Autobot outpost. Tsk tsk tsk."

Tarn leaned back slightly in his command throne.

"Commander in charge of this outpost is Turmoil, in Scorponok's absence. He'll likely be perturbed that there's a traitor in his midst, but what can you do? Happens to most regional commanders at one time or another. He's a chemist, so, everyone should be mindful of offensive chemical exposure. Any other queries or concerns from the rest of you?"

"Oh, him him. Yeah. Had to've been. I mean, right? They say he can talk you to death. To. Death. That voice? I'd believe it. Might be a nice way to go, though..."

“You think?” Shocker asked, looking up from his datapad. “Er, no. Wait. The DJD doesn’t do nice ways to go, Lookie. It’s probably excruciating.” It was a nice voice though. Very nice. Mm. Might be nice to be all wrapped up in it. Hm…Wait! No! He wanted nowhere near that voice or its owner! Did it work over the comm? Could it kill them all if they found them lacking? Dear sweet Primus on gilded plates, there was no telling.

Shocker could already feel his spark seizing up in fear. He was going to purge. Urgh. He glanced back down to his datapad and triple checked his reports. They looked good, but he just wanted to be absolutely sure. After another few checks, Shocker submitted them and set his datapad down, glancing about. “So, I guess we just…relax and enjoy the ride down now? Kind of hard to after just having been paid a visit, heh.”

“Ideas, Look-Out?”

Skyrar watched the other Decepticons, He had no idea why the DJD had chosen him out of all the generic seekers. Skyrar spent his time trying not to be noticed, blending in, hanging out in large groups and watching the others.

Skyrar watched a bot called Shocker, he wondered why he was here, he got alot of attention. Skyrar didn't want attention, he didn't want to be removed from this place, this place so sacred to the Decepticons.

"Hail Megatron" he thought nervously.

Skyrar wandered around anxiously for abit, got frustrated with himself and sat at a table at random, hoping the occupants would be too busy drinking to notice him.

Helex tapped in the names listed by Kaon, his device beeping shortly after with an alert that each were incorrect. Good suggestions, but not enough to earn the meaningless points. Tesarus however threw out the name "Cryotek".

"...O-T-E-K." He mumbled to himself as he punched in the answer. His device pinged with a satisfactory beep indicating that the Grinder's suggestion was the answer the game had sought after.

Tarn then spoke up and brought matters back to business at hand. Vos tented his spindly fingers together and tapped the tips excitedly as he took in the information of this 'Spintrail' individual.

>>"A chemist you say? My that could spell out a number of means of evaluation!"<< The black and grey justice added in the old cybertronian. >>"A fellow mech of science; I will certainly have to pick his brain-node and compare notes."<< "Eheh...Heheh..."

"Did anyone else have dreams of Energon along the shore of Luna 2?" Sextant added to the conversation, his body still trying to fathom what that voice over the speaker did to his body. "Or was that just me?"

He looked over the navigational systems his digits were still fiddling with, the verbal distraction having left his actuators floating aimlessly over the control panel. Shaking himself back into his senses, the Navigator returned his devoted attention to the Astro-charts, trying to ensure that everything was calibrated properly.

Tesarus smirked in a minor and fleeting moment of satisfaction as Helex's game confirmed the answer. But soon after his attention was quickly pulled to the subject of their next traitor. The grinder listened as Tarn rattled off the specifics while taking a moment to peruse the subject's intelligence file via his own holoscreen.

"Weak," Tesarus sighed. "We are unchallenged."
___

Kaon listened with eager interest as Tarn provided them with the final subject evaluation for the next unfortunate Decepticon to have found himself on "the List". As the maintainer of said list, Kaon knew this one would be coming up soon, but with all the business regarding Megadeath, Spintrail had proven to be easily forgettable, though the dynamo did take note of Tarn's reminder regarding potential hazardous chemical exposure. That could be problematic.

Still, he was inclined to agree with Tesarus' assessment. There was nothing about this mechanoid that suggested that he would be any sort of a challenge for them. This was no rogue warlord or Phase Sixer. This was a run of the mill Decepticon. But sometimes, when the target seemed especially vulnerable, a little extra caution was warranted.

"I believe this one should be done from a distance. That would disqualify Helex and Tesarus. If he happens to have ingested a combination of corrosive or combustible materials, that would make the process problematic for either of them. Vos or myself should strike the final blow on our turncoat so long as I do not utilize my alternate mode, as disappointing as that would be. If Vos is so inclined, I have no objection," Kaon said, with a nod of deference to his fellow justice.

"Perhaps Turmoil might wish to put his execution on display, as a warning to others? After all, he's one of the few on the List who's had no idea that we're on to him."

Peaceful Tyranny - Observation Deck:

After a good while of spending time in the slippery depths of the maintinence area of the ship, it was good for the mechanic to get his much needed break. Though oil and grease were always welcome for Bushfire, cranking heavy levers and carrying giant kegs of grease for the inner working were starting to make his servos feel all strained.

Like always, the bulky brute of a mechanic entered the Observation Deck of the ship with his hands covered in oils. Though that was expected for him. Nobody should be afraid of oil. That's what keeps em all movin.

"Heyall," said Bushfire to the others in the room also in for their breaks as well apparently.

The mechanic; unlike what you would expect a mechanic to turn into; turned into an armored monster truck. Two of the huge wheels of his alt mode sat comfortably in his shoulders, where he was known to accidentally bump other mechs with as he would walk past them. He didn't intend it, however. He was a good mech at heart.

"Been just down in maintinence, like always heh," Bushfire said with his thick country hick accent, "somebody's gotta do it. Thought I'd grab myself a break for a while."

“You think? Er, no. Wait. The DJD doesn’t do nice ways to go, Lookie. It’s probably excruciating.”

Lookout's optics narrowed in annoyance as Shocker again referred to him as "Lookie". He was going to have a mnemosurgeon purge him of that name someday.

“So, I guess we just…relax and enjoy the ride down now? Kind of hard to after just having been paid a visit, heh. Ideas, Look-Out?”

Lookout thought about the question for a moment, before nodding. It wasn't usual to get "downtime" aboard a Decepticon vessel. Not in Lookout's experience. But this ship was obviously well cared for. Maintenance and upgrades almost seemed like a formality rather than a necessity.

"I'm inclined to agree, Shocky-boo. I mean, if they didn't want us having any down time....surely one of those two would've said something. So....R&R it is," he said as he walked over to the self-service refueling wall and proceeded to select the contents of his next cylinder of fuel. It felt kind of odd. So much of the Decepticon empire was strained for energy after Cybertron went, well, dead. And yet here they could get the energon grade of their choice with the simple push of a button. Odd, yes. But he wasn't going to complain.

"Did anyone else have dreams of Energon along the shore of Luna 2? Or was that just me?" Sextant asked, as Lookout noticed more worker mechs entering the observation deck. This was clearly the place to be when not on official duty.

"Luna-2 eh? Nah. But I did kind of imagine myself on some planet like Pequod or Temptoria, millions of shanix at my whim and an eternity to spend them. It was nice," Lookout said as he saw the Seeker looking over in their direction before turning his attention back to his drink. "Hey! Seeker! Come drink with us!"

"Heyall. Been just down in maintenance, like always heh. Somebody's gotta do it. Thought I'd grab myself a break for a while," the other new face, Bushfire, said.

"Well, it looks like we're all earning our keep thus far. That bodes well for our odds of making it to our next assignment alive, heh."

Skyrar jumped and spilled some of his drink, he looked around and realized he was been spoken too. Skyrar anxiously took a seat along side Sextant and Shocker. He smiled awkwardly and sipped his energon staring into the drinking vessel.

Skyrar averted his gaze from Brushfire, not wanting to casue trouble with the bigger bot.

Well, it looks like we're all earning our keep thus far. That bodes well for our odds of making it to our next assignment alive, heh."

Skyrar noded nervously, shooting a quick glance at everyone and smiled nervously again,

"Alive is good." Noded Skyrar looking around again, then at his drink, it was room temperature and tasted flat.

"Purty much, heh," replied Bushfire to Lookout, "I must say, the DJD may be some prty gritty mechs when it comes ta war, but man do they run a tighty ship, ya know? It seems so... Syst'matic and artifical almost.

Bushfire walked closer to where the others were sitting, and nodded his head as a greeting to those mechs. One of which seemed almost frightened at the sight of him, or sumthin.

"I ain't that ugly with all the grease, am I? Heheh," said Bushfire jokingly to Skyrar.

"Act'shly, this here ship is almost creepy with all the here perfecti'n and things. A'most like a hospit'l. Feelin less at home here t'be honest than the old dingy ones with holes evrywhere, heheh. At least thers stuff to fix in those."

Peaceful Tyranny--Observation Deck:

Sweeps, Decepticon janitor extraordinaire, had been quietly working to keep the deck clean before moving on to the rest of the ship. He noticed that Skyar had spilled some drink. As the others spoke he quietly walked in their direction. He stopped before them, gave Skyar an annoyed look, then cleaned up the spill.

"Alive is good," Skyrar said after moving to join Lookout and the others. Lookout just chuckled and took another swig from his container.

"It's definitely a philosophy that I try to stick with, heheh. What brings a Seeker aboard a ship like this anyway? Don't you Seekers tend to be not far from Starscream?"

"Purty much, heh. I must say, the DJD may be some pretty gritty mechs when it comes ta war, but man do they run a tidy ship, ya know? It seems so... Syst'matic and artificial almost, the other mech, Bushfire, said in response to Lookout's earlier comment.

"Yeah, 'gritty' is the word for it. Primus take my spark if I ever do somethin' that gets me on this 'list' they keep. All Hail Megatron for me, from now 'til my end," Lookout said before looking around at their luxurious surroundings. Not just here. But everywhere since they stepped foot on this floating palace. "But yeah. I was kinda thinkin' it'd look like Styx or some other slaughterhouse."

"Act'shly, this here ship is almost creepy with all the here perfecti'n and things. A'most like a hospit'l. Feelin less at home here t'be honest than the old dingy ones with holes evrywhere, heheh. At least thers stuff to fix in those."

"Oh? Well, Motormaster is the next 'Con boss you wanna get assigned to, then. You ever been on that scow that he and his team ride around on? Looks like it ran into a whole herd'a Dinobots hahahah! Those racer guys that're always with him? Don't do nothin' t'keep that ship running smooth. But you'll be fixin' stuff 'til the war's over on that thing."

Lookout then noticed another newly arrived mech, only this one was cleaning up the small mess that had been left by Skyrar when he changed his seat.

"Hey! Hey! I don't know yer designation, but come have a drink! We're all takin' a break."
